- In this video, I show how detail Kegs can be much more efficient for the pre wash process than the typical foam cannon. This is a 5 gallon, pressurized keg style sprayer system. It is a new 5 gallon keg. All 5 gallon kegs have an approximate 3-4 gallon working capacity, under normal pressure conditions (70-95psi).
Comes standard with 25 feet of 3/8″ FlexZilla® hose, two quick disconnects, brass trigger, nozzle filter, and two 80° fan spray water saving nozzles, all professionally assembled.

I think their use started with window tinters. Either way great idea
That's why I like my foam more on the runny side. I feel like it does a better job of breaking down contaminants and running off the panel with them.
Plus you don't want a foam so thick it starts drying on the panel when working in the hot sun, before running the contaminants down and away from the panel. Every situation needs a different process!
I wanted to get one. But not practical for a DIYer just cleaning two cars. If I was still doing it on the side I would definitely buy one
You can make your own with a brand new keg for less than 200.

I have a IK foamer with a valve that I constantly pump up with an electric pump and I use that as my prewash definitely more cost effective too since the foam cannnon uses alloy more chemical

I use my keg for 90% of my washes as I mainly do rinseless washes. The keg I have goes up to150 PSI! Hardly take out my pressure washer unless my car is really dirty or prepping for correction.
Normally I do Rinseless but have the MJJC foam cannon in case need to use other chemicals like those from Labocosmetica👍🏼
I can see the kegs being worth it for someone who makes a business out of detailing or applying wraps etc. For a DIY guy who washes their own car once every week or two I would definitely stick with something like the IK 12 series. I've applied rinseless to my entire vehicle(Rav4) without having to repump it up, so runtime isn't an issue for me and it's very functional. Kegs are just too expensive to justify for me.
That being said, you don't always need to justify buying something that makes you happier with what you're doing.
Thank you for this video as I have been looking at a detail keg for the last few months. I am trying to get away from the pressure washer and hose and use rinseless instead. I have the IK big foamer with the air valve but I want more pressure to rinse off debris and road film. I appreciate how you’re always sharing your knowledge to make life easier for the rest of us.
It’s great for a shop application, and SOME mobile jobs, but definitely not mobile friendly. Still serves a far better purpose than a pressure washer in a shop setting!
Am in a wheel chair it's not very easy to carry I set up my garage with a automatic reel for the hose I did wash my car many time I learn trick not going over the Jose with my chair

I had some of the originals from DetailKeg ( i guess he sold or went out of business ). I have been using the pre wash foam cannon for years. So I tried ur method with my 3 gallon keg filled with Surfex-HD. Now I can see where all the grimy areas hiding underneath all the foam and spot treat them with a little agitation detail brush. For me its usually in the crevices nooks and crannies that I no longer miss. Here in San Antonio the mud/clay is very sticky and sometimes the foam just slides off with little to no change.
I AM A CONVERT.
I've been using the big IK foamer and it does the same for me for less money. It just requires some manual labor.

I’m a DIYer but love great equipment- and not a big fan of pump sprayer /marolex or IK. For use with Rinseless wash / APC pre-spray /ect do you suggest the moxilla? Or another vendor ? Looking also for a small keg for wheels - also do they make them for foaming or just spraying. Many thanks ! Owen from Atlanta

For all you weekend warriors, a $10 pump sprayer is all you need - the 'secret' is getting the right mix. In my case I use a mixture of Bilt H. Touchless, Super Clean and hot water that I run through a water filter. Been using this for 2 years and it is 100 times better then simply using a foam cannon.
You are correct Sir. I also use a deck pump sprayer with DI Water for the final rinse, not a garden sprayer. The deck sprayer will give you a fan pattern!
I go to contact right after high pressure rinse because road film is like cement and thus requires agitation to get it off of paint. The key to scratch free results is a good mitt, period.
So for a DIYer, same products in a pump sprayer? Although the alkaline/acidic chemicals might eat them.
That would be effective. You could always clean out your sprayers or check the seals and filters inside them regularly if you’re worried about degradation. There are also acid/alkaline/ketone resistant sprayers

These tips are good for a pro detailer who has a big garage, a compressor, and a lot of cars to clean, Im a DIY enthusiast and I have 2 cars and live in a condo with a commune garage, I can't use a foam or pressure washers and I will never throw my marolex pump sprayer as it is the best thing, I use it for rinsless pre rinse, I use it in touchless washes around town to apply Bilt Hamber, I usualy approve of the tips on this channel but not this one.

Brain that’s very informative of the uses of the keg sprayers! So do you use these for cleaning clogged coated vehicles too or no? Do you have a video or updated video on how you personally clean a coated or clogged coated vehicle? I live in NY by PA borderline and was wondering what is your process and approach to this.

Is it better to have a more runny consistency for the Foam Canon? You can probably approximate a consistency with the same chemicals with a similar result and make sure to make the arc wide so the pressure doesn't wash off the chemical too fast / let's it dwell more
At first sight I was enthused about them because I could use them as a mobile detailer with no power and water supply. But I can`t see what more they are offering than multiple pump sprayers or the bigger pump sprayers (of 5 or 8L).
How can the solutiion remain the same after 5 minutes on the panel? (In my country) it dries before you make a round of the car..
Can you share how you are going to shine/polish the running boards on that black Mercedes?

I foam purple power as part of deacon before doing a correction.
What kind of pressure washer are you using? It looks powerful for being electric. I use 3D Nano Pail Pre-Soak, and for maintenance washes 3D Nano Pail Soap. The pre soak works very well but the soap is really not that good i feel

The pressure washer looks and sounds like it's stripping paint. What pressure is that at?
It’s like a sprayer from IK or something. But i think you can make less bubbles on Foam Cannon - just rotate valve to “-“? But yes, in winter time emulsion is better.
Turning the knob more "-" normally means you're decreasing the water ratio to your mix, creating more foam by using more soap.
I've been doing rinse less on my car that is just dusty after a pre spray. Is this a bad practice?
I do it all the time with great results. I do lay a coat of foam with the pressure washer to dwell for a few minutes before rinsing, prior to the rinseless wash though. I ditched the 2 bucket method a little over a year ago. I'm able to wash 1/wk & year round in south Florida.
I'm just pre spraying with rinse less before contact. Not using the foam cannon at all. @@mygt8a4re

I’m an engineer that works on pressure vessels. For those of you making these at home, PLEASE make sure the pressure relief valve is working. Never replace the relief with a higher capacity one. It’s a small vessel, but enough to cause injury if it ruptures. I do not recommend buying used kegs since they may be damaged or already past their lifecycle.

@@glumdogtrillionaire The first thing any decent engineer will teach about Boiler and Pressure Vessels is that the codes are written with blood. Early failures were catastrophic, usually fatal if personnel were nearby.

Old kegs are rated for far higher than what you'll be adding to do these jobs. You SHOULD be warning people to not pressurize things to 130 psi.

Rather than using an old keg, why wouldn't you just get a stainless steel sprayer that you pump up with your compressor, has a guage and valve under the handle. Thats what i use when not using my foam cannon. Atleast that way you bypass the saftey issues kegs are known for
So now that used Purifica for awhile Purifica or Descale?
Spotless or Purifica? I know they are different but would Spotless be needed afterwards usually??
What we saw was a big nothing since no actual 50/50 was done or a door at the the time or a dirt wipe down post rinsing to additional support either or theory

Can’t you just use a hose sprayer attachment for solution looks like it would do the identical thing
Also- if it’s that bad shouldn’t you just do a physical mechanical wash after the pre wash
And use a iron remover safe for coatings
Nice place. I had to give up on trying to wash and detail my car. Just too much lol. I leave it for the pros now
This will be good for detailer business use, not weekend warriors it’s way too costly imo. There got be a more cost effective way including adjusting a foam cannon, if that what you already have, to foam less and still have the chemical solution coating your car panels. Last resort, get an ordinary gar$en sprayer. These kegs are just souped up garden sprayers at exorbitant prices!
Can we keep things simple for a car wash please? Most people don’t wash their cars.
