I also would like to add if the sentence has shapes in it… try to use the shape it self
Ex. The shape of the sun is a circle
Sun = ⭕️

# is properly named an Octothorp.

Octothorpe didn't come around until many many years after the # began being used. It's not the correct term.
It's just one of many correct terms (pound sign, hashtag, number sign, etc).
