I agree. parking off site is more convenient cheaper by 50%% and it is very safe. Shuttles takes you right to your cruise.

There is a great parking lot basically across the street from port in Ft. Lauderdale called Park N Go. We try to cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale when we can. They are great. It’s a five min shuttle ride to port from there. We just returned earlier this month from a Navigator of the Seas cruise from Miami. RC has a beautiful new terminal and since it was just a 4 day cruise, we decided to park in their garage. What a breeze that was! We followed parking directions to Level 3 in their garage where they took our bags for us and we just had to go down the elevator and were inside the terminal! It was so easy.

We are going drive down to Mobile day before we cruise. We are going to stay at a Marriott that does a park and cruise and take a shuttle to the cruise port. We cruise out Tampa on our first cruise this year I just pay the $20 extra to valet parking. I have learned a lot watching your videos for our next cruise in February.

I always arrive at port a day before embarkation. I pick a hotel that has a shuttle (sometimes free) to the port and that allows free parking while on the cruise. Compared to paying to park at the port terminal I get the equivalent of a free night in the hotel.

Park N Go in FLL is the best. Port Everglades is a busy, federal port, which means enhanced security and long lines at the gates. Park N Go breezes through their special entrances.

We usually... always do the park and stay. It is just nice to relax the day before in the pool and then likeyou stated its so easy to just hop on that shuttle..they take care of everything and all we need to do is get off the shuttle and head on the ship. :)

I so agree, offsite parking... I usually rode with family to the port & contribute to parking offsite, this year I booked an offsite parking for $42/7 day cruise. In 2011 & 2015 we drove to Miami stayed at La Quinta with my daughters Military discounts was able to park for Free for our 7 day cruise, such a savings

Sydney has 2 cruise terminals, the OPT (Overseas Passenger Terminal) and White Bay. (White Bay tends to have the smaller ships that will fit under the Harbour Bridge) The OPT is right in the middle of Circular Quay and the train station is only a 5 minute walk to the OTP. If flying into Sydney the best option is to catch a train from the airport. This train goes to Circular Quay so there is no changing platforms requred. You also won't get lost from the train station to the OTP because the first thing you see when you get off the train is a dirty great big boat. As for White Bay there is next to no public transport and even taxis and Ubers get lost sometimes taking you there. Luckily for us our daughter only lives 10 minutes away from White Bay so we usually get her to drive us.

I parked offsite this past July. I just didn't want to pay so much for the parking at the port.
I parked at the Fulton Garage in New Orleans and parking was $13.00 if you didn't prepaid online (which was about $10.00). The shuttle was there when I got there and it was soo easy to get out of the garage. The garage was maybe 5 minutes away from the port. Maybe less. My car was was not touched (other than they put a green sticker on my window I guess to say my car will be there for 4 days). Nothing was missing
I'm trying to find offsite parking for Mobile and its very hard to find a parking garage that will shuttle me to the terminal. I live 3 hours away and I wasn't going to come in the day before since I'm not that far from Mobile. I guess I will continue to do research on the parking. If I was going back to New Orleans, I would had used Fulton Garage again.

Not sure about overseas but in Australia the offsite parking stations as well as the onsite parking stations will have deals and it pays to shop around. Tomorrow we are flying to the USA and it was cheaper (with a discount code) to use the onsite parking then it is with the offsite parking stations.

Sorry I am now waffling, however our next cruise required us to be a little creative with our parking. In November we are going on 2 cruises (close to Back to Back but not quite) Our first cruise is Brisbane to Sydney (only 2 nights) In Brisbane they have also 2 cruise terminals. The first cruise leaves Fishermans Island so we are parking our car at the other port called Portside Wharf (Brisbane's International Port) Part of the deal is they will drive us in a shuttle from Portside to Fisherman's Island. After the first cruise we stay 2 nights in Sydney then we fly back to Brisbane. The carparking people will then pick us up from Brisbane airport and take us to Portside Wharf where we will then catch our 2nd cruise (only 3 nights) with this cruise coming back to Portside. After the 2nd cruise we simply pickup our car and drive back home. It is a good cheap way of doing it this way because we don't have to then pay for an Uber or Taxi.

We do use the Cruise Port parking, yes it is more expensive, but easiest for us. Don’t have to handle luggage much, we drive around to front side and porters take luggage there, we just give them a tip. I have a disability that makes it difficult for us to take shuttles, wish we could as it’s great to save money.

A suggestion to look into is long-term parking at the airport. I know all airport long-term parking varies but where I live it’s six dollars a day. So when you park your car at the lot they have a shuttle that will take you to the airport just need to get from the airport to the port.

So looking at the FT. Lauderdale airport parking web page. $3.99 a day to park. Most hotels around the airport will pick you up for free. And most offer shuttle service to the port, for a small fee.

They got the suitcases out of the trunk loaded in the Van. Unloaded them out of the Van and straight to the porters. We didn't have to touch our suitcases once they were in the car.
Also it was much cheaper than parking at the port.

I have a question. Is there a time that cruise ships generally start boarding? I am sure that some times depend on status but they need to get people off the ship and clean so I imagine they have a time that boarding would start.
The reason why I ask is there is a video by another tuber regarding FTTF. They got to the port very early, had to wait, didn't access their room. I suspect they did not understand boarding times and assumed that they could just show up whenever they wanted.

Please explain what you mean. We are scheduled to get on our NCL ship the same day as the Super Bowl in 2025 and parking is a huge question mark for us. The questions are 'will there be room?'.... "how early do we need to be to ensure we get a spot?" The last time we were in a hotel 2 blocks away with a shuttle...the shuttle literally took over an hour to get to the port at 10am. We've got far more questions than answers. We've already been told that if we wanted to same hotel the rooms will be over $1000 for the night so we are looking at hours away for an overnight hotel.
