Otis was the one bringing walkers into the barn. But sadly, Shane killed him before Otis could know that our group was looking for a little girl. Hershel had no idea who was inside the barn
Otis killed her
@@nick4k390 Why would Otis kill her?
They are going to figure this out watching the show why are you explaining these things in the comments prematurely.
@@sallyatticum Sophia didn't die in one night . Otis found her and killed her .
Here’s my thing, if everyone who lived on that farm knew this group staying with us was looking for a little girl and you had someone who went a fetched walkers to store in the barn, wouldn’t your first thought be to look in the barn to eliminate that potential of her being dead or alive in there? I mean they go in there to feed them could’ve they been like “what she look like” and go look inside?
the unexpected appearance and end of Sofia was, and remains, a shock to the viewers. And again, Rick had to do the hardest while everyone who constantly challenged his decisions stood numb.
This episode was extremely heartbreaking for so many people it was a lot of people’s first moments realizing that The Walking Dead does not mess around.
The “enough” scene with Shane is one of my favourites! He’s not wrong in what he’s saying but his delivery is to much! Great acting from Shane (Jon Bernthal!) RIP Sophia poor Carol!!
I feel bad for Hershel because to him the walkers were his family so just imagine someone doing that to yours
He knew that they were no longer people when Shane put several bullets into one (including their lungs and heart) and they did not go down.
@@AlexTommo I get your point but for me I viewed it differently.
I thought it was more like "he's shooting my family" to "he's right..." and then he had mixed feelings about what Shane did because although Shane opened his eyes it was still not his decision to make.
@@34YU_ ah yeah, from a sentimental standpoint rather than his ignorance of reality. You are right.
Rick is the GOAT. This is the moment that made him the definite leader.
and then shane tried to kill him.twice. 😂
I don't think it was him becoming the leader, it was him taking responsibility for getting her killed.
@@brittanylewandowski6200He didn't get her killed at all. All she had to do was stay in that safe place...and I blame Lori more than anyone, she was the one holding Carol back when Sofia was chased by the walker. She should've let Carol go after her daughter, but no one would've been able to hold me back.
I'd say the real moment when Rick takes leadership is the end of this season when he's like. "This isn't a democracy anymore". Thus the start of the Ricktatorship.😂
@@kimberlywilmoth9184how the hell do you not blame Rick the one who was with her in the woods but blame Lori someone who was nowhere near her and was holding Carol back from getting herself killed. Tf? Rick was the one who said he’d handle it and then left her by herself in the woods to find her way back despite her basically being in shock.
Plus Carol herself wasn’t trying that hard to escape lori’s embrace. If she really wanted to go into those woods she would’ve.
Most women don't even suspect they are pregnant until they have missed at least one period. And if they aren't on the Pill, which Lori apparently is not, and aren't watching the calendar, which these people clearly aren't, they might not realize they missed. So I would guess Lori is six weeks pregnant, give or take a couple of weeks.
hmm so do u know how long it was from her and rick reuniting 👀 causeee if it's only been like 2 weeks since he reunited with them... then that's def shane's baby XD
@@mia-yf8pzJudith is Shane’s it was confirmed lol
@@ElixerAlixyeah they confirm it in a later season
One thing that annoys me about the group is that they tried to make Hershels farm THEIR farm. Like they could've moved to another farm fix it up and live there but they wanted Hershels farm specifically. They should've been happy that Hershel let them stay for as long as he did.
So true. It's out in the country. I feel like they could have found some land a little further out. The two groups could have even worked out trades and stuff.
Their reasoning was that they couldn't go anywhere, that it was the only safe space around. It's also a little plot device because in later seasons they do your idea all the time, which is fixing stuff up and live there for awhile, or, they simply hide somewhere for some time and then leave for no reason (offscreen)
@@GaiaLegend To add on, They saw that his farm had renewable, sustainable resources. There was the unknown of whether the wells were clean on other properties, if animals were still alive, if the necessary tools for gardening would be around, etc. With Hershel, they already knew it was well supplied and with Maggies help, they could scavange for more. If they had gone out on their own, they would have to start from scratch with possibly no aid. Consider that Hershel is protective of his family, so unless it was absolutely necessary, would he really let his family go help Ricks group? Later on, the group becomes more capable in navigating their environment and what precautions to take in new locations. It makes sense that they would temporarily fix something up and move on then.
I couldn't agree more. At least Rick had respect for Hershel.
That doesn't make sense from a survival standpoint. Old abandoned farms aren't operable, and they have no animals obviously. It would take wayyyy more effort to try and build up an abandoned farm up from basically nothing instead of just trying to get in good with a farmer whose place is already up and running. None of Rick's group were farmers either, so they'd be trying to start a farm with 0 farming background if they just went off on their own. Sorry but if it's the literal ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE people will do what they gotta do, and taking unnecessary risks just to be more polite is nonsensical. Hershel's group is honestly lucky Rick wasn't into hostile takeovers.
I love this episode the ending is so important because it’s the struggle of leadership between Rick and Shane as Shane says Rick isn’t build for this world but then by the end of the episode Rick takes full leadership of the group by killing Sophia and doing what no one else in the group could do not even Shane Awesome reactions Jason And Chance can’t wait for the next one.
MAN THERE ARE SO MANY MORE GREAT EPISODES IM WAITING FOR!!!!! So glad yall started this!!!!
Shane: These things killed Amy! They killed Otis!
Me: Um...no, Shane. YOU killed Otis. 😂
Great reaction, guys! I will add that when Daryl told Carol he had nothing better to do, he didn't mean he was bored and searching for Sophia was a way to pass the time. Imo, he was really referring to his own deep-seated feelings of worthlessness and his belief that others see him as nothing more than redneck trash that can be of use to them. It ties back to his hallucination with Merle, when "Merle" was basically telling him the group didn't value him as a person in his own right. They only valued what he could do for them. That's what Daryl secretly fears.
Carol saw that, just like she saw it when he was wounded and told him he was every bit as good as Rick or Shane. So she let him rekindle her hope, agreeing with him that they would find Sophia, because she saw he needed that as much as she did. Only to immediately turn around and tragically have both their hopes dashed. That must have been especially devastating for Carol, since she had just started to accept the possibility that Sophia was gone only to have her hope revived.
No matter how many times I watch that scene, I always tear up. Daryl saved Carol's life by catching and holding her. Otherwise, she would have run straight to her walker daughter and certain death. No one else had the presence of mind to do that. They were all too shocked. And kudos to Rick for stepping up and doing what needed to be done, no matter how hard it was for him. Not even Shane was able to do that. One of the most heartbreaking scenes in the entire series.
It’s very important to save Carol. She is a good housewife :)
Shane's reply to you: "No, I shot him in the leg, THEY killed him!" 🤣
@@leonardolonghi3472 Yep, I'm sure that's what Shane would say. And my reply would be: "No, Shane. The walkers were the weapon you used to kill him." 🤣
@@Pharo02 100% 😂
Daryl doesnt really know how to express his emotions well probably due to his past which you get more information on later, so he lashes out like he did with Carol.
This was a sad episode. Seeing Sophia come out of the barn was sad. Rick putting her down was what he had to do. When Glen to the group about the walkers, Rick gave a look. Every time he gives that look watch out.
that look + beard + ax = classic rick grimes!
IMO - Shane couldn't take down Sophia because of his earlier conversations with Carl. Rick knew how important Sophia was to Carl, too, and that's the measure of the man - he stood up and did what was necessary for the sake of the whole group.
The writing and character building is so solid that, just as in real life, you can make your own truths and they sort of hold even if they're not wholly correct.
Similarly, I feel Daryl's frustration directed at Carol was projection as his vision of Merle reminded him: he'd given up on Merle, his own flesh and blood, just as Carol had given up on her own daughter. How this all pivoted cleanly around a native American tale that - IT JUST FITS - Daryl would know of it if anyone would!
The way things tie up in this show it makes it hard to accept it happened by chance but even harder to believe someone sat down and planned it all out! Still - terrific drama, though.
Great reaction, guys. Both of you catching flies at the reveal! 😁
My man vibing to the intro 😂❤ sameeeeeeeeeeeee
We sing it over here like "Boo do weedo weedo boo do weedo weedo" 😂😂😂😂
00:16 That's definitely a knife sharpening block, not a cheese grater 🤣
The power of emotion, seen it so many times but still brings me to tears
This was the episode in TWD that viewers realized that this was not a horror show about killing zombies This was a drama show about human struggles even in the Apocalypse.
This is first true wtf moment of the show Jon bernthal the actor that plays Shane killed it this episode shoutout to him
How is Lori supposed to know she's pregnant before noticing her period has stopped for sure, or if she hasn't had access to a pregnancy test before now? Even in a none-zombie world, women don't usually find out until about 6 weeks and later. Come on boys 😂
It's not like she's been under a lot of stress and had a drastic change in diet or anything.
You know those things that can make women miss periods, feel sick and tired.
The way y’all pronounce Andrea is funny bruh
As an Andrea, I get excited when people ask me how I pronounce it lol
The 3 most typical ways are
Ann-dree-uh
On-dray-uh
On-dree-uh
I'm an Ann-dree-uh 😂❤
If this was like "In the Flesh" Hershel would have totally been justified. Just saying in an alternate universe he'd be lauded as a total ally
@0:20. Knife enthusiasts here. Yes, you can sharpen your knife believe it or not, on just about anything, just as long as it coarse. Hell, you can sharpen your knife on a coffee cup, leather and other just as long as there’s grit on it.
With that said, you can also damage and dull your blade on just about anything too.
🤣 theres another reaction channel that dances along to the theme song too. With this season began the after show The Talking Dead. They interviewed the actors, had stuff you mightve missed, behind the scenes info. And it calmed you down after that chaos, LOL
Hi it’s me again, essay girl 😂👏🏼
Shane does the right thing, but in the very wrong way here. The walkers did need to be dealt with, but notice how when Sophia walks out of that barn Shane loses the ability to be that tough guy and he can’t “take care of her” like he did Hershel’s family. Shane doesn’t care about Hershel and his family or how they felt when their walker family walked out of the barn. Until it’s one of his own people, and that has always bothered meeee. He is ready to destroy someone else’s feelings and perspective but when he is put in the same position he can’t do it either and it was very obvious with Sophia. Rick had to put her down, because Shane froze the same way as Hershel did.
Daryl getting mad at Carol, was Daryl projecting his anger and probably disappointment in himself because he has spent so much time looking for Sophia, and everyone else is giving up hope so fast. I think he feels responsible in some way as well for Sophia, and seeing even Carol lose hope probably made him feel like his efforts weren’t enough. But they are enough, Daryl just hasn’t had the right people around him to show him that until now.
I also just love the talk between Maggie and Hershel too. Maggie has actually seen what it’s like out in the world now, but again Hershel is in fat denial and can’t see it himself. I love Maggie tells him straight up, you can’t be like that anymore, the world isn’t what it used to be.
I just love how complex this show really is lmao! There’s so many good points to talk about. 👏🏼
I also want to add, Rick helping Hershel, was a very strategic decision on Rick’s part. He wasn’t doing it because he believed Hershel, he was doing it to get on Hershel’s good side and build more trust, so hopefully they could stay at the farm, but of course Shane blew up before that could be acknowledged by anyone else.
Shane clearly knew about Sophia being (un)dead (in his mind), but that look was like, specifically because he knew, he did not want to SEE her again, because he knew he would feel bad about her
The moment they saw Sophia all of them acted like Hershel. 10 Second befor they were shooting at the walkers not even caring about saving amo (hitting them in the chest and all) but the moment they saw Sophia no one would shoot until Rick stepped forward.
If it was such a big deal for them that Hershel didn't want to shoot his familie and neighbours they could have just left and looked for another similar isolated farm and make that one their own. Instead they tried to make this one theirs and disrespected Hershels rules after he saved 3 of their peoples lifes (Carol, T-Dog and Daryl) and Otis "sacrificed" himself for them.
Shane is in my top 5 walking dead characters!
In the comics Sophia actually survives the whole comic series
Yep
Wow that's crazy. Especially considering how early they kill her in the show. 😮
@@superdre4892Yeah apparently the actor playing Sofia was getting nightmares from being on the show so requested to be written off. At least that what I’ve heard.
@@AgustinCruz70 aaaaw can't blame her at all 😆
One of my favorite episodes from earlier seasons.
I love your reaction to the plot twist reveal.
Lone Wolves generally don’t survive on their own, no one to keep watch while you sleep. Shane would fair better than most though, he just doesn’t belong in a group.
Daryl’s an outdoorsman, he’d survive the longest.
LETSS GOOO🔥 I was waiting for this episode!! I can honestly say this is where the show really starts to kick off! Also one of my top 5 fav parts in twd is on the last scene where Rick is the first one to make the decision after what they’ve just seen!
This episode broke me when I saw it for the first time. It taught me that the hope and innocence of a child is not enough to overcome in The Walking Dead.
RICK HAS ALWAYS BEEN THAT ONE!!! As a youngin who watched this, I didn’t realize how great of a leader he was! I can’t wait til your introduced to one of my favorite characters who I got to dress up as when I was 13! I’m 22 years old now and this is by far my favorite show still! This episode showed Rick is the LEADER! Don’t care what nobody talkin! This is one of the best episodes💯💯💯
One of THE most powerful moments in TWD no doubt....
Sophia such a wasted potential
Read the comics
Considering Lori probably didn't even suspect she was pregnant until she missed a period, she's probably 6 weeks or more along. And since we know from Jenner that it had been around 50-60 days since Wildfire went global when Rick woke up, and he's only been back with the group and Lori a couple of weeks, I think it's crystal clear who the father is.
fucking love these reactions
Your dance at the beginning had me cracking up. 😂
Heartbreaking episode But notice how Rick was the one to step up in the end and show he’s the real leader.
been loving the reactions keep em coming !
The dancing at 2:49 sent me. Thanks for making me smile even when things are rough
The theme is iconic
The first time I saw Sophia I was total surprise 🫢
Shane’s definitely the father 😂
Yep but a dead man can't raise a child now can he?
if shane didn't go crazy, they would still search after sophia
I still like hershal after the barn incident it's messed up but hershals pretty chill
So sad for Carol to lose her only child and for Carl to lose his first girlfriend. Hope Shane is glad for saying Sophia is clearly dead.
This episode + your reaction was fire 🔥
Love him or hate him.
Shane is the person you would want to have around if you just wanted to survive.
Until he turns on you so he can survive,I’ll pass
@misslilith8021 Well a certain someone eventually turns into him so
well up until he turns crazy i guess
@@Sp1neEdits without Rick there would be no reason for him going crazy 🙃
@@jarvisfowlkes3200no bypasses.
Shane killed the guy who put the walkers in the barn. He not only blew the bottle cap off. He god dang shook the bottle up first
Daryl, hands down, would survive the longest. From what we know of his childhood he's been traing for this all his life
I’m glad that nobody is spoiling the series for them but Um glad we’re at least talking about it
It's been confirmed through interviews and than a line seasons later that the baby is Shane's. Rick wasn't around long enough for Lori to become pregnant and know as most women don't know they are pregnant till six to eight weeks along.
Lori says "it's never going to be yours" because she knows Rick will be raising the baby much like dads who step up. Which is fair. But ooohhh, what she says later solidify my HATRED for Lori
Sophia😢
Chance low key trying not to cry😢...many more episodes like this to come
This is when Rick becomes the official leader Shane couldn’t step up when he saw Sophia and Rick did.
This is me and my daughter’s favorite episode of all .
This is one of those moment where even though there are big differences in how things play out in Show vs Comics..I liked both versions. In the comics Sophia wasn't turned, but they still opened the barn and killed all the zombies in there. It ended with Hershel putting a gun to Rick's head and telling him to get the Fuck of his property (Hershel is very different in the comics XD).
Bro I love it some much when chance is vibin with the TWD theme song and then Jason skips it and chance looks over at jason like 😒
She missed a cycle. It's how women usually know early on, which means at least 4 weeks or more.
Yall fianlly jammed to the theme song again
Maybe Hershel needs to see the bicycle girl walker, or one with no body just a head, maybe he’ll get it then 🙄
Definitely still one of the most groundbreaking twists in TWD history.
Jon Bernthal stole this episode and the entire season. One of the best characters in TV. Been years since this aired and still talked about as one of the best written characters.
At the earliest one would take the test if they are pregnant is two weeks from fertilization - in Lori's case i think it would be at least a month before she took it. Cycle can get easily fucked up under stress and low food quantities and it can be irregular anyway, also she had been suspecting it for a while before taking the test it seems.
Lori is my most hated character of the show :D
my favorite episode, lots of meme source
The bigger they are………the harder they fall😂
The first really big shocker in this show. It won't be the last.
Did you guys see my recommendations for dub anime reactions
I really wanted Sophia to survive, I wanted to see her character grow
mannn so sad episode... Amazing reaction ++++++++++
I think you guys should watch the show daily beacuse if you dont you might be done by easter or smth
Jon Bernthal (Shane) stole the show in this episode Incredible acting.
He reminds me of Trevor from gta5
Shane is the father!!
Funny that Shane wants people to think he's this great guy & Daryl is the polar opposite...he wants people to think he's an a**hole that doesn't care buts it's impossible not see how great he is. In a one on one street fight, I'd take Daryl all day. Shane's a big dude with more muscle maybe...but that doesn't always win fights. Shane doesn't have the grit like Daryl. He learned his skills in real life, by doing. He's obviously a great tracker & hunter. I feel like skills learned out of necessity are more likely to stick. And I think growing up w/Merle as an older brother speaks for itself.
Hello 👋
Another awesome video, 👍👍
I personally think since Lori and Rick (if he agrees with Lori, since he did not say anything to the contrary when Lori says it), have no way of knowing who the father is, they should be adult enough to have Rick and Shane share fatherhood, with her telling him even if it is his, it is not going to be his, was wrong on so many levels and with how Shane has been acting a bit more psychotic by the day this could have quite a negative affect, 🤔
If they did choose the father sharing, it just might settle him down knowing he did not lose everything or….. it could still backfire, 😏
Have a safe and wonderful week, 👋😀👋
Me when I see 3 katanas post a the walking dead video 😀😀😀😁😁🍆🤚🏽
Finally
And this is where everyone started to see Rick as the leader Shane broke the doors but wouldn’t raise his gun to Sophia Rick did He took that responsibility so no one else would have to have that guilt In my opinion anyway Shane was a necessary evil yes but he made a situation and then couldn’t follow through on it Rick cleaned up the mess caused by Shane’s actions.
Saul this
Lori and Shane had sex the day before rick showed up, so it could be either. I'm guessing she is about 3-4 weeks.
Why do people apologize for saying zombies? Its the samething.
The guy who lost his brother from the roof. I'm surprised he made it this far
Spoiler: Hes one of only 2 characters that were in the first season to make it to the end of the show
