A friend of mine had a new '73 Valiant with a slant 6. Fuel mileage wasn't that great, but it was the gov't-mandated anti-pollution controls (that the carmakers themselves had to pay for, thank you) that were responsible for that. Anyway, the car itself was wonderful to ride in and drive, well finished, nicely trimmed, a very comfortable car with good road manners and excellent visibility. The primary truck must have had a 13 speed cause you can hear it, plus the driver keeps going up a gear and splitting back half a gear through the whole movie almost. Plus 1693 wouldn't have reved past 2100 rpm unless they messed with it.
