I am totally digging this as a fan of the original Legend of Zelda! I see the game still suffers from slow down when there are too many sprites on the screen.

Wow, great job and amazing play through. I'd love to hear your commentary throughout the video. You've obviously dedicated an enormous amount of time on the game and would be able to provide interesting insights during the travel scenes and whatnot.

I had no idea about this game until last week. I watched 1 review and seen the player get the meat in level 3 which is wish I never watched, besides that I am trying to beat the game without looking anything up. I passed 4 levels so far and I got lucky and found level 6 which is kind of a hard level.
Wow. I'm 50 minutes in & I don't think you've taken a single hit yet.
Some impressive movement.
Being able to keep the sword beams is EXTREMELY HELPFUL.
I looked like those three Warlock Bosses in Level 4 would have been alot harder without it.
Seriously tho, this is a tough game. I'm thinking theres a good chance you going to beat it without being touched.
Lol. I've got an easier version and I'm still struggling.
Then again it's alot harder to play on the phone with those damn touch screen controls
This game has both enemies sprites from LOZ 1 AND 2 incorporated well, the game play ironically has the NES screen glitch when many enemy sprites on screen slows down play.
I haven't been impressed by the dungeon master bosses and has not collected the items in the dungeon necessary to get further into the game, but I guess there is a reason why

He took damage only one time in the entire play-through in level 9 at 2:11:35. It looks like he should have taken damage several other times in level 9 but didn't. I was convinced he was using some sort of cheat or hack but that one hit at the end of 9 is making me question it. Looks like he should have taken damage at 2:07:35 patra, 2:09:14 razor trap, 2:11:00 patra, and 2:11:28 patra.
Actually, he didn’t even take damage then. The bubble enemies don’t damage you. Rather, they keep you from using your sword.
This player definitely cheated his way through the game tho, as he didn’t take damage the times you mentioned.

The version I am playing now doesn't sell the lantern. It sells the bow and arrow instead so I don't have any clue what to do or if its even possible to obtain the item a different way in order to get to level 6. Any advice let me know!

In my head canon this (or that funky Zelda 3 Return of Ganon that you have to play inside a custom EXE program) could be a Zelda III, not a remake of the 1st..... It would be LTTP that would come next of course in release order.

I bought a 150 nes in one gba game which is amazing for my sp and ds lite. I am working on getting the consoles and stuff but this works for now. Lucky for me along with the first two the maker put this game in as well so I have 3 I am so happy. Recommend anyone wanting a pocket nes to check it out 20 bucks tops.

it's a home brew. it will never happen. They would have to do a section for home brews if they did and getting anything approved by Nintendo takes a very long time.
You have to be using save states, right? I'm halfway through and you haven't gotten hit once! Awesome either way, and fun to watch a master.
Mann I get Soo jealous when watching playthroughs of Zelda games like this or the original "The Legend Of Zelda" for the NES or "A Link To The Past" on the SNES because I see how well and how much easier it looks to manuver Link from the enemies and their projectiles that they throw at you and you can dodge them easily... because for some reason I guess because it's an emulation, I bought The Legend Of Zelda & A Link To The Past on my Nintendo Wii system off the Virtual Console and you have to use the "Pro Controller" for any of the retro games you buy off the Wii but damn does those controllers or the game itself has enough of a lag that it really effects your playing, like if there were more than 2 enemies on the screen I'm trying to kill I end up getting lit up by them because I can't manuver smoothly n as quickly as I would like....and same thing for the controls for Castlevania IV for the SNES I've watched the Angry Video Game Nerd episode about this game and he was saying it's his favorite out of all the Castlevania games in the series and one of his big reasons for his love for that game he said was how perfect and on point was the controls for that game and he said if he would fall from a jump n died he said it was because of his fault not because of the controls but it's the complete opposite with my experience playing that game on my Wii same issues the controls just felt too stiff and I couldn't manuver smoothly or swiftly like James was saying when he plays it on his SNES so I'm definitely thinking it's only because I'm playing on emulation and with that Pro Controller it made those games not as great of an experience as it most likely would be if I had them on the original consoles with the original controllers

This one is a Zelda 1 NES rom hack. There's a Randomizer Outlands that is in Zelda Classic.
Have this on a 150 in 1 GBA game
I gave up on level 8. Too fucking hard to get through all of the rooms with the red skulls without being hit. There should be atleast one blue skull somewhat close to Carock so you can regain the sword… or another way to kill Carock than with the sword.. This thing ruined the game for me.. not fun anymore.
I gave it one more try and found out that you get your sword back by using a potion 👍
Other than the disgusting artwork on the title screen, this game looks pretty fun.

@@KRocketneosRetroGaming Thought so. It's pretty cool, but very jarring when you see all the enemies swapped around and things kind of put in random places. But neat.
