This video popped up in my recommended to watch page and I feel so blessed to have seen it. I related to everything you spoke about and even took 2 pages of notes. Thank you for such an inspiring video!
Wow, this is really helpful. I totally agree with you. I mean, I experienced what you've said. I am an Indonesian, teach art in an International school in Bali for more than 15 years. I struggle a lot still. Class management, organizing art suplies, consistency... etc. I still have learn a lot from you. Thank you for sharing. I will watch this video over and over.🙏🙏🙏
This video was the most useful I've seen about teaching art but also jiat teaching techniques and strategies that can work for most teachers as well who are stuck. O took down so many notes and that I want to implement and really plan out for next year. Great video. I wish there were more like this. This is the kind of professional development I'd actually want to go to.
So many ART EDUCATION books and articles are theoretical and abstract ideas about art. Your video presents tangible and concrete concepts for managing the art classroom in a realistic way. I do wish we could have seen your visual presentation but hope to find more information on your website and blog. Thank you for your VERY USEFUL realistic ideas for managing the art classroom.
How can I take the month long training for classroom management that you had mentioned. There is always more that one can learn. The school year will start in one month. It is time for me to prepare any improvements that I will make. Thank you ahead of time for any help that you provide. Your video here was already helpful. Now I am excited about learning more.
I can relate to every situation that you discussed. Thank you for helping me with improving my classroom management. Do you visuals of all these signs that you had mentioned? Do you have a typed out list of all these techniques? I want to use them in my classroom to make a bigger difference for the students.
Art education college programs need to teach classroom management. I graduated 8 years ago and all They focused on was pedagogy. If you can’t manage the class, you’re doomed to fail.
Disney movies, especially the pre-CGI ones which were all hand drawn, colored, and rendered,, are good examples of art in motion. And, you can't understand how they would be appropriate for an art party?

I can tell from your lecture that you are a great teacher! thank you for the information.
It would be helpful if the handouts and links you provided to your audience, would be posted here in the description as well, so we can see it too.
Thanks for the suggestion - this is from 2013 so that content is no longer available.
Great classroom management strategies for the art room. I will certainly use some of these ideas in my classroom.
