Who am I?
Expert singing teacher, specialising in teaching children and young adults in singing and musical theatre. She has worked with the likes of The Saturdays for MTV, on shows such as Just the Two of Us for the BBC and many more. Throughout her years of teaching she has judged in many competitions, judging Lucy Spraggan, George Samson, amongst others who have gone onto succeed in the business.
I am the founder of Vocaltutor, (founded 2003) the UK’s largest vocal and singing tuition network and now The New Foundry Studios which opened in 2013.
I have worked with BBCTV on Just the Two of Us, with many celebrities including Natasha Hamilton of Atomic Kitten, plus has worked for ITV on many children’s TV programmes including The Worst Witch, as their vocal coach.

This was the song which made me a lamb. It hit number one when I was 14. I was just in love with her voice. Nine years later, I got to see her live for the first time. No one can beat her live vocals, they make her recoded stuff, sound muffled. I almost fell to the floor when she sang this song. Just perfect. Thank you for sharing this with us x

Her Tokyo Dome concert 1996 is the best concert of all time...in my opinion...her range (4.2 octaves - C#3 - Eb7) supported range (Eb3 - G5 - Bb5), her Daydream tone, her songs, vibrato, resonance, breath support, ease, her hairstyle, her outfits, her smile, her laugh, her personalisty...INCREDIBLE!❤️❤️❤️

Holobenthic Supported means that note is singing with no jaw or tongue tension, no throatiness, with neutral larynx position, with good breath support, not shouting or yelling, without uneven vibrato🙃
Mariah’s lowest supported note was Eb3 in “Open Arms”. Her highest chest/mixed supported note was G5 in “Hero”. Her highest falsetto/head voice supported note was Bb5 in Fantasy💁♀️

There’s a part in this song that you have to hold the note for like 15 seconds, it’s extremely hard to sing 😭💜
Actually it needs to be 20 if you want to immitate the studio version. But beeing able to do it live after so many performances beforehand is just impossible. Love her so much!!

Most people think the original is the 1971 version by Harry Nilsson, because that's the version that was widely known and it's the version she covered, but the original was recorded a year prior to the Harry Nilsson version, by a British Powerpop band called Badfinger. There is a lot of tragedy behind this song, regarding the two writers: Pete Ham and Tom Evans. Badfinger struggled with a host of legal, managerial and financial issues, leading to Ham taking his own life in 1975. Over the next years, the surviving members struggled to rebuild their personal and professional lives against a backdrop of lawsuits, which tied up the songwriters' royalty payments for years. On the night of 18 November 1983, Tom Evans and bandmember Joey Molland had an extensive and heated argument on the phone regarding past Badfinger income still in escrow from their previous record deal and the "Without You" songwriting royalties Tom Evans was now finally receiving, which Molland, former manager Collins and bandmember Mike Gibbins all wanted a share of. Following this argument, Evans hanged himself in the garden at his home in New Haw, Surrey, on the morning of 19 November 1983.
