Can I make a suggestion, instead of shopping at Goodwill where the ceo is the highest paid, go to Salvation Army or DAV where they support the Vets with the profits. I have lost respect for Goodwill since I found this out.
Agreed. So many of these videos people make thrifting, they go to goodwills. Wish they’d realize how scummy they are and are only helping themselves and shop elsewhere. There’s lots of thrift stores that are doing good in the world and goodwill just isn’t one of them.
What? How am I supposed to sing with the music if there is none? I’m not the only singer in the thrift, pay attention, we are everywhere, BUT I would absolutely be respectful on a no music sensory day. Have noticed a few stores in the US have a few days where there are 2-3 hours made for those with sensory issues to shop.

06:31 don’t just look at current listings my man, look at “sold items” to see how many have sold and what they sold for. Even if there are a lot for sale, it’s worth checking how many sell!
The Goodwill stores in the Houston area never have inventory this good. The shelves are always almost empty except for really trashy items. I've been told that the Goodwill employees are wise to the flipping game and cherry pick the best items to resell themselves
Where I live Goodwill employees and their family members are not allowed to shop at the store where they work, only at other area Goodwill locations. Keeps them from setting aside stuff for themselves unless they can get a friend to both buy the item and not keep it for themselves.
I am confused how inflation effects goodwill when they get there stock for FREE. My local goodwill(s),two within 20 minutes from me, has raised prices 20-30%. And employees do Cherry pick items at the closets to me store I know one of them admits it. Rarely buy anything from goodwill anymore.
While Goodwill does gets their stuff donated for free, they do still have to make enough money to pay their employees, the building mortgage, utilities, cost of their semis to move goods they don’t sell, etc. I worked at a Goodwill for almost 8 years. We were not allowed to “cherry pick” items. All donated items had to be out in the floor for one week before we good buy them. We were never allowed to buy things that had tags in the color currently being ticketed. If you got caught buying it before the week was up, both you and the cashier that checked you out would be fired. It’s all on camera.
I don’t know what they see in those bags because I would pass everyone of them. It looks Walmart to me, but I guess there’s an audience for everything.
I am always amazed at videos like yours and the storage units shows at the value attached to items. In this current market only a small group of people have discretionary income to buy what you sell.
Good will is online and all of their jewelry is always hard to get, but many people get silver and gold. They don’t go through the jewelry just pack and ship! Many pieces of vintage as well 👍🏻 prices were not bad now I don’t know how much. Nice jewelry pickup and fishing weights . Always great work for both of you ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
@@beardedthriftmachine Cant speak for all Goodwills as they are divided on the corporate level by region, Southern Nevada Goodwills really didn't get much in precious metal jewelry believe it or not (Mostly in Las Vegas, so people were probably more prone to pawn), and the few metal pieces we received were to be immediately secured in a dropbox for assessing offsite. i know right - that stuff is so expensive nowadays - i use to use a small artificial lure for flounder 4 years ago it cost $.50 each now they are $3 each
I really think they have lost their minds charging what they are charging! It’s ruined all the fun and I can’t see how they are helping the poor when families in need can’t go in and buy things for their families at those prices.
