Ladybeard is a cross dressing Australian professional wrestler, martial artist, stuntman, singer, etc. He was originally in a group called Ladybaby. Interesting fact, he has worked multiple times with none other than Tamu Murata, one of your favorite drummers. There is a song called むらたたむ&レディビアード コラボシングル 「スーパーD&D ~完全にリードしてアイマイミー~ (yeah, long name) where you get to see Tamu and Ladybeard doing all kinds of crazy things, including a cuteness competition.
Yes, Babybeard concept came from Ladybaby (which the guy, Ladybeard was part of but had to quit) some 5 years before it and that was very much inspired by Babymetal which started some 5 years before. Ladybaby was probably the most successful after Babymetal in the 'kawaii metal' genre. Looking at these timelines, I guess their is roughly 1 new kawaii metal band every 5 years. Last year team Babymetal also made a junior project: metalverse (they have 2 songs with an official live MV: Crazy J and Naked Princess). Ladybaby/Babybeard took the ideas of Babymetal: Japanese idols origin and metal and put their own spin on it. Other elements they took are: obviously some adorable/kawaii, some of that energy, especially also live. Still having pretty heavy metal/authentic metal instrumentation (maybe the last one less than Babymetal). But also making good use of the contrast between harsh vocals or instrumentation and high vocals.
