You are so wrong. Lots of poor people can only afford to buy from Goodwill and most of the time they can't find anything worth wearing. Why because rich assholes go in a buy up all of the decent stuff so that they can sell it for profit.
Oh please. I see that "sweethearting" in every goodwill i have ever been in! One local GW the manager can be seen saving carts of vintage goods for her boyfriend and looking up prices on ebay for him on the floor! She has been reported to GW many times but she never gets in trouble. Has really destroyed my faith in GW and i am not a reseller!

A foot doctor told me because i walk 28 miles a day at my job, i should be wearing sas shoes. He told me when ever your in a hospital, look at which shoes the nurses wear, they'll be sas or new balance.
Danskos and Hokas are popular with nurses these days, too.

Around here taking things right out of the merch cart is fine. The staff figure it saves them some work, as long as you're polite/careful about it. For anyone wondering, SAS is a brand of old lady/dude shoes that are expensive and well made, but UGLY with a capital UG. Face only a grandmother could love ugly. Just as well, since they're mostly worn be people 80 and up.
That's not true. Years ago I bought some that were loafers and very nice !!! Of course they are made in San Antonio and that's where I found them . I do see a lot of the old lady ones you speak of lol but they make all kinds of!! Very comfortable shoes !

My Goodwill drama today: on the loudspeakers: "Assistance to registers please." A few minutes later: "Assistance to registers please." A couple minutes later: "So-and-so, where the **** are you?!?! Get the **** up here!!!" Guy beside me: What was 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡? Someone is going to get fired!"
Myself and a neighbor came across similar issues when donating items. As soon as I donated a few things the volunteer opened the bag and said I am saving these for myself and put them aside. I was shocked. My neighbor donated a new pair of winter boots given as a Xmas gift to him didn’t fit. Next week went to donate to the homeless shelter more items only to see a volunteer wearing them. He asked about it and was told because they were volunteers they had first choice of items free.
Our local Goodwill is always JUNK. So happy to see a successful thrifter!

Yesterday at GW I found not one but 5 antique Goat bone and semi precious stone, horse hair caligraphy brushes. They were 3.49 each and sell for 10x that. I also found a hand knapped flint tomahawk. Weird day at GW. Of course the rest of there stuff was stupid overpriced.
This is where you look at the big picture, this smaller day added to that huge day is shaping into an amazing week 🥰. Thanks for sharing.

I've sold some of those Footjoy golf sandals before. It isn't always wet out. In my area 9 out of 10 shoes I get excited about I pick up and see they are too damaged or marked up way too high.
Hats in the Seattle area are 5.99 at our Goodwill. Did you say $6 shoes?! Those would be $24.99 at our goodwill

I bought a shadowbox that was have that size at Michael’s a couple of years ago. They wanted almost 40 bucks for it and I got it half price so that price really isn’t bad.
I don’t buy to resell (mostly - occasionally I find things for my Etsy shop that fit my niche, but don’t make much money. I just know someone like me would like it for their own makes.) I watch for the entertainment.

Anyways, I'm in the Dallas Tx Suburbs and the Goodwills in this area are pretty tough picking. Definitely has to be better than having the flu! Fourth day now and I don't ever remember feeling this bad. There is just so much going on at the same time...fever, coughing, sneezing, headache, ears popping. Still not sure how your nose can be stopped up and running at the same time. I hope you feel better! Test for Covid - can take up to five days to get a positive on the rapids now. My whole family thought they had the flu… until day four. Just in time for Paxlovid, which helped tremendously.

Went to a few GW's today and I first shop for me second shop to resell and it's just crazy that they are selling shirts used for almost the same price I can get a WallyWorld brand new. T-shirts are now 6.99, button up shirts are 7.99-9.99 and long sleeve flannels and sweatshirts are 9.99-14.99. I did find me a nice Under Armor 1/4 zip long sleeve for 9.99. Will be a nice for golfing or bumming around in.
Clean Boots use a hair dryer to warm leather and some of the bend marks can be worked out.
Hobo is an expensive purse/handbag brand and I use their Hobo Leather Cream to condition the leather I pick up.
