Damn I forgot to use this example! In regards to Male vs Female designs, compare the Male and Female Main characters from Wuthering Waves. The guy looks like the most milk toast generic anime MC ever created. And the Female MC actually has a distinct design that stands out. Of course its subjective weather or not the designs are good, its up to your personal taste to decide.

@@denji4740 I actually don't like the MCs from Zenless. But they're also weird kinda self insert NPCs and not playable in the normal sense, so I didn't bring them up. I also don't think the Male MC from Wuthering is bad, just generic, or milk toast as I put it. The dichotomy between the Male and Fem MCs is really funny to me tho which is why I brought it up.
Edit: Also I was talking purely about design and not gameplay. Havoc Rover is really fun, but that has nothing to do with my comment.

If there's something like a 4-1 ratio of female to male characters, then waifu collectors will need to pay to get them all, while husbando collectors likely won't need to break f2p status. This alone pretty much guarantees that male banners will do worse.

I was able to get every single new limited 5 star male character without spending a dime on the game and even then some like eidolons, lightcones, and even some female characters (Black Swan and Feixiao). These games (mostly Mihoyo) seem to actively sabotage male characters in favour of the female ones in terms of banner order, reruns and such. If I remember correctly Jingyuan from HSR is actually the most popular character, with Dan Heng IL being one of the most retweeted drip markets and now Sunday's reveal is trending and has overtaken Dan Heng. I think people absolutely love male characters who are done well but it's so infrequent. Genshin Impact has Wriothesley who based on banner sales you'd think is unpopular (but people absolutely love him). He hasn't had a rerun in over a year and his debut sales were bad because of the other characters people wanted to save for (and Cryo being terrible in the meta). At least husbandos are easier to go f2p.
If they stopped screwing over male characters maybe they'd actually realise there's a good market there? Are the waifu enjoyers not yet broke? Not yet bored? Why pull for Acheron and Feixiao and Firefly and Robin and Ruan Mei when a month later the next meta waifu is revealed?

Oh no! It's HSR's all time favorite! Firefly!
They freaking made an entire fire roster just for her. You usually don't get the same elements and paths back to back together. Too unusual.
Gallagher, Fire Abundance, just came out and suddenly there is a Lingsha, Fire Abundance???
Jiaoqiu, Fire Nihility, even if he isn't perfect break support, he can easily apply vulnerability and reduce fire toughness, now there is another Fire Nihility???
Blatant favoritism, now with all the break supports being fire, they wouldn't release any break related supports soon, which means no PHYSICAL BREAK support for Boothill.

I swear, if you simp/like Dottore, people gonna send death treats and harass you for liking him. But on Ruan Mei, no, because she is a waifu.

    • @KrofisPlays
      @KrofisPlays หลายเดือนก่อน +87

Ruan Mei is functionally lovable and even waifu-able if you completely ignore her character story and only focus on everything else about her. She has a pretty lady design, she's a genius whose rare buff in Simulated Universe turns the game so in your favor it is laughable, and is a support who boosts the damage your team does and helps suppress enemy actions in a turn-based game where each side gets to have actions. But all of that belies the fact that she is an emotionless bitch who does not love or have empathy for the things she creates, and uses you the player to clean up a mess that she started which incidentally is one of the weekly bosses of the game, a replica of GIANT SPACE DEATH BEETLE THAT CLONES ITSELF.
Do note, all of the favorable descriptive stuff I mentioned about her was stuff that players were being drip fed about her up until her release, so the image of Ruan Mei being a cool beauty genius was already sculpted in their head before the story came in to kick that pedestal down. And while there are people who still choose to brush over the rather unsavory parts about Ruan Mei, her place within the fandom is as of current "potential threat upon the cosmos, but she's still meta support", so people will still find a way to end up pulling for her (myself included).

And Hoyo DOES have a successful otome targeted at women called Tears pf Themis. Sadly, it's not well known with most people who play games like Star Rail.

I've been playing TOT consistently for 3 years now, even though I take regular breaks with other Hoyo games. I've spent more money on TOT than on Genshin. The boys are well written, there's beautiful art and the updates regularly strive to have TOT keep up with new otomes.

I'm someone who enjoys both waifus and husbandos, but admittedly I prefer male designs and characters (i'm a seriously deranged otome enjoyer and have played a myriad of dating sims LaDS included). I'm f2p, so perhaps my voice isn't going to be as large as those who can use money to turn the tide, but I completely agree. Plenty of men hating male players had yelled at Kurogames to stop making male characters (in regards to both WuWa and PGR). Which I think Kurogames does pretty well with Male character design and story. I don't get why we can't have both male and female characters be equally treated. It's not like women dislike waifus. In fact, women LOVE waifus. Most women ARE the ones drawing those waifus that male players swear by. So I don't understand why women can't ALSO have husbandos when gachas like PGR/WuWa, HSR, GI, etc. literally PROMOTE the fact they provide both. I'm ngl, sure Hoyo did make Tears of Themis, but ToT is nowhere as successful as LaDS, and even in an otome gacha game meant to target the audience they're neglecting, the main guys aren't even mind blowingly hot or well written at some points. I wish gachas were like before. Other than Brave Frontier, there were other gachas i enjoyed, like Unison League, Puzzles and Dragons, Kings Raid, and more, that had a good amount of high quality male designs and stories. The only few games that I know with comparable male-female ratios that persist today would be Epic 7 and Arknights, both games I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with, not because of the characters provided, but because they're way too grindy. PGR, HSR, WuWa, etc are in a position where they can capitalize on the husbando market, specifically BECAUSE it isn't as grind heavy and very casual-friendly. Again, to end this off, I'm the kind of sick degenerate who's into both waifus and husbandos and prefer gachas only to pull for them over whether their meta or not, but I'd definitely like to see my husbandos get the same treatment as my waifus in terms of technical kits, story, and design. (side note: I'm such the opposite of you, Bladimir. I'm a sucker for suits. But you are right in saying there's too many.)

Same with Yinlin, Shorekeeper, and now the new resonator coming out. All of them have very clear romantic or sexual interest in MC in WuWa. None of the men even get close to the mc in wuwa, but a heartfelt talk between Jiyan. I think that's why sunday is doing so well, people like his character not just his design.

Its even ruin some of the harem fantasy, the girls don't like me or the male avatar because they developed the bond, but because their the only character they can form a bond with. Gangs (from what I know) dont' really function like that and it just seems weird to have a single guy just be there in what is essentially just a girl gang. I feel like it should be more balanced with gender or it should just be one gender to really give the impression that it is a girl biker gang, not a girl biker gang + 1 guy they found.
Also in lots of the promotional material the guy (Lighter) is just not included at all so it feels even more like he's intruding on a sisterhood. Maybe that allows the waifu-enjoyers to just pretend he's not there? idk

How often do you see really masculine, muscular or older women in anime? Ones that actually LOOK that way, with crow's feet, wrinkles, fat or actual musculature? The only reason there's more "inspiration" for female characters here is because there are inherently more waifu tropes. You're mostly complaining about male characters that are either made to be self-inserts, side characters who are meant to be non-threatening for the self-insert to not get feel like they're NTR'd, or men made to appeal to women, so not your target audience to begin with.

Thank you for making a video on this. People in the community and even popular content creators blow off the concerns and mistreatment of the female audience and outright disrespect them, because they don't care. It doesn't affect them even if they put on a façade that they do care about issues like these. A content creator I use to watch was Tectone. I don't think he's a bad person, but it's clear he doesn't give a fuck about anything as long as it doesn't affect him. Like telling Kuro games to only focus on putting out female banners, which in turn we have seen how that outcome played out. Then when people, mainly female players were upset about the 1.3 wuwa update when Shorekeeper is forced into being a love interest for the mc just like Firefly was he openly says "The only people upset about that are stupid women with big tiddies". Disrespecting us and degrading us to sexual objects in one sentence, because the issues doesn't affect him. When that is the person who is the most influential and largest creator in the gacha space no wonder our issues will never be heard or taken seriously. So any video on this topic to spread the word of this issue further is greatly greatly appreciated. This isn't back in the early 2000s were it was rare to see women playing video games. It's VERY common to see women playing video games on the regular nowadays.
While I don't agree with the Love and Deepspace communities approach and rudeness to anyone who simply doesn't like the art style of the game. It's clear that its a response to previous harassment from men who harass the women playing love and deepspace, because love and deepspace is successful.
On top of male players when discussing the issue about the male characters say they don't want male characters in the game. They also don't want men to be sexualized, but are totally okay with women being sexualized. I'm not even a prude or a feminist. I'm totally okay with sexualized female characters. However as a woman that comment makes me feel so disgusted. It makes me feel unsafe. How in the world is it okay to sexualize female characters, but not okay to sexualize male characters. It's only okay when we sexualize the female characters. These communities more and more make me feel disgusted, because of the sheer amount of men who don't see us as humans, but as sexual objects and that's it.

" sheer amount of men who don't see us as humans" like 1 man out of 10 or even 100, you mean? consider spending less time on social media? Whatever the topic, there will always be people with polarising opinions inserting their 5 cents, if you look at this discussions from a male perspective and focus on the stuff that might bother you as a man, you might get the impression that all female players of gatcha games are feminists who just *hate* you for simply liking pretty women who don't treat you like garbage, real or fictional, and overall if you focus on negativity you'll realize that some people will always treat you worse for being the gender you are, be you a man or a woman. That's not true, of course, most women players aren't like that, but that's the type of women who will speak up the most online. Same with men. I honestly never in my life heard from a man that he isn't okay with women gooning over male charcaters while also being okay with sexualizing female characters, I can only imagine it were some guys on twitter or something? I can assure you that that's not how majority thinks lol. Tbf I can only talk about western fans, no idea what's going on on east, as I heard about some guys actually protesting male characters, but I assume that's a loud minority type of thing
As for your particular complaint about Shorekeeper, as a rule of thumb female characters are made for men, and male characters are made for women in these kind of games, so I don't really see why they should change stuff because some women don't like her being a love interest for the mc, it's like if they made men in these games less hot because it bothers male players or something. Like how is this even a bad thing? It's not going to be taken seriously because it's not a serious problem, at least the way I see it, making someone fall in love with a man doesn't make them worse as a character. If you have some head canon regarding this character regarding her relationships or whatever, you are free to enjoy it anyway. Btw, people care the most about topics that affect them or their family/friends, it's just natural it seems. Like when someone talks about men's issues in public, it's usually a man, and when someone is talking about women's issues, it's usually a woman. Doesn't mean you don't have to care about anyone but you, but you can't blame people for caring *more* about the stuff that might affect them personally. Especially when it comes to stuff like video games where it's hard to tell when someone is just complaining for no reason like it always happens or if it's a real problem unless you personally experienced it. To me, personally, complaining about a female character being a love interest for the mc is a first world problem (aka not a problem at all), not to say that all complaints you might have are the same, but just this one if particular

The truth is, a male character can sell. The example is Neuvillette from Genshin Impact. He's male, but he's very meta (currently the strongest #1 DPS), strong, has good personality, good lore, he's important to the main lore, he's just perfect. And his banner sold very well. They just DON"T want to make male character in general. In Genshin Impact, Kinnich was the ONLY 5 star limited male character in 2024. It is so shocking that we got only ONE male 5 star character in the whole 2024 year that even Chinese players (who prefer female characters in general) are angry about it. The thing is, male characters can sell, because there are many female players who want male characters. And in general, male characters in gatcha games are very popular. For example, there is a game purely with all male characters and the game sold more than Genshin, Honkai and others games. In Genshin, they just don't make many meta wised male characters and they make female characters like a factory, to the point that many of them has the SAME PERSONALITY. The problem is huge.

Thanks for speaking up about that, as sad as it is, when women talk about problems like that, we're told to "stop complaining" or "play something else then, this game isn't for you". I've played WuWa since launch and I've had sooo much fun with it, but if you want to play as male characters you're basically screwed. Lingyang, Yuanwu and Aalto are characters I see anyone barely use, Jiyan was quickly replaces by Jinshi in many players' teams the next banner because of her crazy dmg + she got the whole main story focused on her, in the next update, but ok, lets be fair, I still see people use Jiyan in teams with Mortefi, who's also used not infrequently, but it's still not as frequent as many other female characters. And then there's Calcharo who not only haven't appeared in the story yet, but got replaced in terms of combat in 4 months by another male character - Xiangli Yao, who was given for free, so there's no reason not to use him. Havoc male Rover has really good dmg, but he's optional so you could just not have him on your account. So, basically, out of 8(vs16) characters, people only consistently use 3-4.
Also, this is a problem with WuWa in general, but their dsigns look boring (for me personally, I already know all the arguements against this claim, that's just my opinion) so I hope they won't just put every future male character in suits... I still think Genshin has one of the most well designed male characters, you have more variety in their designs that aren't just "suit 1, suit2, suit 3". Venti's design is still one of my favourites of all time, not just in Genshin, but in ANY anime game. Granted, it still sufferes from the fact that the developers are too afraid to make any characters look more than 30 years old and less than stick figure skinny (with SOME exceptions that started happening like what, 2 years after game's launch?), even though some of them like Zhongli or Neuvillette would've been so much better if they looked older, like 40+ AND it still has some tall model male characters in just... suits, but they still have variety. Also male Rover in WuWa feels like the most copy-paste isekai harem protagonist №32783287, while Aether has such a unique design compared to many-many male protagonists in anime, if he was a banner character, I would've considered pulling him just bacause of his design.

I think Reverse 1999 did a good job with a character called 6. He's considered a must pull for the game and his abilities made him quite valuable. He might be power crept by another character in the future from what I heard but he is one of the most versatile. His story in game is interesting as well. The ratio is heavy towards women too but the male characters do have niches that I use. Arknights like you said also has a good roster but yeah there are a lot of suits...

Another thing to note is that while women DO get more attention in theses games its not exactly good attention. For example, I realize that while looking at the character archives in Star Rail, none of the women are wearing pants. At most skin tight thigh highs/leggings. Also, the women are all feminine, like incredibly feminine. Where as in genshin for example, there's some feminine men, like kaye, linny, and kavah. Also a lot of women don't get stories that are as interesting as male stories. For every Furina there's like 3 Barbras who just aren't fun or cool characters. This is because they don't actually care about female representation. They want money and its easier to do that with women because we're already seen and treated as products by most media. Great video btw

With HSR I'd say Gallagher is the upper limit. Some women are exceptions, but that's on average. Aventurine or Sunday are perfect in my opinion.

As much as a love PGR and ZZZ, I wish they would release more men. PGR has proven multiple times that they CAN write men, and make their designs interesting, however, every 6 months they release another male character while women are constantly released. As for ZZZ, they can clearly design men interesting too, but don’t do it the same for women. The men are more experimental while all the women are designed to be “cute” or “sexy”. It gets even worse when you try to criticize those points and people tell them “go play otome games!” When they just aren’t interested in that genre and they prefer combat games, and just want the devs to listen to them for once.
(This isn’t a breakdown of the story since I finished this chapter in December when it released, and now my memory is hazy about it)
In PGR, my favorite stories are Spiral of Chronos and Cradle Parade, Spiral of Chronos focusing on a male character; I consider this chapter to be one of the best written as not only do I find it heartbreaking, but it constantly kept me on my feet. Lee, the main character of this chapter, is quite already well written, and he goes through way more character development. This frame (Hyperreal) having differing personalities compared to Entropy and Palefire. While in those frames he was grumpy and unapproachable, in this one, he’s a lot softer and communicates with his feelings way more. Pgr clearly proves that they can write stories featuring its men, but just chooses not to since a majority of the cast is women, and women is what they almost always release.

Destiny Child (RIP the english version of that, it was incredibly F2P friendly with a great soundtrack, artwork, and pretty neat little character sidestory feature for what it was) only had a few male character cards but i loved the way all of them looked. it had a fan service feature that would give you buffs if you left your favorite cards in a hot springs and the male character cards werent exempt from this.
i played that game every day for 1 whole year before i quit it and the issue was that none of the powerful cards in the game were male characters, they were all mid level power cards that you would never use on anything that wasnt a beginner or starter team. because the game was generous with giving away free gacha pulls and guaranteed high rank pulls system if you rolled too many times without a good card appearing, you soon wouldnt use them. you literally would only keep them to collect them. it made me question, what was the point of even adding them in the first place?
it's not like i ever met another female player who played DC, the male cards in that game were clearly designed to appeal to women but it never had any fandom around it because all the other fujos were busy being obsessed with genshin etc. and of course all high power cards were waifus, there was no equal power male character equvalent so such fandom couldnt be cultivated. why did they have ANY male character cards in the game to begin with? even went so far as to make "bathing" fan service graphics and backstory quests for them but not have them have any utility or purpose? it just seems weird.

Something I feel we need to stop overlooking is the fact that a large part of the reason why gacha games are so focused on female characters comes from the rise in feminist and anti-feminist movements in China and Korea. Because of gender tensions between men and women, gamers in those countries have started viewing the inclusion of male characters as a "feminist dog whistle" with a lot of male gamers having an immediate negative reaction to it. This is why games like Azur Promilia had their entire fanbase turn against them purely off the incorrect assumption that they might be considering adding male characters. It's also why Snowbreak stated they were no longer including male npcs as well as their recent statement that they were no longer collabing with any cosplayers due to the backlash they received after it was discovered that some of the cosplayers they collabed with in the past held feminist views. Or why Girls Frontline has been embroiled in multiple NTR controversies.
The political landscape in China and Korea is preventing developers from appealing equally to both genders even Genshin has received extreme amounts of hate in China and Korea for its inclusion of male characters like Scaramouche being largely hated by male players in those countries due to his overwhelming popularity among woman. Genshin's recent choice to only introduce 2 male characters in Natlan might also have been caused by the backlash that they have faced in the past. It's also leading to a rise in husbando and female audience-focused gacha games like Love in Deepspace and Infinity Nikki. But it's becoming much harder to make games that appeal to both men and women in China and Korea.

You know I'm surprised you didn't mention Genshin even once. Most male characters seem to be somewhat popular, relevant and/or even meta:
    - Zhongli's demo is still the most viewed video of the whole game
    - Tartaglia is somewhat beloved and is relevant to the story, as well as having one of the strongest teams in the game
    - Diluc is still the only character that has a 5-star skin in the game whereas all the waifu skins are 4-star and rather plane, and he also gained an incredible buff in the form of Furina and Xianyun.
    - Xiao is definitely the most beloved character for the Genshin Devs as he has an exclusive set, an Archon Quest dedicated to him, every single Lantern Rite has a secret or direct interaction with him, he has obtained an extremely powerful team that made him go from Mid to Okay, and so far no other Anemo DPS can compare to him now.
    - Kazuha has become so cool to the point of becoming South Korea's public enemy No.1 as every single character that interacts with him always has to praise his skills, personality and/or remind us that he achieved the impossible by having the power of 2 Visions and blocking Raiden's sword booba attack with a shitty 3-star sword. Not to mention that he's still a top meta unit.
    - Itto is what Boothill wishes to be but honestly he's just not all that amazing. He's pretty mediocre but what doesn't have in pull value he has on event stardom.
    - Now nearly the entirety of Sumeru is composed by male characters, or at least the most relevant to the story or the most valuable in terms of gameplay. Al Haitham is considered one of the top 3 strongest characters in the game, Tighnari and Cyno are somewhat mediocre but have a lot of funny dialogue and really good weapons, Wanderer/Scaramouche got really well treated, and Kaveh well... His gay drama carries him whole.
And I haven't even covered Fontaine with Neuvillette being so goddamn broken in both story and gameplay that Raiden mains still can't recover from all the emotional and financial damage they've suffered.

As a dude, give me someone like Adray or Albel (manly or edgy, respectively) from Star Ocean 3 and I'll go for them, but most gacha games default to pretty K-pop looking boys. Boothill was close, but because of the silly no cursing bit makes me look at him as weak.
Firefly is super cool, and I would have pulled for them regardless of being male or female, I wish the default was the SAM suit though. I don't need it to be my girlfriend, I need to have a murder robot on my team.
I think ZZZ is doing better, or at least has the potential to, with character designs. There have been alot of ladies back-to-back, but Ben is fantastic, Lighter is cool (even though he's a pretty boy) and I really wish they would make Pompey a character, since he's a badass that dudes would like to play as and a daddy that alot of girls would like to buy.

I always wonder why men are covered up 99% when women get skin exposure galore. Like, the reason for women shoeing skin is "because its their battle suit snd its what they're comfortable in" and then the men get the same thing, but to be honest, if i was one of the men, I'd be so annoyed cuz it means I'll get so hot and bothered in warn weather since the clothes would cover head to toe while the women are more comfortable and can show off while also being cool.
I mean, of course, men do get some skin exposure, but its just not to the same level as women get. Can i at least get a male who is sexy and cool and doesn't wear something that covers his entire body? There is this one gacha called Fellow Moon (still CN Only) and there's a video of ultimate animations of its characters, and the first character is a male, shows skin, is hot, and looks cool

Honestly, this is coming from a guy who likes female characters a lot, and plays games reflective of that (Nikke, Wuthwring Waves, etc), but the reason why i personally ended up disliking seeing males in gacha is.
Well, I'm exhausted by the pretty boy standards, that i usually see from countries like Japan, Korea, ane China. Which makes sense knowing the country of origin of these gachas. But I'd wish for more superhero-like builds, or builds that are reflective more on the strength a lot of the men should have.
Jiyan comes to mind, as despite being a pretty boy, he's built like an athelete with defined muscles. Calchoro in the same game. And i love Yuanwu for the fact he has a beard, which is immensely rare in these genres of gacha.
Welt and Siegfried from Honkai Impact 3rd come to mind.
Poseidon, Soriz, Vaseraga, etc. from Granblue.
It's sort of why it was hard for me to get behind the designs in say Genshin, because none of the men there are beyond the pretty boy look. Even Itto was nerfed.
Star Rail has this problem too, so it feels disappointing when you know the male coming out looks like they belong in the same boy band as other pretty boys.
Tldr: Gachas need men with MUSCLES and bearde. Also women with abs, thank you.

I'm glad someone else is also aware of this fact. I would like to have more male characters as good as females but you know how the market goes, sell hot waifus for weeb cmmers, specially in asia cause they spend crazy amounts on gachas. Epic 7 has pretty solid male designs tho and don't even get me started on Alchemist Code designs (damn I miss that game) none of which are mainstream today
Thing is, when people talk about gachas they only think about the hoyoverse triplets or anything amongst that style as a game

Can't relate how you'd pull for Genshin men but not for HSR men, where the male characters are far from 'perfect personality and agreeable morals' yet still respectable and sell well, with great gamekit too. Aventurine? Boothill? Imbibitor Lunae? Luocha? Even Jiaoqiu who has no problems poisoning his food for a goal despite him being a chef? How about Dr Ratio who's a professor but the way he insults people is rarely ideal for a teacher? Other than Childe who killed people for his version of greater good, as a girl I noticed Genshin tends to make the males really agreeable and morally upright, which is fairly reasonable, understandable even, but a bit unrealistic really. Not much variety unlike HSR men.

No, Raid Shadow Legends has plenty of cool looking male undead, dwarves, ogres, orcs. Raid is the only gacha game I can think that even give you a cool amount monsters and humanoids of all kinds. I wish these kind of games had more worlds like Shining Force where centaurs/trolls/werewolves/robots were common party members.

It's not that they don't sell, it's just that once a game settles down with male or female characters, it's kinda hard to catch the attention of people who want the exact opposite of what the game is providing. And to be fair, every game gathers the attention of different players, meaning that if the devs don't see the potential, then they will obviously not waste resources on male characters

Will say for Arknights most of them arent exactly tanks (defenders). If anything most of them are guards (ground/tank unit dps).
Also the most recent global banner released Logos a mage dps who is broken, but not as much as the other limited character in the banner.
I will also add to this but a gacha game that deviates from this to a degree is Limbus company, if anything for the fact that the only units you can get from the gacha are alternate units of the main cast and almost half of them are men.

It took so long for Arknights to grant players a male Healer and now we got three, two of them being free. TBH if Lumen was a banner operator I bet he would've sold well for being the only Medic who can remove status effects T-T but IG the devs learned their lesson so the later welfares are now on the "shitty" side of strength (Vigil and Crownslayer)

  • @deckyfx2188

I think there are various reasons for this:
first and foremost, I think HSR was always aimed mainly at the Male audience, just like its sister game, Honkai Impact 3rd, so of course its main attractor point is its female character.
But if you look at another MiHoYo game: "Tear of Themis', you wouldn't find any playable female characters there, because that game mainly aimed at Female audience.
Second, (this is just my opinion and over-generalization) I think it is ultimately because of how human males and females work, males are simple creatures that are easily stimulated by visuals, that's why women wear dresses, and that's why female characters design are very bold, but if you look at them they usually don't have much personality variation with the most popular are cutesy girlfriend typearch.
While female, on the other hand, are creature that seeks intimacy, and connection, that's why the male characters marketed toward women usually use heir personality as the main charm point, instead of the suit they wear.
