One of the most heartbreaking episodes in the history of TV, had everything. Ricks speech is just simply incredible, and hershel’s smile after rick says it will never not make me cry:(. RIP Scott Wilson
Remember sandwich lady, with dudes head in a box, that stabbed herself in the woods, and asked to be left a walker? She was in the crowd of walkers at the end.
Good spot
The way the governor just fucking pistol whips michonne like it’s a random Wednesday…
That was for Penny.
Rest in peace Hershel. You were a good, damn good man. 😭 🫡
Back when this episode aired you couldn’t go anywhere without people talking about this episode I just remember this episode having such a huge impact on people I was in 9th grade at the time (now graduated oh how time flies) and I just remember hearing for an entire week about how Hershel was dead I had no clue on how the show would have a huge impact on all of us at the time.
Literally one of the best episodes of the series still to this day Carl & Rick’s performance at the end of the episode when they realize Judith was eaten right out of her car seat STILL gives me chills to this day I’m so excited for you guys to continue this show I feel so bad for everyone but Carl especially because he tried warning Rick about the Governor & told Daryl he had a shot & they just lost everything Within a couple months he lost his uncle Shane had to put the Walker one down after Rick killed him lost his Mom Lori & had to put her down & now lost the prison and nearly everyone there😭
This was my favorite episode of the series for years, up until Rest in Peace.
Best episode of the show right here. At least top 5 for sure.
Season 1 episode 1 still beats this imo, but this is still top 5.
that one aint even close what lmao@@paulssss5463
@@paulssss5463 what xD
Season 1 was the best season of the show, hands down.@@Blurryface_420
@@paulssss5463I agree season 1 was perfect
R.I.P to Hershel great character who brought so much love his theme song R.I.P to the actor Scott Wilson who played this character and who sadly passed away from Leukemia 5 years ago Oct 6 2018 Age 76 He was the ultimate voice of reason right next to Dale and R.I.P to the Governor as well who was a great villain and did a great job at making us hate him great work by David Morrissey portraying this character.
Rewatching the entire show again, I remember hating The Governor then and cheered when he died but I stopped watching after that for abit because it got boring. But now as I rewatched it? The Governor played the best TV Villain I've seen imo. His character arc and everything about him. Goddamn I wish there was more villains like him in TWD Verse. David's portrayal of him was so amazing and his lines he spat out was so truthful.
“We can olive together” one of the best speeches
The Governor: We have a Tank
Us: They have Daryl Dixon
Michonne said he was going to kill him and she did,my girl keeps promises
The Governor got shot in the shoulder, but Rick was shot in the leg and his hand wasn’t recovered from the fight with Tyreese
Tyreese figured he wasn’t going to survive holding his position but wanted to give his sister and the others cover
The bus held on as long as they could but when they started taking fire and the tank approaching they had no choice to evac
Governor had the upperhand because Rick was not at 100% even with a shot in the leg, his hand was still banged up and he is exhausted from dealing with the sickness in the hospital and having to stay up all night fighting off walkers with Carl that knocked down the fences. The Governor was in way better condition then Rick.
Not to mention the Governor is just an absolute beast and is clearly strong as hell. I mean he ripped multiple Walker’s heads open or off with practically his bare hands in that pit.
Hershel’s death hurt the worst for me. He was the loving, grandfatherly figure for everyone and without him there’s a lot less heart in the group. He reminds me of my grandad. Quick witted, funny, and full of advice when you needed it most
Comic Comparisons : in the comics It’s Tyreese who gets decapitated his comic counterpart is actually introduced much earlier than in the show before they get to the farm the battle for the prison goes down a bit different The Governor is presumed dead for a while before he randomly shows up at the prison gates It should be noted that the Governor never kills all of his people or burns down Woodbury so he still had an army with him him becoming Brian Heriot is completely unique to the show I can’t remember exactly but I think their first attack failed Nonetheless they eventually bust through and kill a lot of people Hershel does die in this battle in the comics but not in the same way He begs to be killed after his son is shot right in front of him and the Governor grants him that Rick tries to escape with Lori and Judith but Lori who is carrying Judith is shot and falls to the ground killing both her and the baby after the Governor successfully wins the prison Lily who was already a member of Woodbury and dealt the killing shot on Lori realizes she also killed a baby and gets mad at the Governor when the Governor shows no remorse she shoots him dead in the head after that nothing more is said about the Woodbury group.
That girl walker they zoomed on in the end was the girl who stabbed herself when Rick tried to help
If you thought governor was a monster here you should see him in the comics
The TWD theme is always a great background after a great dramatic opening scene It just adds so much dramatic tension imo.
Been waiting so long for this episode. One of my all time favorites
When Carl was crying about his sister that got too me especially after Hershel.
The Walker at the very end the female with the trench coat is the lady Rick encountered in the forest who kept her husbands head
So few reactors recognize her. Even though her clothes are so recognizable.
Another great reaction RIP Hershel 😭 just noticed you guys are close to 50k subs! You deserve it 😊
Thank you 🙌
fun fact : at 26:10 this walker woman walking towards the camera wearing black jacket is the woman who tried to feed Rick to her walker husband in the forest
Damn I never caught that. Nice
Rip Scott Wilson who played Hershel he died on October 6 2018 from leukemia at the age of 76, rip Julio 20:32, 20:34, 20:47, rip Luke and Molly at 22:30 and rip the Governor at 26:01 and rip the The Prison season 2 episode 13 to season 4 episode 8,
Rip Lori, T Dog, Andrea, Merle, Hershel, Axel, Oscar, Big Tiny, Tomas, Andrew, The Governor, Martinez, Shumpert, Milton, Dr Stevens, Tim, Crowley, Gargulio, Michael, Warren, Haley, Richard, Jody, Paul, Emily, Betty, Mrs Foster, Eileen, Rowen, Eryn, Owen, Greg,, Mr Richards, Mrs Richards, Ms McLeod, Mr Jacobson, Jeanette, Karen, Patrick, Zach, Dr S Caleb, Luke, Molly, Henry, Ryan, Charlie, Chloe, David, Noris and Julio who died in season 3 and 4
DANG bravo for getting all those characters
Loved the emotion you put into this episode Jason. One of the best episodes of the series, but you guys are at peek walking dead! Loving your reactions, keep em up!
RIP Hershel. RIP Scott Wilson.
The way this episode is paced is amazing - just building, and building the tempo to a crescendo matched by an epic musical score from Bear McCreary. How Emmy's weren't thrown their way in abaundance for all of this: acting, writing, cinematography, it had it all - but nada from the lame-brains that run the TV awards. Criminal!
Great reaction. Jason teary, again, but Chance wiping his face at the end - I'll take that as a win!
Rest in peace Hershel.
Worse, saddest dead ever 😔
Not only is the probably the best episode of the entire series both emotionally and symbolically but it's THE episode from which everything changes afterwards for Rick and his group. They realise just how far gone the new world is now. They killed one governor but there could be hundreds of others out there like him so they took peace and morality out of the equation trying to deal with people like the governor again in the future. The only thing left for them is "Survival of the fittest" as a group (what's eventually left of it). Seriously nearly all the actors in this episode were phenomenal. Specially Rick, Hershel, Governor, Carl, Beth, etc.
Side note, this shot at 23:18 is still one my top 5 shots in this entire series. The camera angle and sound design here just amazing.
All time great episode. Saddest death so far. You're half way to 4x16, the most badass moment in TWDu history
Rick speech always gets me we can come back and I know we all can change
G: we have a tank.
R: we have a daryl!
I just watched this episode again tonight for the 1st time in 11 years and I SOBBED so hard dude. Especially when Rick grabbed Carl and they both broke down. This episode was intense and heart breaking.
Rick was shot on the leg and the governor was shot on the arm. Rick got beat in a 1v1 with both being injured. Correct me if I'm wrong. Damn...
they get separate a few times. amazingly how they all stayed in the same area and didnt venture off west across the country though, lol
This episode to the time they found alexandria was when the show was at its peak, and Carol became a badass
Man hershals death is the 1st or 2nd hardest hitting death in the entire show
rick was shot in the leg and hadn’t recovered from the fight with tyreese!
I luv you guys.... so happy and bouncy until it gets real.... its great that you feel the emotion of the scene and appreciate the things going on. Great reaction :)
It still hurts
He’s got a kill streak 😂
Y'all be wilding when the intro plays 😭😭
That's one of the more iconic Rick speeches
Bro I knew ellow govna was too much of a coincidence when I watched regular show with y’all😂😂😂😅
This was one of the best episodes. It’s what got me hooked on the Walking Dead.
Hershel was one bad ass character fr, R.I.P..... Alos R.I.P. to Scott Wilson the actor to.
I knew this episode was coming up and I couldn't wait for yall to get to it
Best episode
You were crying😢 you guys are sooo sensitive, i love it
This is the episode that my brain finally computed this show was NUTS. SO MUCH STUFF. SO MUCH DESPAIR AND DOUBT.
Tank is end game, but they had a Daryl with one grenade and a dream 😅
So this actually goes a lot differently in the comics. In the comics the Governor has a tank at Woodbury and just attacks the prison without ever meeting this second group he finds in the show. The actual attack on the prison is more or less the same except Lori originally survives childbirth so she is still alive in this battle. At the end the Governor is standing in the same field surrounded by Walkers and Lori and Judith are trapped there with him. Lori kicks him from behind causing the Governor to get eaten by Walkers and Lori and Judith die together shortly after.
"Because they aren't mine." - Governor is savage.
Poor Hershel
Was waiting on this reaction
I love that Carl managed to hit the Gov with his shot from that distance while Rick missed. Imagine if Carl had just taken the shot 😭
You two are hilarious and always make me laugh 😂
R.i.p Hershel😢
One of the best episodes of the walking dead
This is the episode I’ve been waiting for y’all to react to. This should be good
The acting n this show is top tier 💯
Govenor got a WAY easier life and death here, than in the comic.
Governor was the best TV Villain I've ever seen and I fucking loved the chaos he brought to the show and his personality switch. There will never be another man like The Governor in TWD Verse again and it's so sad. I remember fucking hating him during this time and cheered when he died, but the show got boring after then growing up re-watching, I realized Governor and Merle carried Season 3 and Governor was some of the best parts of the early seasons of TWD. Then watching all the seasons, there was never a villain that could match how The Governor was. He had no moral code. Everytime he tried to find his humanity again, he'd end up losing it. The thing about The Governor, he wanted to be a good guy but in a world such as that one, it's impossible to be the good guy without being the bad guy. His lines and facts he spat out during his run: "You can lose alot of soldiers but you can still win the game" stands true. He won the war, even in death. He was a man possessed and that's why I love his character so much and happy they didn't kill him off in the Season 3 finale. Instead, give him a false redemption arc then give him one last villain run. A man driven by nothing but vengeance. There needed to be more characters like The Governor in that world.
This hear is a top 3 episode most emotional .
"YOU GUYS SUCK"! When u said that i was cracking up! Sorry guys but u will see the show will get a lot more exciting now.
What are you waffling about? Here starts the decline of a once great show and after season 5 it's unwatchable.
@@Iiva69 I disagree! Because you don't like it, then I guess your done here.
@@Iiva69shut up
This is the hardest episode to re-watch. There are plenty of sad moments in this show, but this one physically hurts me to watch.
Also rest In peace the actor who played Hershel he died a couple years ago of cancer or old age I think
Fun fact, you can see Tara in the background when everyone is leaving Woodbury.
while this episode is very sad it is also start of a ne era these next episodes will change the group and are some of the best
Things have changed big time loved guys reaction
nahhh cuz this episode was such a shock seeing the sisters save tyreese
The difference between the governor in the comics, he chops off Rick's hand, r*pes Michonne, and chops off Tyrese head instead of herschel's. But the show keeps getting better from here I'm enjoying reliving the journey with you guys 👍
Hershel's death and one other death which I won't spoil is the saddest deaths out of the whole show.
OMG wait until these guys get to that point hahaha
If you were disappointed in Rick not being able to beat the Governor, well in all honesty it was more fitting that Michonne killed him. Mainly because of their history together he is technically her enemy most of all.
Now I can reveal something I have been wanting to since the earlier part of season 3. The same attack on the prison happened, yet in the comic Lori was still alive and dies during the prison assault. She was carrying Judith and running when she was gunned down with a sniper. The bullet went through her and into Judith, killing her as well.
Also here's a fun fact. Norman Reedus, the guy who plays Daryl. In an interview he literally said and I quote, "If they kill me off i'm going to burn down my trailer and they will need to get security to get me off set."
I would prefer for Governor to kill Michonne instead.
The governor was one of the best fighters he destroyed Merle
He only beat Merle because he got roughed up by his men.
@grizzlyscalp9506 for like 3 seconds lol
@@kolbyowens7046damn tell me you never been in a fight without ever telling me you’ve been in a fight
@austinm6281 lmao u don't know me but FYI I'm a mma fighter dipshit
21:09 Daryl already saw the walkers behind him.
Governor: we have a tank
Rick: we have a Daryl
When I first saw this I was depressed all week over Hershel's death. And I was hoping Rick would defeat the governor in hand to hand combat. But the way that fight happened has been a controversial topic among fans.
I would’ve made the governor suffer. HARDCORE DEATH ☠️
We get to come back. We're not too far gone. I know we all can change.
Liar
NOOOOOOOO
I cry at this episode everytime I watch it and seeing you two react to it made it no different, Hershel deserved a lot better than what he got, and it makes me feel bad Michonne has to live with the fact her sword killed him. It's never addressed but I'm sure its there in context. The speech that Rick gives is amazing, and I love that Hershel got to see Rick change and come back, he made the old man proud and it always makes me cry harder. Same with the end scene with Carl and Rick over Judith it's so well done and the acting is amazing. One of the best episodes and probably one of the moments that makes me cry the hardest, its so heartbreaking. But I was so glad that Michonne got to put that sword this his heart, she wanted him to suffer and feel all the pain until he bleed out or walkers came to get him.
Michonne is a wild POS. She is the reason for the whole fight.
this is literally the most high rated TWD episode
Up to that point but not overall
@@stephwest1382 it is tho, This episode and No Way Out were the same
I wish the governor was devoured alive by the walkers instead of the head shot kill.
Same, I am really mad at Lily because of this.
@@user-dm6xe4hp3l I definitely understand.
The scene where they saw judiths carrier made me ugly cry ngl
Can't wait for the season 7 premiere reaction..
Im single too guys but im 63 lol
Been waiting
This the best episode fr💯
I honestly thought this rreaction was possibly fake until I saw the tears haha, now I feel bad. There was just something artificial about it but I havent watched yall other than Spongebob, so sorry for thinking that of you two
Definitely top 5.
I'm not your Gov'nor
*In the end.. everyone lose*
hello new here this episode was crazy and if shane was alive he would helped rick beat up the governor
Shane would have murdered Rick and everyone when Lori died,he was insane
Welcome, I'd this rhe first time watching TWD?
@@hippielady123 no I been watching it on TH-cam and I love reaction to it and my favorite is lee clementine and kenny
@@openshuta2000 I have the DVD set but need to add the last season. I lost track of how many times I've watched the entire series. Then I started watching reactions. I watch gray wolf also.
season 7 ep 1 next
Can we take a moment to realize that timeline wise Carl is only 13 and is on the front lines of a battle, god AMC and Gimple fucked this character up
YURRRRRRRR
Sugar walls, lol
first broken heart and counting u.u .....
Daryl got incredibly lucky on that grenade. Had the breach on the cannon been closed, that grenade wouldn't have done anything. But the breach was open, to reload, so the grenade rolled all the way down
Not lucky, he knew that much
Dude was shooting the whole time, so all he needed was timing, which he had
@@leonardolonghi3472 still lucky. The M-60 Patton has no autoloader, its loaded by hand, so timing will always be slightly different. He had no way of knowing the breach was open
@@captainkyperplayz1162 when the guy inside is just shooting non-stop, the timing becomes terribly predictable.
He didn't shoot once, not twice, but a lot more. He was just going on as simple as that, that's why Daryl was confident about the grenade
I dont think he loves her. Hes more focused on being a father to her little girl. He feels like he has his own daughter back.
He would be a good stepdad, but he barely knows her mom and their relationship hasnt evolved that far so the mom feels creeped out.
