I started investing in a Belabox because I seen another streamer use it. Recently came across one of the other encoders you mentioned here, one of the TBS. Not knowing the major differences, this video was really helpful and cleared up a couple of questions I had in mind.
Great Video and nice explanation - I was looking for a IRL-Bonding last Year. This Video would have helped me a lot. I chose Belabox and don't regret it. Its the perfect low Budget Solution with basically no compromises.
You really know this stuff, loved your breakdown. I have been using a GoPro for IRL streaming my bike rides via RMTP and since a recent update from GoPro things with the stream have been much more stable with it, and the ability to stabilize the motion on the bike so well makes the GoPro really good in that respect. I also LOVE having the GoPro be wireless, no HDMI cable is amazing to hop off the bike and have a quick look at things, etc. So I'm stubbornly trying to avoid an encoder. The problem I have is with RMTP I can't use h.265 has you have mentioned, and when I'm in low signal areas things get dicey. When I run off my phone for the video capture I can use SRT/h.265 and also with Speedify I can bond together a wireless hotspot and the SIM on my phone to keep the video strong and beautiful. I am trying to figure out a way to get the GoPro wirelessly (within range of my phone) to become more stable. Do you know of an Android app that can CAPTURE the GoPro's RTMP signal, convert it to SRT and then upload from there? That way the signal from the GoPro -> phone is on a (fast) local wireless network and the hop from my phone to the internet is a bonded h.265 signal.
Currently the only two solutions, that allow a RTMP/h264 wirelessly to an encoder using a protocol using HEVC or AV1 are Belabox and the Muxmodem. Muxmodem has not shipped their first badge yet (I have one on order) and Belabox takes some fettling to get going. Both are bonded encoders though.

My preference would be Belabox on the Jetson Nano, simply because it's the one, that supports h265. I uses less bandwidth and the picture is much clearer, when you have little bandwidth compared to h264. Belabox takes a good bit assembly and getting the right components, to get going though.

I build an bonding router on Rpi4 with OpenMPTCProuter which is much more stable and effective and cheaper than Speedify - the VPS could be in your country cheapest 1 vcpu\1 gb ram an works really good

I am considering bonding speedify hack in Yolobox Pro, but I worry cause it's not official and so it'd be nice if they added bonding support officially via speedify or something else like that.. I am thinking how to bond, perhaps via the rpi4 box to ethernet to the yolobox pro, or your last solution will watch your other videos now :) I wish someone would just do a super cheap dual or quad LTE/5G bonding system alternative to the LiveU or Teradek solutions I filmed many years ago..
You are running into a multitude of issues here: - LiveU have created a proprietary bonding solution for RTMP / TCP, which is designed for just that. - Belabox is designed around SRTLA, which is a bonded SRT stream based on UDP and specificly designed and optimised for that. - The upcoming MuxModem (and yes, I willl have one of the first ones) is a customized bonded solution loosely based on WebRTC. - Speedify is a universal bonding solution with optimisations for streaming. - Kiloview is using a proprietary system to bond their streams. At the end of the day, the whole bonding is a non-standardised market and that makes it very difficult. Only real world testing shows, what they are capable off. Unfortunately, I'm still way behind on my videos on the matter. But I will get there.
@@EmeraldAudiovisual how do you like the Raspberry Pi 4 Speedify solution, maybe it's good for me as I'd like to optimize bonding streaming upload bandwidth through to TH-cam from a Yolobox Pro.. so I am thinking to tether 2 or 3 or 4 LTE/5G smartphones (with different carrier sim cards) through that, which then is outputting that bonded Speedify bandwidth via the ethernet to the Yolobox Pro.. I hope they do a firmware update for the Yolobox Pro to officially support bonding, perhaps they offer it on their cloud server (which they use now but only for multi-streaming to multiple platforms at the same time as far as I understand) or if they'd just support that Speedify app officially, and if possible add support for 2 more USB LTE/5G modems or tethered LTE/5G smartphones on that built-in USB port and Type-C port. and somehow if Yolobox Pro can update the firmware to support H265 encoding, I guess that would be awesome for their users too, though I guess that usually requires a new hardware upgrade.. although the Snapdragon 660 used in Yolobox Pro seems to support H265 encoding, so one I guess might hope they upgrade it to support encoding with that somehow.. I look forward to your MuxModem video and all your other videos, am checking your interesting Panasonic power bank powering, GH5 mark2 streaming and lots other videos you are posting. This is awesome stuff.. I am on my Panasonic G9 with my unlimited 4K60 hack, so I stay on firmware 1.2, I wish the Gh6 would have used PDAF so I could perhaps justify upgrading to that. Just for PDAF I am looking at the Om-1. I am thinking to IRL livestream from my G9 on my Weebill S + a selfie camera of some sort (still thinking about which one, I might just use my Logitech s920 webcam but as it's unstabilized so perhaps the Sony or Gopro action cams preferable) and add to the Weebill S the Yolobox Pro will be hanging off to the side.. All may be connected to some nice 45W or higher powerbank so I may perhaps extend livestreaming battery life further a bit. And I am looking at a vest to help me with the weight like that DF DIGITALFOTO Thanos or such, or just stick with my Zhiyun belt with monopod.
The Speedify on RasPi (either 3b or 4) works very well. There's a mixed bag of opinions on Speedify out there as a whole, probably because some of their servers might be overloaded at times. So it's best to test, if it works for you and if it does, you should be golden.
very interesting. I have a great studio setup, and am building a portable set up. I have the yolobox pro, and will probably only use one camera with it for now, mostly due to portable power constraints. might just add a webcam as that didnt seem to affect the battery life much with the testing i have done so far.
I was looking for a better managed setup for IRL twitch streaming than I have now (GoPro10 + Media mod streaming via the shitty GoPro app via cellphone hotspot). I was looking into getting the TBS2603SE for the H.265 since I only use a single hotspot and the reduced bandwith would be really helpful for obvious reasons. My question is, can you connect to the TBS2603SE ethernet port via a usb adapter via an iphone's wired connection?
To my knowledge only Android 11 and newer supports ethernet tethering. I don't think Apple iOS does and I don't have the gear to verify this. What you can do however, is take something like a TP-Link TL-WR902AC travel router and use it in WiFi client mode on your iPhone. Then just plug the TBS2603SE into the ethernet port of that router. They are fairly cheap and it should solve your problem.
I have gopro hero 11 black for irl streaming 120g data phone if I invest in an encoder do I need a modem also or could I use separate phone as a hotspot and use USB C to ethernet to connect to the encoder and use phone as modem
Need a million dollars for these setups to IRL it seems, better to just startout and use a mobile with 4g or wait till 5g comes i guess for those who don't have that sort of money. Good luck.
LiveU is excellent aside expensive data , i get interested in belabox data is reasonable price the only thing im not a tech savy btw nice gadgets thankyou for all this info im dumb some gadgets also im new to this things this are great help .
Thats exactly, why there is an appeal for each device. And yes, the LiveU Solo is very user friendly, so for a non tech person, it is not a bad choice.
As I'm not based in the US, my knowledge is a little limited there. It also really depends on what networks works in your area. But I've been told, that Visible (for Verizon coverage) and Mint (for T-Mobile coverage) have some of the best deals for data.
If you're talking about the Raspberry Pi 5, then it's bad. No hardware encoding for HEVC. However Belabox has adopted the Rockchip RK3588 boards since I made this video. Limited to the Orange Pi 5 Plus, Radxa Rock 5A and 5B and the BananaPi board.
The drivers for the HDMI to CSI modules are pretty broken, so that's not going to be reliable, IF you can get it to work at all. The CSI extender boards using HDMI between 2 boards is different though, as they don't use HDMI. They just use the cable in a proprietary way. Belabox is working with CSI cameras. Even USB (UVC) cameras. But trying to use the CSI to HDMI boards is asking for trouble.
Belabox (one L!) Is far superior over Speedify. Speedify is a generic bonder with stream optimisation. Belabox is purpose build for streaming and can not be used differently, hence much more resilient and efficient.

Just be aware, that the USB port on the YoloLiv YoloBox and YoloBox Pro only allows for 720p.

Did you test new GoPro hero 10 with hdmi media mod - is that more stable than in GoPro 9?
There is no difference between the Hero 9 and Hero 10 Mediamod. They use the same Mediamod. And overall, the Hero 10 still has quite a few bugs.

I believe it very much depends on what server you are using. Some of them can get quite busy.
