The boom sections on those rail crane must be made extremely heavy since the do much of their work at very steep angles. Most crane booms are not designed too lift so much weight at those extreme angles let alone actually pick the heavy loads up with the boom instead of the winch line. The general rule is if the boom can not lift it , you do not try too lift with the cable because the cable is usually strong enough to bend the actual boom sections.

Es ist ein Wunder dass sich der Rahmen nicht verborgen hat aber das war halt noch MAK Qualität. Im Jahr 2001 hatte Vossloh noch nicht genug Zeit um da die schlechten Bauteile einzubauen. Unsere Lok 46 (G1700-2) hätte das vermutlich nicht überstanden da sie wie alle neuen Vossloh Maschinen einen dünneren Rahmen hat weil sie sonst die Achslast von 22,5 Tonnen überschreiten würden. Also eine Art Leichtbau Rahmen.

Den Gleis krahn kenne ich auch sehr gut 😋 damit hatten wir damals die Teile für die Lok waschanlage in Siegen gesetzt 😊 aber beim Hering Bau bin ich schon seit Jahren nicht mehr 😊 daher schön zwei Erinnerungen in einem Video zu sehen 🥳

All they had to do was, to check monthly the state the tracks were and to listen to the locomotive drivers when they see or sense something wrong with the rail track. But no, first the 'she's alright, mate' attutude, then when something goes wrong, oh shit!, oh, fuck!. Right? The rails of the track were probably resting on rotten sleepers with holding bolts almost pulled out. And now it's double the jeopardy, the locomotive has derailed and costly to repair, including replacement of the tracks. See? It pays dearly when you employ lazy assholes with that attitude. One person works, the rest just stand there, fingering around. Wonder why they're all fat?

Translation - - The freight train of the Siegener Kreisbahn that had an accident in Neunkirchen-Salchendorf (NRW) on the evening of November 17, 2010 was recovered Tuesday (November 23, 2010) after almost a week. According to the Kreisbahn, the accident was probably due to negligence, which luckily did not injure anyone. The locomotive, which was hung with four wagons, broke through the buffer at the end of the tracks and drove uncontrollably up a bank of several meters. The locomotive itself weighed 88 tons and each of the four wagons loaded with stainless steel coils weighed almost 80 tons, which means enormous thrust. The day after the accident, the rear three wagons could be detached without any problems. The separation and recovery of the locomotive itself was a bigger problem, because the accident site was in a forest area that was difficult to access. A 177-tonne crane crane from Hering-Bau, specially from Trier, was able to help solve the problem within a few hours. First, the attached wagon was separated from the locomotive that was still standing in the embankment, and then the locomotive was lifted using a heavy-duty traverse and put back on the rails. Kommt drauf an... wenn der Rahmen verbogen ist, dann ist ein Neubau wirtschaftlicher, aber sonst durchaus Möglich.
