Don't apologise for not making a video Matty, your health and family are number 1 priority. Happy new mill Trevor 👍. Another great fly cutter build. Thanks for sharing
My Dad did Chemotherapy back in the 70s. He began to get sick 24hrs before the treatment because he knew what was coming. Hope its easier these days. Hang in there Matty, its worth it.
No worries about the video schedule! I know you said before that shop time and making these was good mental therapy, but your health is far more important than our entertainment! Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Great job Matty. Trevor will be a happy man. We have a joke in our household how we (hobby machinist) are very good at taking a large piece of metal and turning it into a small piece. Cheers Mike
Happy days G'day Matty, hope you're feeling better mate, don't need medicine making you sick Uncle Trevor is a lucky bloke, that's a beaut of a fly cutter Have a great one
Hey Matty, good news to see you back. Good luck with the two remaining chemo sessions, then we all hope that you licked that rust and it's gone! A nice fly cutter you made for your mate Trevor. Thank you for posting this for us to marvel at! Cheers, -Robert 👍💪✌
I know that Trevor will be ecstatic with that wonderful gift. Not only is an excellent bit of craftsmanship but more so because it comes from a good friend. Your skills are indeed impressive. Wishing you all the best Matty.
You’re a great mate to have Matty, Trev is gonna be rapt with the tool. Sorry the treatment knocked you around mate, better times ahead. Have a good one 👍🇦🇺
Hey Matty, Next week we will be giving thanks for all that we hold dear. You are a good man, Matty. Trevor is lucky his dad has such amazing skills and a big heart to boot! Great to have you back. Don't apologise for resting and not making a video, your health is more important. Look forward to your next video, when you are up to making it. God bless you heaps.
Sorry to hear that you were crook after your last treatment. Great to see you back in the shop. The fly cutter looks mint hopefully Trevor will get lots of use from it.

Once again, a beautiful piece of work! Wish I could get a perfect finish like that every time like you do. You are truly a perfectionist. Looking forward to the next video. Please get plenty of rest and take care of yourself. Hope your treatments go well and you are totally rid of cancer soon.
Gday, You can get the same finish as well, its all in the speeds and feeds and good inserts I've found, Im hoping this rust converter is doing its job mate, time will tell, Cheers
Another quality job well done Matty. That sine bar setup is a game changer. Joe Pi does a good explanation on setting up to cut a morse taper. Good to hear that there's only 2 more treatments left. You never have to justify yourself to us when you're going through kicking C to the kerb mate. Trev's going to be like a kid at Christmas with his new tool lol

Good looking fly cutter Matty, I made mine on 15'degrees to it works great I use the round carbide tooling, excellent finish, great video, keep'um coming.
Hi Matty, I'm not a machinist and I don't own a mill - but I want a fly cutter - LOL. They make such a beautiful finish. Awesome job, Trevor will be very happy with his new fly cutter. Take care of yourself and good luck with the chemo - hopefully it will not be as bad as last time. Regards, Dave
Good to see you again Matty, glad you are feeling better ❤ Trevor's mill looks really impressive, but will look even better with your fly cutter in it. Trevor should be really pleased with it. I like the fly cutter finish over the face cutter, it's just more appealing to me. That angle plate for the more tapers is a nifty piece of kit, which would have saved many an hour back in the day. Hi Matty. Nice to hear you only have 2 chemo sessions left all will go well 👍. Great fly cutter I have just seen you make my next project (the fly cutter). Nice mill Trevor has HM48B. I have the same model only about 6 months old. I have made 5 quick change tool holders , the one that you made for Trevor a while back, did you have it hardened??? Stay well Cheers Greg. 👍👍👍Ulladulla
Gday Greg, Thankfully only 2 more treatments, Then I made the tool holder for Trevor I made sure I used a high tensile material, I believe it was a piece of T1, I have no way of heat treating here and honestly I dont think it needs it, Trevor has used the holder quite a bit now and its as good as the day I made it, Thanks for watching mate, Cheers
You seems to be coping with the chemo well. It took my friend (97y.o.) several weeks to feel better after similar NHL treatment . Great job with the flycutter - as usual 🙂
*_Great job on the finish. Gave me something to think about when I make my fly cutter. You nailed and taper. My compound is too beat up to trust. Eventually when I get a surface grinder Ill dress it up, make sure it's perfect and maybe then I can trust doing a taper._* 🤙
Hi Matty, I bought the same digital level as yours a few weeks ago, liked it so much bought a second, the first one was spot on against my sine bar, the second one was 0.5 deg out, calibrated and both read the same. Only Sutton taps for me.
another excellent job, you do not need to be apologising for missing a week, your health is the most important thing. keep on keeping on, you got this. all the best, see you when we see you :)
Another cracking job Matty, I really don't know quite how you manage to get such good finishes. I'd really like to see how the taper bar works, I've never seen one before. The same mill as Trevors here in the UK fitted with a power feed would be over 1000 Aus dollars more expensive. I bought mine second hand for £1,000, barely used, but it does have issues. Update, went back through your videos and found the sine bar video.
Gday Bill, The sine bars a brilliant, Every taper ive done since having the sine bars have been spot on and fast to setup the compound, The mill new is around $6k, there not cheap but nothing is nowadays mate, Thanks for watching, Cheers
Nice little trick, Matty , to use a ball end mill when a countersink isn't practical . The only thing good about those brittle taps is that they are much more likely to disintegrate when you drift the broken ones out . .... give me good ol' hss any day for tooling when not making production runs . Beautiful work, once again ! ..... Thanks for the video, Matty !

G'day Matty. Very nicely made flycutter, just a shame there's so much material that had to come off. Wondering why you didn't cut the thread while the shank was still straight before you turned the 3MT Overall very nice unit. Should work nicelly on the Hafco Mill..
Gday Ted, To be honest I forgot to cut the thread before I took it out of the lathe the first time, there was a fair bit of material wasted but it was good fun pushing the lathe a bit harder, Thanks for watching mate, Cheers

Gday John, it was a battle to get this job done mate, I’m really not looking forward to the next treatment, don’t think it’s going to be good, thanks for watching, cheers
Glad to see you back after a bad week because of the Chemo, my sister is going through it as well and some days she just does not want to do things so fully understand what you are going through so no apologizing needed for your absents. Is there a reason for not making it in two parts to save wasting so much of the larger stock
Gday, The chemo really takes its toll on the whole body, Its bloody horrible, I made it as one piece to keep as much rigidity as possible, I never worry about what material is being turned off, its the quality of the end product I look at, Thanks for watching, Cheers
Gday Jason, just keep a positive attitude, chemo isn’t nice but it’s just gotta be done mate, I’ve got 2 left now and I’ll be happy when it’s over, cheers
Matty, I have to admit... I watched this too early in the morning. When you were showing the first chips on Trevor's new mill, I though you had started on the project. I paused the video, and tried to figure out what optical illusion I was seeing. I even put on my damn glasses. I rewound it, paused it.... I even pulled a pooch and turned my head 90 degrees left and right, Then I hit play and heard your voice describing first chips. I am blaming this on not enough coffee......
Great job Matty. I've been wondering if Jim Enos ever got the shim spacers made. In his last video/email I said I still wanted a set and I'm thinking maybe they are ready and forgot to tell me.
Don't apologise for not making a video Matty, your health and family are number 1 priority.
Happy new mill Trevor 👍.

G'day Matty. Very nicely made flycutter, just a shame there's so much material that had to come off. Wondering why you didn't cut the thread while the shank was still straight before you turned the 3MT
Overall very nice unit. Should work nicelly on the Hafco Mill..
Gday Ted, To be honest I forgot to cut the thread before I took it out of the lathe the first time, there was a fair bit of material wasted but it was good fun pushing the lathe a bit harder, Thanks for watching mate, Cheers
Another amazing tool👍you make it look so easy.
Thanks mate, Cheers
Good luck with your chemo next week Matty.
I'm on a two week break myself.
Regards,
Duck

It not good to hear that you got knocked around by the chemo Matty. I hope it is better for your next session.
Nice machining as usual. The fly cutter came out great.

Thanks Matty missed you last week, what model is Trevor's mill? We are with you all the way.... Till next week
Gday Danny, Trevor brought the HM48B mill, Appreciate you watching mate, Cheers
Great video and work Matty
Thanks mate, Cheers
Glad to see you back after a bad week because of the Chemo, my sister is going through it as well and some days she just does not want to do things so fully understand what you are going through so no apologizing needed for your absents.
Is there a reason for not making it in two parts to save wasting so much of the larger stock
Gday, The chemo really takes its toll on the whole body, Its bloody horrible, I made it as one piece to keep as much rigidity as possible, I never worry about what material is being turned off, its the quality of the end product I look at, Thanks for watching, Cheers
G'day Matty
Gday Mate
Good job mate
No worries mate, Cheers
Wow Matty you did a great job on that I’m telling ya.I’m 1 chemo down 5 to go. Cheers mate.
Gday Jason, just keep a positive attitude, chemo isn’t nice but it’s just gotta be done mate, I’ve got 2 left now and I’ll be happy when it’s over, cheers
Thanks Matty you to mate take care.
Defiantly not enough coffee mate...
Great job Matty. I've been wondering if Jim Enos ever got the shim spacers made. In his last video/email I said I still wanted a set and I'm thinking maybe they are ready and forgot to tell me.
Gday, slip Jim an email and he’ll look after ya mate, the gauge blocks work a treat, cheers
I did Matty and it's on the way. Hope all is better with you. @@MattysWorkshop
