Also when we will hit last episode for River - remember to watch some good compilation on YT of her whole life in order. Also you should point out, that she did mention Crash on the Bizantium in Library.
That bit in the capsule where Matt ripped off that piece of cloth was a genuine goof that they just rolled with. I think River (Alex Kingston)'s reaction was natural, too.

Oh, poor Deepa!!! :cackles uproariously: I keep the stills of the Weeping Angel in the holding cell in a folder and use them for my background, seven in total. The first month I did this, I scared myself about twice a day. Now, 4 years later, it's about once a month that I jump, and maybe once a year that I actually something or screech. It's glorious. And it has kept more than one person from getting into things they shouldn't have when they minimized a screen and were confronted with the shot of it right up against the screen.
The hilarious thing about this episode: Matt was *not* meant to break that strap when he yanked on it. That was literally him breaking the set; so River rolling her eyes is Alex Kingston *not breaking character* at Matt breaking the set.

I don't believe a reaction goes through your brain that doesn't immediately create exaggeratedly dramatic expressions. I never liked the "brakes on" joke (5:07). I find it _terrestrial,_ and so unnecessary. *Plus,* _the Master's_ & _the Rani's_ *TARDIS* had a few _extra_ little sounds, but the same underlying primary sound we love was always there. You two always make me smile as soon as I start watching.
Thomas Kelly I’ve always loved it tbh. I’ve always seen it like River just being an excellent driver that doesn’t need to use the brakes to park. The Doctor, the Master, the Rani... they come in too hot and fast and need the brakes to slow them down. River’s just lands perfectly, no brakes needed... like a glove.
In my head canon, she knows how to stop it making the noise and is either messing with the Doctor, or playing it up for the audience. I also assume he's kind of going along with it.
I think it was established that the Doctor stole the TARDIS from a museum and never got his license to fly one. He’s just winging it and the TARDIS just takes him where he needs to be. And it’s the Doctor finally acknowledging the sound the TARDIS makes. It makes it part of his character, he’s slightly incompetent but also carefree and silly and sentimental. And as pointed out, it establishes the dynamic between River and the Doctor as husband and wife. It’s River pointing out he’s doing something wrong and it’s the Doctor going “nope, that’s just my style.” Just like Amy and the bowtie. Eleven was always kind of asserting his identity, whereas by contrast Twelve was for a long time still searching for it. It’s character and it’s silly and therefore I love it.
Luke, I am going to give you the best piece of Advice you will ever get in your life then I will tell you why. You and Deepa move in together.I get Female Friends to move in with me, especially Girlfriends. The reason is simple. If I didn't I would have to do all the cooking, the cleaning, the washing, the ironing myself. Thank GOD for Women. I might be kidding.
The fact this was the first episode that they had filmed for series 5 really shows how good an actor Matt Smith really is
