The "testing" of the box is what I imagine some mail services do in their breaks.

Hilarious testing of the package! It is however, how some transport companies handle goods, especially if it states that is fragile. Thank you for this awesome demo!

The problem is, he has not shown how to pack multiple items like plates, or items with handles, like teacups. I am not sure the "abuse" test would work in those cases...

My brother-in-law had a job loading trailers with parcels, his instruction was to build a wall of parcels as high as he could (he is 6 feet 4 inches) with regular shaped parcels it was eight feet high, ten feet from the back of the trailer. The rest of the loading team were instructed to throw the parcels over the wall, this was repeated until the trailer was full. Some of the parcels could reach a height of 14 feet and then have 5 kilo parcels thrown on top of them. Your dynamic test is accurate.

Thanks for the tips! I appreciate that you took the time to show how much abuse that style of packing can really take. That was awesome.

Thank you so much for this. I have a small online business had a couple online orders break in transit. I put my heart and soul into my business so it’s really heartbreaking to see. Not to mention I take those orders as a loss and bad reviews can damage your reputation. I’ll definitely follow your tips for next time!

One issue I would point out is not using a box is oversized. Void fill isn't necessarily intended to be protection material. It is intended to help brace the item and help it retain its position. My personal rule is 2 inches of bubble on all sides of the item. Then try to find the closest sized box that matches the bubble wrap. Then as you pointed out it is important the packing peanuts are tightly packed. When you opened the box at 3:05 the packing peanuts were compressed because there was enough room for them to move and break down.

I’ve heard shippers should pack breakables as if they will be thrown around a lot. This pretty much covered that! Awesome video. Thanks for sharing it.

This clip would be unbeatable if you proposed 2 -3 replacements for peanuts.

It's a problem that we cannot pack smaller, we treat the box gently because we know what's inside. The post office though, is forced to power through an endless stream of parcels so they cannot afford to slow down to be cautious. And like another commented pointed out, the ridiculous overkill of padding volume adds greatly to the shipping cost.

How do we pack if we have bubble wrap but no peanuts as shipping multiple items in same box?? Will scrunched up newspaper in-between bubble-wrapped items and around outer parts of box \ help the items from moving and provide enough protection to submit to your test?

Hi, thanks for the explanation. but I'm wondering, I sell dishes online and I put more than one dish in a box. It is not cost effective for me to send one piece in a box. How would you suggest wrapping a set of 4 plates. It's been a struggle. I've tried bubble wrapping each one and they still end up breaking very often. any ideas?
