I recognized this fine lady, a friend of Dee, Lady Bugout. Marie taught two of my most favorite subjects in high school. My career in the Air Force was made more interesting beyond sightseeing due to my acquired knowledge of history. Having spent sixteen years in foreign countries helped me tremendously in understanding the wonderful people, their traditions and their customs. Sharing meals and conversations was a life experience reward that deepened my love for who taught me history in my youth. Kudos to you, Marie.

Excellent van, I think it's a surprise to see the amount of space. I would think it's OK to have the external cover on the window when parked with friends but if on your own then it takes away your ability to jump in the drivers seat and be on the move in an emergency 😉
That’s exactly what I thought. I used to camp in my pickup with a custom cap, both had slider windows so I could ninja into the driver seat of the truck & go. And I did have to do that once in a serious danger so the external cover was a huge red flag for me.
As a sun screen it only needs to be on during the day. Parking the van to face west would be enough to keep the early sun out in most places. It would be really useful for regular life when the car needs to be parked and no shade is available. Hot air escapes when the door is opened but the hardware can be hot enough to be painful.
You're good at this, Carol. I enjoy your videos. She had a nice setup. I use a storage cube at home for my socks. Keeps the socks and their mates in the same place.

So pleased to see another smart windshield cover,,, don't kno why others have not realized an interior shade still heats up the glass and interior....total shade on the outside drops the inside temp 20° at times,, Ive used outside cover with magnats for yrs...now my 7 th RV

I 100% agree on the outside windshield cover. It's best to not heat up the glass in the first place. Van dwellers need to do this when parked to the side that's in the sun. It will help keep it cooler or warmer
Love this van. So homey and cosy. Just a little note on the outside window shade. I would only use that throughout the day to keep the heat out but not during the night. You won’t be able to drive off in case of an emergency eg someone trying to break in plus for privacy, they can always lift the shade to look inside.

Aloe-Vesta cleansing foam (1) is my favorite washing technique when not near a "real" washroom. It comes in a pump bottle and you spread the generated foam wherever you want to cleanse. I prefer to use a damp washcloth to rinse, although that is not required per mfg statement. A big advantage is not dealing with the cost and waste disposal of baby-wipes cloths. Mfg by ConvaTec, it is very mild and is widely used in nursing homes and hospital facilities. It supposedly can be used as a shampoo as well.
THanks for the suggestion. I don't use a lot of baby wipes, actually. I mostly use a washcloth, water and Dr. Bronner's soap. I will look into the Aloe-Vesta foam! :-)
Thanks so much for the tip. If it is used in hospitals it is probably a pretty good product. I am always looking for options to stay clean in the road. I will definitely check it out!!

Awesome "twin" vans! These two vans are home on wheels. She sounds to be a wonderful teacher. History was one of my favorite courses in high school and continued to be throughout my 23 years in the military. I was fortunate to visit many of the places I studied about while serving overseas for 16 years. Great interview.

Marie has a nice build for a tiny home. There R many ideas to take away from this video. The only product names and information that I saw was of the refrigerator but then no explanation was given. The external shield was mentioned as a reasonable purchase on Amazon but I do not remember hearing the product name. Sorry if I missed that. I think an important part of these videos is the sharing of information and ideas of different nomads. So it helps to include product names, prices, & where it can be purchased, whenever possible. That way anyone contemplating this lifestyle can see that it is possible. Thank you to Marie for mentioning the company name of electricians who helped w/ the build & where they R located. Nice job
You are.so right. Unfortunately I do not.know how to set up links yet. Just getting videos up each week is a challenge for me. As I was filming the video and Marie was sharing all the great ideas and products she used I was thinking , "I am going to get so many inquiries on these products" and I did. Marie has been very gracious in the comments to answer a lot of these inquiries. I am working with a young man to figure out just how to either set up links or even an Amazon Affiliate account so people can order products directly and more easily if desired. I have to do this in between creating, content, interviews, answering emails and comments, as well as disputing multiple false copyright claims and dealing with You Tube corporate on another critical matrer. Whew!! I will eventually get product info added to all my videos, but it will take some time.

Lovely looking van, so jealous. The windscreen cover I use in the UK, but to keep the frost of, saves scraping the ice off early in the morning, it’s great.
It´s allways great to see, what´s possible with these tiny minivans. And also the decoration inside, the colors, the patterns etc. are important to feel well. A big fan in the roof is a must, with both turns an variable speed. To blow hot air out, and fresh air in. Nice to have a (big) compressor refrigerator. Big food and drinks storage. If you open the box, and use a fan, you can cool down inside like an air conditon. Solar power is useful, for running it. Even the car color is important, to get not so hot inside. Thats why most campers are white color. I build now my own minicamper. Surprise: Also red color. But I need to change in a darker color, maybe dark green. Because I need stealth camping, here in Europe. The camp grounds etc. are closed here in germany, because Corona Pandemy. Wild camping is forbidden. Sleeping in your car is allowed, but strictly rules. And I can´t pay for every night at campgrounds. So I need to be stealth. In the most other countries in Europe, it´s also difficult. And maybe more restricted. Maybe you can get fined, if you only sleep in your car, outside of campgrounds or rv-places. But the most people don´t call the police, if they see you. Littering is a big problem in Europe. And of course the reason, for more restrictions, ie Portugal. But I think, the most garbage comes not from campers - it comes from (young) car drivers.
Sounds like you are pretty much an expert at van life. You are so right about the impact the color of the van has on temperature control. My van is dark grey and is extremely.hot. If I ever build another van out I will choose a white van. From what I see from other nomads it seems Australia has the most liberal laws concerning van life and Canada has the most free campgrounds.
@@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 Thank you, for your answer. Mostly we miss free campgrounds in Europe. I think the gouverments are too afraid, to need to service it. ie garbage. But if you pay, for using the place, so they can pay their clerks to service it. But often it makes more money, as it costs. But I don´t need any service. I take allways and ever my garbage with me. I have my own WC in my camper. I don´t leave any traces. And if you fullfill these rules, I expect free places for camping. I think, in Canada it works. Because they have much respect to save the nature, the forests, the landscape etc. In Sweden too, but they say that many foreign tourists don´t do it. ie littering. So at many parking grounds there is camping forbidden. Just only to park your vehicle, and all you want to do only inside allowed. This looks a bit crazy, for people living in a big country. But Europe is smaller, and if you got problems, you can see it more, as in big countries. So more and more campers and rv drivers starts to fight against it. They collect the garbage from others, to keep the places clean. We hope, that the people and gouverments change their thinking. That we don´t leave garbage - we clean.

I'm saving this video, you're have some good ideas...b4 i started this life style i was neat, organized, and clean this is driving me crazy 😜 21/2 yrs and it still isnt a built camper van ...its a Plymouth voyager minivan. I believe this vans were built for czmping...its an old van, but it still has potential...when i started i came down to rt. 66 mother of the U.S. I love it! Love your video too...be safe.
It takes time for sure to get.it all together and organized when living in a rig. With watching videos of how others are doing it you will certainly get plenty of great ideas.

I’m most impressed! This build represents exactly what I want in every way. That collapsible potty that doubles as a foot rest or stool for sitting, love it! And the front window cover is the best ! Marie condenses all that I like in a van build. I will definitely be watching her channel.

Aloe-Vesta cleansing foam (1) is my favorite washing technique when not near a "real" washroom.
It comes in a pump bottle and you spread the generated foam wherever you want to cleanse.
I prefer to use a damp washcloth to rinse, although that is not required per mfg statement.
A big advantage is not dealing with the cost and waste disposal of baby-wipes cloths.
Mfg by ConvaTec, it is very mild and is widely used in nursing homes and hospital facilities.
It supposedly can be used as a shampoo as well.
THanks for the suggestion. I don't use a lot of baby wipes, actually. I mostly use a washcloth, water and Dr. Bronner's soap. I will look into the Aloe-Vesta foam! :-)

Awesome "twin" vans! These two vans are home on wheels. She sounds to be a wonderful teacher. History was one of my favorite courses in high school and continued to be throughout my 23 years in the military. I was fortunate to visit many of the places I studied about while serving overseas for 16 years. Great interview.
First of all thank you for your service. Coming from a military family I especially appreciate the sacrifices made. Marie and I talked about her teaching experience. She has traveled the world and brought a wealth of experience to her classrooms. So glad you were able to appreciate and realize what a great teacher Marie was.

Marie has a nice build for a tiny home. There R many ideas to take away from this video. The only product names and information that I saw was of the refrigerator but then no explanation was given. The external shield was mentioned as a reasonable purchase on Amazon but I do not remember hearing the product name. Sorry if I missed that. I think an important part of these videos is the sharing of information and ideas of different nomads. So it helps to include product names, prices, & where it can be purchased, whenever possible. That way anyone contemplating this lifestyle can see that it is possible. Thank you to Marie for mentioning the company name of electricians who helped w/ the build & where they R located. Nice job
You are.so right. Unfortunately I do not.know how to set up links yet. Just getting videos up each week is a challenge for me. As I was filming the video and Marie was sharing all the great ideas and products she used I was thinking , "I am going to get so many inquiries on these products" and I did. Marie has been very gracious in the comments to answer a lot of these inquiries. I am working with a young man to figure out just how to either set up links or even an Amazon Affiliate account so people can order products directly and more easily if desired. I have to do this in between creating, content, interviews, answering emails and comments, as well as disputing multiple false copyright claims and dealing with You Tube corporate on another critical matrer. Whew!! I will eventually get product info added to all my videos, but it will take some time.

Lovely looking van, so jealous. The windscreen cover I use in the UK, but to keep the frost of, saves scraping the ice off early in the morning, it’s great.

It´s allways great to see, what´s possible with these tiny minivans.
And also the decoration inside, the colors, the patterns etc. are important to feel well.
A big fan in the roof is a must, with both turns an variable speed. To blow hot air out, and fresh air in.
Nice to have a (big) compressor refrigerator. Big food and drinks storage.
If you open the box, and use a fan, you can cool down inside like an air conditon.
Solar power is useful, for running it.
Even the car color is important, to get not so hot inside.
Thats why most campers are white color.
I build now my own minicamper. Surprise: Also red color.
But I need to change in a darker color, maybe dark green.
Because I need stealth camping, here in Europe.
The camp grounds etc. are closed here in germany, because Corona Pandemy.
Wild camping is forbidden. Sleeping in your car is allowed, but strictly rules.
And I can´t pay for every night at campgrounds.
So I need to be stealth.
In the most other countries in Europe, it´s also difficult. And maybe more restricted.
Maybe you can get fined, if you only sleep in your car, outside of campgrounds or rv-places.
But the most people don´t call the police, if they see you.
Littering is a big problem in Europe. And of course the reason, for more restrictions, ie Portugal.
But I think, the most garbage comes not from campers - it comes from (young) car drivers.
Sounds like you are pretty much an expert at van life. You are so right about the impact the color of the van has on temperature control. My van is dark grey and is extremely.hot. If I ever build another van out I will choose a white van. From what I see from other nomads it seems Australia has the most liberal laws concerning van life and Canada has the most free campgrounds.

Mostly we miss free campgrounds in Europe.
I think the gouverments are too afraid, to need to service it. ie garbage.
But if you pay, for using the place, so they can pay their clerks to service it.
But often it makes more money, as it costs.
But I don´t need any service. I take allways and ever my garbage with me. I have my own WC in my camper. I don´t leave any traces.
And if you fullfill these rules, I expect free places for camping.
I think, in Canada it works. Because they have much respect to save the nature, the forests, the landscape etc.
In Sweden too, but they say that many foreign tourists don´t do it. ie littering.
So at many parking grounds there is camping forbidden. Just only to park your vehicle, and all you want to do only inside allowed.
This looks a bit crazy, for people living in a big country. But Europe is smaller, and if you got problems, you can see it more, as in big countries.
So more and more campers and rv drivers
starts to fight against it. They collect the garbage from others, to keep the places clean.
We hope, that the people and gouverments change their thinking.
That we don´t leave garbage - we clean.
This is a wonderful build. So comfy.

I believe this vans were built for czmping...its an old van, but it still has potential...when i started i came down to rt. 66 mother of the U.S. I love it! Love your video too...be safe.
