Had the hoss threw in a max8 system had a blast this model basically being a hoss makes me want to pick one up
Did you notice the Hoss is no longer on the current model page? It’s gone. Stampede came back and took its spot back! 😂😂
They never said it did the hoss. This should have been it from the very beginning
@@JayTeeRC You’re right, idk how I feel about them tossing out a renamed Stampede and then dumping the truck just to bring back the Stampede name.
I did change my original Stampede 4x4 to the Hoss chassis a few years ago, so I inadvertently kinda future proofed the truck for a new Stampede body!
That is gonna be a super tough R/C 💯
Next will be a Slash with the heavy duty kit and lcg chassis 🙏
i got my son a rustler 4x4 vxl, so i think ill grab one of these for myself since i have 3s batteries already. i was going to get the rustler again but this looks nice
Awesome man thanks 4 the update Jaytee Rc 💯
At least it comes with the HD kit installed already for $420, while the Hoss was also $420 but without those upgraded parts. Still, $420 for a 3s truck is very high. I just bought a TC syncro 4 buggie for $369 plus tax, and THAT'S a great deal for a 4s basher buggy. Yes different vehicles, but it's 4s, metal chassis, durable, metal driveshafts, etc. And 4s.
This Rustler at $399 or the 3S Vortex at $329?
You gonna go off-road? Rustler. That Vorteks is super low. Great for flat pack but otherwise it hits every rock and bump with the chassis. You can help it out if you swap those Katar tires but it's not near as forgiving as a Rustler. Crazy fast but that slipper clutch is a headache. And I like the Vorteks. But I run my Rustler everywhere.
@@redvikinghobbieswell if height is the only thing than what about the granite 3s it’s the same price
@Murphys_Law9 The Granite is a great truck. Back in the day a stadium truck like the Rustler needed to be light and agile to race. Nowadays not only will you not see them racing much but in practicality there's not much difference in a heavy duty Rustler and this new Stampede except ground clearance and shock position. Otherwise the Rustler at this level isn't a spry vehicle. And truth be told if I had to have either I'd go with the Stampede because a beefed up Rustler that isn't done all the way, like the new Ultimate, doesn't interest me. However; the geometry and parts on this new Rustler will be stronger and more adjustable than a Granite. The Granite's shocks are sub par and will need changing soon enough and not many people get a long life out of their tires. However, since over its life you'll change the tires and probably upgrade to proline shocks the Granite is a great choice. And getting it to the same speed as a Vorteks is just a pinion change away. It's a great truck. They're a blast. If you're not racing and are looking for a tough vehicle you can't go wrong with either. I started way back in the 80s so I had, and still have, an original Rustler. I think they look sexy. And I've had every offering over the years. But I have the Granite and Big Rock and Vorteks too. Just gonna be personal preference. Where you run them and what your goals are will help you make the decision. No one is gonna tell you a 3s Granite isn't a solid rig.
3s Arrmas have plastic where it should not be, like the pivot balls and diff cases. It's worth the extra for longer lasting durability. However, Arrmas go on sale occasionally. And $200 or $250 for a 3s isn't bad.
It’s 100% a hoss. I compared them at my store today. Everything is exactly the same other than the hd kit. If you have a hoss buy the hd kit and save yourself the money
Yep! I think I might have mentioned in the video I think they should have just called this to Stampede from the beginning and been done with it
This is great information. Thanks Jaytee, I wanted a Hoss. Now I can just buy this! It's a bummer that the new Sledge is $70 more, kinda much for the minimal changes made to it. Would love to hear more your thoughts on that too.
Great video TY for the update
I got 1 today. Smooth quiet fast and tough. Motor gets hot though.
nice! congrats
Throw on some slightly smaller Tyers and a decent heat sink and fan
In my opinion the hoss was a pilot test, and maybe even a prototype to the new stampede to see if there was a market for a monster truck of those specifics. Once it panned out, the new stampede was created to replace the hoss.
It couldn't be a Stampede 4x4 from the beginning because the Stampede was still being sold when the Hoss came out.
Yeah but they really weren't making any more stampedes. They were trying to sell out what they had before switching over but they should have just called this one the Stampede 2.0 or something or the Stampede XL and given the option
@@JayTeeRC RC companies rarely do that, if at all, because it will hurt the sales and hobby shops with remaining stock of the old version.
Traxxas heavy duty parts just standard parts on other vehicles 😂
So what’s the difference between the new stampede and the old hoss ?
It has the extreme heavy duty suspension, driveshafts, and metal hexes.
It looks like the esc has a new case, the capacitors are covered.
I don't think it has centre diff..r u sure?
Lol. Think a Stampede VXL is a Hoss. The Hoss was a lifted Rustler VXL. Be surprised if they keep the Hoss.
it is
@JayTeeRC Oh it is gone! Dang. I thought you were just agreeing with me lol! 😅 It's done disappeared!
Too bad it doesn't come with lights, like the ~$340 MT10.
Hello,
Do you think I could turn a Stampede 4x4 into a Rustler, or is that too much effort?
jennysrc.com
It's not too much effort at all. I just did it. You will only need a chassis, motor mount, aluminum center drive shaft, front bulkhead, body, and a battery hold down (don't remember the proper name).
I opted for the Proline body mounts as I'm not a fan of the clipless mounting system.
@@JayTeeRC There is nothing about a conversion, or I can't find it. can you tell me where that is?
@@NikkiNexo777 thank you verry much.
@@harribertweizenkeil6292 You're welcome. Anytime.
Just think this is the same motor as the maxx 4s😁🤭
And a centre diff 🥳😎
This should move and Groove on the dirt tracks
I think team corally have caused an rc stir and other brands are having to Up their game as the lesser known brands have watched and learned a thing or three👋🏿😎😊
It's the same as the Hoss
Yes same motor as maxx and hoss 👍
Also it has none adjustment body mounts 😆
Just buy a Kagama
Trash
These are different power levels and scale…. one is tenth scale 3s and the other is eighth scale 6s. Most useless reply ever.
Tell me you can't afford a traxxas without telling me you cant afford a traxxas 😬
@@fonicgaming6787 exactly
Why would u want to pay alot od money for a overpriced rc?😅 Guy is on point its a better value to buy a kagama for a little bit more and have a bigger and better designed rc@@mikemartin6857
First place view!!
🎗️
429.00 for this POS, traxxas is jacked
😲😲😂🤣😂🤣...well I am a stampede 4x4 lover...but this is a Hoss with a different sticker🤔
What Traxxas is doing is updating there models and charging more but at the same time traxxas is making a 10% more profit !!!!!!!
I'll stay with my old body traxxas new bodies and paint jobs are terrible lol
traxxas, please stop making these old shit cars Please come out with something new.
The hoss is discontinued.
