Three pin fans can be controlled by voltage regulation but can't be controlled by PWM so not compatible with this controller if you want them to run at variable speeds. Some motherboards when you go into the BIOS you can change the fan ports from PWM to voltage and then it will control the speed for you instead of always running flat out. Depends how many fan ports are on your board though if you have enough for all of your fans or not.

@@mikesunboxing okay,thank you
Hi! I'm using the corsair ll120 fans. Will i be able to use iCue to control the fan speeds of the fans? Or do I have to go to the bios for me to control the fan speeds? Doesn't matter if I control all of them at once. I would just like to know if i could control them in iCue.
bios control on these i think
If I plug it into my SYS_FAN1instead of my cpu fan header that wont cause any issues right?
up to you where you plug it, as long as it is 4 pin PWM that is fine
I got an question, can you change the pwm and noise for the Fans each, or are the fans(all 6 connected to the hub) marked for the bios as one😅
all are the same speed
So what fan hub should I get if all my fans are 3 pin and I do want to control them? I had just ordered this, but I canceled it after watching this review.
There aren’t many options for 3 pin fans. I used a cheap fan header splitter to connect four fans to a single header and that worked well for me
@@mikesunboxing Yeah I think I am just going to hook up my CPU fans to the PMW header and just stick the rest on molex adapters to run full speed (unless they are loud)
Same as using a hub basically but I don't have to buy a hub lol.
Can you adjust the fan speed of 3pin fans if the motherboard header is set to DC rather than PWM? Or does it send full power from SATA to the fans?
that might work? i don't have mine now to test sorry
really love to have one of those
hehe
i gave mine to a discord member
I'm sure three pin fans run at full speed anyway, from my experience that is the case.
Yes they will
@@mikesunboxing U can use adpater to descrease voltage and change speed.
Yes you can get them on amazon
Three pin fans can be controlled by voltage regulation but can't be controlled by PWM so not compatible with this controller if you want them to run at variable speeds. Some motherboards when you go into the BIOS you can change the fan ports from PWM to voltage and then it will control the speed for you instead of always running flat out. Depends how many fan ports are on your board though if you have enough for all of your fans or not.
Same
How do I change the fan speed? My fans are really fast and loud. I'm trying to make them more quiet but not sure how.
4 pin pwm signal from the motherboard and lower the speed in bios
@@JamesRL bruh
is this compatible with the pre installed fans that comes with deepcool mattrexx 55 argb 4f?
no idea sorry
if I connect it to 3-pins fans and switch it to DC mode (in bios) instead of PWM, will it work?
they will all spin at 100%
Hi there! I have a question that I can't find an answer for anywhere...
I have a mobo (Asus P8B75-M LX) with only one 3-pin fan header and I'm looking to change the case and have 6 fans installed. My question is, will it work if I connect the HUB to the motherboard 3-pin header or does it really only work with a 4-pin header? I know that 3-pin fans won't PWM, but thats ok, I don't mind having them at full speed.
I currently have 2 fans in this 3-pin header and 2 other in a molex connector.
Thank you for the video, it was the best I've seen on this piece :)
thanks for the comment and yes this will do what you are trying to do but it will have the fans at 100% speed
@@mikesunboxing thank you for the quick reply! I will get it then :D yeaaah
Works On Corsair Rgb Fans??
Specifically ML140RGB??
I don’t want to but core node cuz it’s expensive in my location.
no sorry it won't
it is possible to connect this hub on a motherboard header named “cha fan” and then connect 4 fan 12v to the hub itself? I have a asus rog strix h270f gaming
Yes it can do that I think
thanks man i’ll try 👍
@@albertomontori2863 Did it work ?
do i exchange the cpu fan header an put the hub on it or i can insert the hub on a different fan header. thanks!
Both
thanks man!
Hello man nice review. I just have a question. My motherboard is Gigabyte b450m-ds3h with only 1 sustem fan header and 1 rgb/ledheader. I plan on getting Deepcool gammaxx L240 AIO plus 3in1 Rf120 fans and sync them all together. I believe it comes with 4 port fan hubs for each package. Can I use i fan hub to system fan commecting 3 rf120 fans and another fan hub to Cpu fan to connect 2 radiator fans and pump for the aio cooler? Thank you!!
to start i dont think that board has nay RGB headers so you might want to rethink if RGB is important to you
@@mikesunboxing it has 1 rgb header
how is it now
Would the phanteks controller be a better alternative if I have 3 pin fans?
i'm not sure sorry
DeepCool has something similar to split argb ?. Or a device from another brand for a reasonable price?
there are a few around, a search on amazon brings up a lot of options
is there any fan hub that acctually controls via voltage 3pin fans?
yes the deepcool FH-04 does it well, i bought a few to keep in stock just in case
So if I plug 4 deepcool fans 4 pin in the hub can I control the speed of all fans with that hub
yes and all fans will be the same speed
I bought one but the website I bought it from said "control the speed of your (3pin and 4 pin) fans" but it was not true what it seams like. So I just wasted 15$ on peace of crap.
if you change the fan header output in the bios between VDC and PWM that sometimes works
@@mikesunboxing Thanks for the reply. I will try it out and see if it works.
@@kevinanderzzon9585 let us know how it goes

@@geraldwiedemann2126 Well my answer to your question, no. I have tried to sovle the problem and tried to find a solution that works but noting I tried seemed to work.
well would be nice to know a HUB that actually works and controls the 3 pin fans
not and easy thing to find for 3 pin
I connected my 3 pin fans to a hub (3pin hub) but they are not spinning can u help?
What fans and what hub
I've got something to ask. i have a mobo that doesn't have an argb or rgb header. and i bought an argb fans with hub powered by a sata.. My concern is can i connect my argb hub to the PWM 8port hub? in that way my fan speed will be controlled by the motherboard? Thank you in advance
It depends on the kit you have bought but maybe. Let us know what fans you have bought and I’ll try to help
Im using this. Each fan has only one connector (3 Pin Argb connecting to hub)

I’m a noob at PC building. I’m planning on buying 2 pwn fans. The fan i have now is 3 pin. What is the issue with a fan running at full speed? Is that bad?
Not bad just loud
Can i control rgb faans with this like diffrent colors or it doesnt change them
no it is only the fan speed rotation not the colours, you need a ARGB and fan controller
If I connect pwm fans and the last connection is a 3 pin aio will all my other fans still be controllable and the pump run full speed or will everything run full speed?
the 4 pin should run at PWM the 3 pin full speed from my testing
So this goes directly to PSU and fan header? Example jf i run 4 fans i dont want to overvoltage the header, and shortcut the mobo. Help?
Yes it gets power directly from the PSU and takes the rpm signal from the fan header and copies that speed info to the connected fans
@@mikesunboxing What if you can change the PWM/DC speed for fan headers ( 3 and 4 pins) in UEFI/BIOS ? Will it change the speed of all fans 3/4 pins connected to this hub ? You wrote that it copies the speed info from one fan connected to the fan header to the rest of fans connected to the hub, so If I change the speed (DC) of this one will it transfer to the rest ? In UEFI of my old motherboard Asrock Z77 Extreme4 I have 3 options to change for 4-pin chassis fan header: 1. Full ON (full power all the time), 2. Automatic (based on CPU temperature I can choose the levels)
It doesn’t work with 3 pin fans only pwm 4 pin ones sorry
I ordered 8 four pin fan that are pwm can i control the fan speed?
yes you can but all 8 will be the same
@@mikesunboxing so as long as I adjust speed on fan 1 they will all go that speed thats fine as long as not 100% fan speed. Also i got 6 140 an 3 120 but all are 4 pin an pwm is that fine
@@northsideangler8846 I just ordered 2 x Cooler Master MasterFan PWM Hub. I'll put all the 140mm fans on one hub and all the 120mm fans on the other and see how it goes.
@@MrAgmoore yea please share when you get them good luck.
what should i buy to controll the speed of 3pin fans?
i would get a splitter to be honest depending how many fans you are using

@@mikesunboxing Thank you so much Mike :)
How can i get fan control in this deepcool controler couse i didnt understand
it just replicates the signal from the motherboard header to multiple fans
Hi Mike, can you control the fan speed individually when connected to this(4 pin fans)?
no all fans repeat the same same signal
Thanks for the vid.
Planning to buy this along with Deepcool Rf120 which has rgb controller. But I have an old motherboard Asus P8H67 M LX, it has one chassis fan port and also a cpu fan port. Will it work?
If you attached the chassis fan header to the controller that should work but it needs to be a 4 pin pwm header not a 3 pin dc one
@@mikesunboxing cpu fan header has 4 pin, I'm assuming it will work properly, right?
Change my mind about the fan, I am getting the Pc Cooler Corona which has 4 pwm pin
Nice video ! Must I connect this to the CPU fan output on the motherboard? or can I use one of my normal fan outputs ? will my fans that i have connected to the normal fan output now have the same speed even if i connect it to the hub and use more fans? wil all the fans run at same RPM as my fans are doing now :) ?
I will most likely buy one of this !
Thanks for the video !
You can connect to any header you like chassis fan or cpu the choice is yours
could i use it with 9 pwm fans and 1 pump ( 3pin 18watt ) ? im asking just becouse i dont know if is too power for it
I would but the pump on a separate header
Would it work with 6 corsair sp 120mm fans?
it should do if they are 4 pin pwm plugs
Yes they are. Thanks
if a 4 Pin PWM fan was used in the fan 1 port wouldnt a 3 pin fan in remaining ports run at the regulated pwm speed?
that might work? i need to try it

@@mikesunboxing its all good Im just going to send back and already bought other fans with 4 pin rgb pwm to use this as i need 6 fans but have 1 port
Does this need to be plugged into motherboard fan header to work?
yes it needs some form of input to repeat the signal
Thanks!
I just used this exact hub in my build, and neither the small LED lights up, nor do the fans spin...
It must be either the SATA not delivering any power, or my mobo fan header not sending any signal. Does yours light up when the fan cable is not connected to it?
