I love how Michonne can not only tell Rick what he needs to do without hesitation and he listens most people don’t do that.
From almost giving her over to the Governor, to becoming as close as family. Ya gotta love it.
It definitely shows how much he trusts both her, her judgment, and her capabilities. Rick can be really stubborn about trusting other people's judgment, including Carl's. It also shows how good Michonne is at dealing with people in general now that her walls are lowered. We saw it back in season 3 when she was able to get talk Merle of all people into having a change of heart and even without fighting him. She just used her words. The episode "After" wasn't just a coming of age episode for Carl, but it was an episode of Rick learning to step back, and Michonne to learn to stop running from human connection.
I love the Michonne chooses life scene from “After” probably Some of the best and most cathartic walkers killings….yet.

The scenes with Rick hiding in the house from the claimers is soooo intense!
The timing with the group in house yelling wasn’t “lucky”
Rick left the bathroom open on the dude he killed knowing that he would turn. There was a sudden walker inside for the group in the house

That scene at the end of the episode gives me chills the way Rick is like let’s go we’ve been through a lot even if this is a trap or if it’s legitimately a good place to live we’re going there.

Michonne and Carl is probably one of my favourite friendship in the series Michonne and Rick is a very close second if not tied with Daryl and Carol I love their dynamics.
It's definitely my favorite friendship in the series. To see how antagonist Carl was to her back in season 3 and how they connected through respect and trust that Carl was upset when Rick told them about giving up Michonne. Even in the first episodes of season 4, you see their bond and how much Carl missed Michonne and how she seems to be her most casual and calm with Carl. She treats him like an equal and he respects her authority.

There's just so much about this episode that I like. But watching you guys like it too is just a bonus... I said BONUS! Michonne and Carl clearing was so wholesome - the way they bonded... come on guys, you know what I mean. And then there's Rosita Espinosa - GUYS! - I said BONUS!

Abraham is by far my favorite character. I named a bad ass feral orange tom cat I rescued after him haha.

There are a lot of nice moments in what is mostly an exposition decent slow character building development of an episode More of Michonne’s backstory Carl coming out then creeping right back into his shell Our introductions to these two new groups are interesting One feels like it’s in the most noble of missions the other not so much Rick’s adventure through the house was almost ninja skilled assassin I swore the first time I saw this that he would quietly sneak out of the house It just felt that badass.
The other three are a bit more fleshed out with their mission and all Well sort of since it’s classified I still think that the woman Rosita wears the most cutest post apocalypse outfit That includes Doctor Mullet Eugene Porter I always thought it was hilarious that a barely recovered Glenn thought he could one punch Abraham and walk away It’ll be interesting to see things come together If they do 3 hours away by car is a long distance.
