When I discovered the 2nd quest I thought I'd really found something. That was a long time ago now.

Always man! Refreshing to see peeps that think of this as zelda and not BotW! That is why I love Zelda Classic so much! Can’t get enough of that classic feel! If you haven’t already you should check out ZC! Hundreds upon hundreds of 100% custom fan games done in the classic format!
@@SemiCooperative oh my god awesome. I’m such an old man noob (I’m 40 whatever) that I’m just discovering this world. Been replaying the original every couple years. Just now I’m rocking Outlands. I’ve played 3rd and 4th quests but that’s it. I had no idea how deep the rabbit hole went!! Incredible, and I thank you for shedding light on this insane graphic hack and I’ll def check out some ZC. Thanks man! Always great to hear this especially about zelda! There is such a wide array of ZC quests, ranging from beginner difficulty to “you better know your zelda!” My personal favorites are Islands of Zelda (easier side) and Isle of Rebirth (harder side), both of which I have done along with the dozens of others from the last 5ish years!

Greetings from the BIG SKY. When I was working at NOA I played this game with my Advantage Controller with glee.
I think the original supported quarter hearts just not visually. Once you had blue ring you could take small damage and still have shooting sword while you looked full, but another hit would take half and you lose it
I’ve watched this twice I’ve always wondered why Nintendo never redid the original-finally decided to search “Zelda original remake” and boom glad i did and super duper glad someone remade the original 🎉

Wow that looks amazing! I gotta give that a try been so long since I played the original. I bet this is what peoplee thought this looked like back in the day, I can't imagine what an adventure it would have been for those who bought the original when it came out

For whatever reason I can't get the dev version of Mesen by any means! Their official page simply doesn't give any download link or they're like super hidden.
I know of this emulator. I used it to play an HD hack of Metroid by the same author. It's really impressive.

Origins is similar to this too. A 3D take on the original game with a couple of additions.

The magic sword that shoots out just needs to look like its made of energy instead of a replica ... and wasn't the first sword a magic wooden sword? Would have been better if they kept those elements... but looks very cool so far.
Please tell me you're gonna do Zelda 2. The game appears to got fixed up well as well. Just wanted to put that out there. 😁

The rom has no time limit and it looks better
I don't care for link to the past artwork. I think the better way to play og Zelda is called "the legend of doom" which is a first person view of Zelda but looks like the original artwork.

I was searching on TH-cam and seen you like to play old classic Zelda games. I was wondering if you would be up for the challenge and willing to try my homebrew game hack of "The Legend of Zelda" for the NES? The reason I asked this is, I’ve been working on several ROM hacks of the game changing the outer world, shops, item location, Dungeons and more. I'm looking for someone who streams on TH-cam who would play a blind run through. I'd like to get the satisfaction of watching someone play through my quests.
They have some challenge and will make you think at times. Can be a little tricky as well. I want to let you know I used a Zelda Randomize ROM when making these quest. I wanted to use a couple of the randomize options. You are able to save your quest by using controller 1 and pressing up +A at the same time. Select button swaps through items while playing the game and I used fast text. Let me know if you would be interested in doing a blind run through?
What is the name of this rom hack? Is there a place where it can be found online?

I believe just the tile and sprite choices. Although this does have more animations than BS
Link looks like a word that means happy and rhymes with gray, just drop the r. Most of the graphics other than link looks better. The enemies look better graphically but look un-intimidating…
The sound is half better and half worse. Worse, the sword shooting sounds sissy… a sword should sound intimidating. The original sword sounded better. Don’t like that they made the secret locations so obvious… horrible remaking decision.
The guy narrating sounds bleep-o. Talks a little too much…
In the end, anything the legend of Zelda is still a win.
I do agree with some of your critiques, I do prefer the original's sword sound. Overall it was fun to play it in this way, was nice and fresh.
