- Just my unique take, I guess.
The following was written by a robot:
This video focuses on the importance of creating something that only you can make in the saturated landscape of the internet. It emphasizes how the best way to stand out and succeed is by being authentically yourself, building a “creative moat” that others can’t replicate. Drawing on examples from well-known creators and business concepts, the video highlights how originality and individuality are key to long-term success. The message is clear: if someone else can make what you’re making, you’ll struggle to stand out. Being uniquely you is the ultimate competitive advantage.
What a great reminder!
That’s my goal, to be the most original creator I can, combining music, life wisdom and human connection.
Got a long way to go but it’s becoming rewarding :)
Love this. If people like it, and they can't get it anywhere else, they'll have to come back to you. That hit hard.
Often overlooked. And fantastic name.
very true. Being yourself and making videos you want to make, videos that you think would be interesting, works
Loved this message Jay. Only what you can create...
Mind blown before bedtime. Nice! No to figure out myself 👀hah
This is something I struggled with a lot when I first started here on TH-cam. I always thought I should do what "the audience wants", i.e. do similar things to what others are doing. I haven't found my "true identity" as a TH-camr yet, but I'm slowly applying these principles. Awesome video Jay, keep it up o/
You'll get there
Solid advice.
Thank you, Aaron
Very true. Of course this isn't exclusively about "you" as a personality. It could be a skill that's very hard to master, a location that's difficult to film in or access to some demographics to film that not everyone can access.
Absolutely. Well said.
This video really touched me at what feels like the perfect time for me to actually have a chance of understanding and applying this more truly (even though it took 13 years)
It doesn't matter how long it takes, as long as you get there.
Another amazing video Jay
Thank you
Just what I needed, thank you for this
My pleasure
Such a good video and a true statement. it would be hilarious to copy this word for word though haha
lol
Thank you so much for this video, its really inspiring!!
Glad I could help
I love this!
Thank you, sir
great advice as always, lovely message too!
Thank you
Hy Jay. I have a question. I'm making short form videos at the time and I get 3-10k views cause I don't know what to include in video to make long form. Is is worth trying to make 2-3 minute videos for a watchhours? Thanks in advance. ❤
Just make whatever you feel like making. Iterate as you go.
yup
Only the truth here
Everyday I wait for jay's upload 😆
True fan. Appreciate it.
I agree to a large extent, but sadly, creating something only you can or you just being you could mean you could be nameless and viewless for years. My current thought process is that a sprinkle of you being you mixed with meeting primarily the needs of the people is a great step to finally just being you
Anything to find your voice is useful.
this guy is jesus
yes
The economic moat didn't fit well in my opinion.
Nice advice video 😊
Thank you
So much for "Steal like an artist"
Both phrases are synonyms
This is insurance against the thiefs.
supernice!
superthanks!
I do .. for now anyway
Keep it up, sir
love watching you , remember me !!!!!
Roger that.
Nice! This reminds me of Rick Rubin's advice to Kanye: if a song sounds like it could have been on someone else's album, scrap it. In the same way, if your video could have been on someone else's channel, scrap it and do something more genuine to you!
Rick knows. Excellent strategy.
Actually, I think you can get a bit stuck in trying to be "you." Maybe as an artist/creator you don't know who "you" are yet. I think it's valid to just make stuff... even if it is a bit derivative. Thanks for the video, Jay!
I completely agree. It's been the hardest thing about starting a channel - figuring out 'who I am'.
As a recovering people pleaser 🤕 I know that many people hide their authenticity and genuine feelings… maybe if I edit that phrase “create something only you can create “
to
Create something YOU want to create

Intelligent machines will certainly soon be able to mime individuals in great detail.
Humans like humans.
No one else can offer the world what you can.
As Emerson said, 'To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.'
Embrace your creations because they are meant to inspire, uplift, and transform
It's true
Good point!
Thank you!
Great video. I hope the algorithm does it justice. Keep it up
Maybe it will
