I made a boo boo. I said slice the beef 2 -3cm. What I meant to say was 2-3mm. I know. I'm such an idiot. Any case just follow the recipe in description box ✌
Seriously EVERYone should learn this recipe. Its so simple, no fancy ingredients. I made it and only had to buy skirt steak & peppers. Sauce and marinade are all things you should have on hand. Its truly a dish you can impress people with as its tastes just like good Chinese takeaway food. Its nice over rice.
Im making this tonight in Australia, the missus got all the ingredients except only got red & yellow peppers, cut them up, made sauce. Meat skirt steak is marinating. I didnt have light soy so used regular soy. Its gonna be good. Wally knows the real deal late night family run chinese recipes.
By God it was GOOD. The meat was so tender you didnt need to chew it with teeth. Amazing! Ive bought a good Japanese carbon steel wok, the onion and peppers got blistered were smokey yet cooked. That idea of fying the beef & cooking the veg THEN adding it back to wok after frying off garlic then sauce is ripper. We had it over Jasmine rice and added some peanuts. I'm about to scoff the leftovers now! Such an easy dish that is 100% as good as a good chinese take away.
Whats up Hing Dai? 😀 You can actually, I would say about 90% of Chinese home cooked dishes uses a variation of these sauces, without the black pepper of course 🙏
Hi Wally, I watched all of your recipes, I think that you are the best! Do you take requests? Can you do Steamed SeaBass with ginger and scallions. I had that at my favorite Chinese restaurant in Honolulu and loved it. I tried to copy it at home, but would really like to see you do it. Thanks.
Ahh I love steamed SeaBass Carolyn 😀 It's hard to find fresh SeaBass around my area though. I'm sure in beautiful Hawaii you have no problem getting it. But yes, sure I will do my best. If I can get my hands on it I'll make a video. Thank you for watching and commenting on my video Carolyn, I appreciate it. Hope you and your family have a happy, wonderful holiday and terrific New Years!
@@WallyCooksEverything thank you for answering so quickly. If you can’t find seabass, maybe can you substitute flounder? I tried flounder and it was tasty. I’m mainly looking for the method, any good soft white fish, it’s just a wonderful way to cook fish.
Thanks bro, have a good time in Budapest 🙏 Just watched your shopping trip too. Thanks for the tour, now I know what the insides of a Gucci store look like 😆
Thank you for the tips; it really makes big difference for the success of this recipe that is why I always check your cooking method before I start cooking myself.
Hi bro, how’s it goin? Hoping all is well with you 😃 my point was it’s cheaper than sirloin, prime ribs thus not used in mom and pop Chinese restaurants back in the day. But I know inflation has taken its toll. Eye round is a good recommendation though.
Hi Wally, one of the issues with this kind of cooking is all the cooking oil that needs to be disposed of and not poured down into the pipes. Looks like a gallon water bottle ( with cap ) and a funnel can work. But I hate throwing that into the trash when it is full. Any ideas ? Thanks :)
How's it going Paul? 😀 I think the way you dispose of old food oil depends on where you live. In the community I live in we separate our old oil in containers separate from trash. So the trash guys pick everything up at once.
Hi Carolyn, yes about 1/4" thick. Could be slightly more if needed. I grew up using inches and feet for measurement but after living overseas for so long had to switch to mm and cm 😆

We can see it anyway the way you slice the meat and how thin it is; I just need a sharp knife 😂
SO DELICIOUS!!!

I cook Walley's beef chow fun quite often but its hard to source fresh ho fun noodles, but when I do....its on.
Hey Wally. That looks excellent 👌. Thanks for the lesson. I'm thinking I could use the same idea for all my dishes with Sauces 😀

Frying in oil is definitely the trick here for tenderness - thanks for sharing that! Finally, the meat will taste perfect!

@@WallyCooksEverything thank you 😂, you gotta make it out here sometime!
If I like more sauce, what should I do.
Looks delish, I will definitely be trying this one out!

My pleasure 😊
Flank hasn't been cheap for years. I have to get eye rounds when on sale.

@@WallyCooksEverything separate oil pickup is nice 👍 but not in Las Vegas, maybe restaurants have oil disposal.
Hi Wally, 2-3 mm, would that be about 1/4” thick for us Americans?

2-3 mm or cm? 3cm is kinda thick
You Sir is absolutely correct. Thank you for catching my mistake. It is mm 🙏
