  • Following a long climb up the Eldon Lookout road, Upper Sunset starts the descent from a peak of 9,150 feet elevation. The trail takes you down along a very scenic ridgeline before turning left and veerying down a rocky, janky, fairly steep technical descent where further down you enter a section with burnt remnants of a forest fire. Then, there is a brief bermy switchback section that navigates through a very cool boulder field, and then finishes with a fast, flowy moderately twisting singletrack. During this video I took the Upper/Lower Brookbank trail sequence to return to my vehicle, but I would recommend you find another way - possibly down the sequence of Lower Sunset and Schultz Creek. Lower Brookbank is a complete washout.

These trails you are on are ridiculously lonely. You check out such nice areas though.

Yes, I ride a lot of very remote trails. I find that many of the best and most scenic trails are a long way from a major city and so there are few riders on the trails…

@@ronsanderson99 Quick question. REI has a bike sale and I know nothing about bikes. I want a frame that I can upgrade, but it's obviously better if it already has better components. They have the Co-op DRT 1.3 on sale. I could probably get another 5% off. Is that a good bike? Or would you rather recommend the Roscoe 6?

@@Jose-sy1je Unfortunately, I really can’t comment on these bikes since I don’t know very much about them. But REI seems like a good store.

What are you riding this year? OR the same giant.

Same as before: 2021 Giant Reign…and still loving it! But I am also looking at a few other bikes for a future test ride/upgrade.
