Amazing. Thank you so much. I’ve cancelled my interpreter course because of memory retention problem. In second long sentence i loosing details of the first one. You gave me very good memory training ideas. Thank you
I found the video helpful in that it helped me review several principles of note-taking I had forgotten. By the way, thanks for mentioning the SPEECH REPOSITORY, a phenomenal tool, and on top of it is FREE! I started practicing today and putting into practice what I've learned so far about note-taking.

I believe in interpreting in real life, we are all humans and not everything goes perfect, however we need to make sure in the end that the message was accurate and complete by interrupting and clarifying when necessary, but of course that's why a lot of studying, practicing and training is crucial. That's the gist of the job.
Thank you very much for this note-taking training. I've got a question, which is best or easiest to your experiences in note-taking, between using the target language versus the source language? I was once taught by my former boss/mentor when still working in-house as a sworn translator-cum-interpreter for English into Indonesia VV, it is the target language. Oh, you've answered it, so, mixed language will be best?
Can an experienced interpreter please tell me in what language should you write your notes during consecutive… in your language or the language you’re interpreting to? (Target)
