It will be interesting to know how much difference it makes. You will also be the first channel to do it if you do it!

David hunsinger That doesn't help that much, you can lower the Note8's screen resolution to 720p but still the performance is about the same. I have to admit that this year Apple nailed it with the performance of their A11 chipset, it scores higher on Geekbench than some Intel i5's, and eats out the Snapdragon 835. But everything else is really boring, same design as the iPhone 6 basically.
Angel Guzmán benchmarks aren't everything if you look at the speed comparison between the iPhone 8+ Vs note 8 the note wins and it completes it in 2:01 while in this the iPhone took 2:05
Beats some i5's? Your comparing an arm cpu to a desktop grade one? They both do things far far differently and benchmarks cannot prove this as the scores mean something different on both platforms.

Dude pls try to understand that pixel phones and almost all stock Android phones which do not have any physical touch buttons have some problem as they take time to load the the three on screen touch buttons and iPhone itself has a physical touch button mounted below the screen so it would definitely take some time for pixel to show that three buttons and do the action.

Ignoring that the google camera/calender/calculator are completely different from the iphone ones, even apps like "subway surfer" are completely different applications between phones. Everyone knows developers optimize for iphones because its easier optimizing for fewer devices. These speed tests say NOTHING of the speed of the phones

Can you please do a speed test again with the iPhone 8+ and the note 8? Cause it seems that the iPhone 8+ now is more stable than your last speed test. Also the first lap on the iPhone 8+on this video is quicker than the note 8 on the last video. The iPhone 8 on this video is 1:18 and the note on the last video is 1:30 on the first lap.
One thing want to suggest to you is to show on what clock-speed does the phones are running on the spec sheet with a bracket saying the phone does running on underclocked speed or left no bracket if its run on a normal speed. We all know since the fist gen pixel they always opt to run a on much lower clock speed instead of running the recommended clock from factory like Oneplus did. Hope you read this. Cheers

Hello BRo even if the power efficiency is softer on the battery, it won't be any softer in the processing power. Actually, taking into account the resolution of pixel's display, it did pretty great.

Spookeh I will only briefly mention the many spelling/grammatical errors, and the fact that you wrote about the "made fun of apple" thing twice. Alright, now while the camera frame is improved on the iPhone from previous generations, the iPhone has gone from no frame to a frame over it's evolution. So has the pixel, which only has two iterations. Making that argument slightly shallow. Yes, the glass is used to allow wireless charging on the iPhone(although due to the manufacturing process, any crack makes it not water resistant). The glass on the pixel is also used for NFC, and better reception, therefore not useless. Lastly, the bezels on the SMALLER pixel 2, while large, do serve the purpose of providing stereo front facing speakers. I think what you should have bashed is the relatively small color selection or high price tag. EDIT: those last two things also happen for the iPhone. Don't use those.

Resolution does not effect speed? Higher res textures, icons and ui to load. More memory taken up and mor empower needed to drive the display. It’s just like a pc

PhoneBuff should update his speed test method. Doing a speed test on only 16 apps was okay when phones had less than 3GB or 4GB of RAM. Today, with smartphones with more than 4GB of RAM, plus better optimization, making this test completely outdated for 2 reasons. Every speed tests should have at least 22 apps today for 5GB of RAMS, and at least 25 apps for 6GB OF RAM.
There's something interesting happening here. Usually when PhoneBuff does these speed tests, the resulting headlines in the tech media go something like: "The iPhone blows away the Pixel" or "Samsung gets trounced by the iPhone again." Yet this isn't happening this time around, despite the fact that Apple's A11 Bionic chipset is supposed to be hands down the fastest smartphone processor to date. Instead, the Pixel came close, and the Note 8 outright beat the iPhone 8 Plus. One has to wonder if one of the iPhone's established advantages is eroding and the competition is becoming better at optimizing its software to its hardware. And, if Apple does in fact relinquish its software optimization advantage, what's left? The notch?
That iPhone memory management though. I know it’s better than that given experiences with the iPhone 7. Probably iOS 11 as I know 11.1 has better performance. Interesting if there’s a rematch. Alright, now while the camera frame is improved on the iPhone from previous generations, the iPhone has gone from no frame to a frame over it's evolution. So has the pixel, which only has two iterations. Making that argument slightly shallow.
Yes, the glass is used to allow wireless charging on the iPhone(although due to the manufacturing process, any crack makes it not water resistant). The glass on the pixel is also used for NFC, and better reception, therefore not useless.
Lastly, the bezels on the SMALLER pixel 2, while large, do serve the purpose of providing stereo front facing speakers. I think what you should have bashed is the relatively small color selection or high price tag. EDIT: those last two things also happen for the iPhone. Don't use those.

1440p is pointless on a cellphone which is why iphone doesn't go for. After 1080p resolution gets pointless. Unless you are gaming on a 32in screen or higher. And even then 1080p is fine.

My 7 Plus would keep everything open in the background for like an entire day of browsing. Pixel should be more worried about their shitty as screens than the speed.

Resolution does not effect speed? Higher res textures, icons and ui to load. More memory taken up and mor empower needed to drive the display. It’s just like a pc

honestly kinda surprised at how well pixel 2 xl performed. from my weekend of owning, it seems to reload apps way more than my oneplus 5 :S

Doing a speed test on only 16 apps was okay when phones had less than 3GB or 4GB of RAM.
Today, with smartphones with more than 4GB of RAM, plus better optimization, making this test completely outdated for 2 reasons.
Every speed tests should have at least 22 apps today for 5GB of RAMS, and at least 25 apps for 6GB OF RAM.
I saw the notification of my phone I clicked on it right away, its as simple as that.
There's something interesting happening here. Usually when PhoneBuff does these speed tests, the resulting headlines in the tech media go something like: "The iPhone blows away the Pixel" or "Samsung gets trounced by the iPhone again." Yet this isn't happening this time around, despite the fact that Apple's A11 Bionic chipset is supposed to be hands down the fastest smartphone processor to date. Instead, the Pixel came close, and the Note 8 outright beat the iPhone 8 Plus.
One has to wonder if one of the iPhone's established advantages is eroding and the competition is becoming better at optimizing its software to its hardware.
And, if Apple does in fact relinquish its software optimization advantage, what's left? The notch?
