Traxxas MAXX Vs Stampede 4X4 BL-2S (VXL)

- The MAXX was already put to the test against the HOSS and WON! So it should come to no surprise that the MAXX out performed the Stampede 4X4 BL-2S (VXL). Even with the Extreme Heavy Duty kit, the Stampede still managed to break an axle. Both of these RC’s are great in their own way, and would make a great first purchase into the hobby. Below is a link to where you can purchase either one.
Traxxas MAXX: $569.95

Great comparison thanks for sharing 👍
Great review. You guys nailed it.
If they release a widebody kit for the stampede it's gonna be a beast
I’m just gonna throw this out there. I’ve watched a few of your videos now, and I can definitely tell that you guys are improving you video flow, and just over all I see your guys improvement over your older videos…. So I guess I’ll subscribe now lol, thanks guys
Thanks for subscribing, we appreciate it.
Maxx no doubt. stampede is okay I would like it better it had 17 mm hex wheels
The original Stampede! 4x4 Is my favorite rc truck maxx too heavy
I still wanna get the original Stampede 4X4 VXL. Love that platform also
Great vid love the maxx. Can yall do a 3500 vxl rebuild vid?
Definitely, and thank you
Can't forget to say you put the metal gears in the servo too!
I like them both I have them both The max V1 with widemaxx kit on it have not broken anything but some axles The stampede was a brushed turned into a VXL and upgraded the axle to the heavy duty axles I have not got this extreme heavy duty ones yet I did put those on my slash 4x4 Great video guys have a great one
Thank you
I’ve also got a maxx v2 and I put e-revo tires on it, and it just blows my mind! It goes at least 6 miles an hour faster than the stock sledgehammers. And whenever I hit jumps with it, it just soaks up the ground, and I can’t hear much chassis slap. so I would definitely try that if you haven’t already.
Sounds interesting. We’ll definitely try it! Only worry for us is the extra weight of the tires could snap the axles.
@@redbanditracing I totally understand the possibility of those axles breaking, but I will say my friend has had those tires on there for about a year now and hasn’t had any issues still. I would check is the heat of the motor once in a while. Mine doesn’t get hot, but I asked Traxxas and they said to keep that in mind. But I would love to see a video of you guys trying them out!!!!
Great videos
Glad you like them!
@@redbanditracing How can one love RC and not like these straight forward, clear, and concise videos? You’re crushing it. I’d love to see a new version Rustler VXL vs Rustler Ultimate. I own a Hoss and Slash VXL. I’m looking to get an Maxx someday.
Had some sets of trenchers done the same. I was talking with them and was like was it a bad batch and got the same was probably something in the ground that caused the split. I believe it's went quantity over quality now and the customer service has taken a dip as well
Agreed, they sent another set out to us without answering any questions. Also sent to wrong address haha.
Great vid, unlike the boss and the new stampede 4x4 vxl the bl2s does not have a center differential this would help spair the axles
Stay tuned up, it’s coming!
Arrma Dboots LP tire is the best for Maxx.. but not sure about rubbing without any extender
Maybe we will try them on the MAXX now, thank you.
They fit. Run them on maxx sometimes off notorious
@@redbanditracingon my maxx i run the traxxas belted tires and they work way better because tje stock kept on blowing off for me so you could try those to
Poke like 6 holes in the center for the water to vent out
All you need to vent tires is a small slit in two spots of the tread 180° from each other.
Bought the stampede 4x4 vxl 10 years ago and its not a good RC car tbh. Those axles where breaking after 5 minutes bashing with 3s lipos.
Most RC cars when put on 3s will have issues especially if they have plastic axles. With the Extreme HD axles they last awhile.
I'm looking to buy my first rc car, what should I get?
I would definitely recommend one of the rustler or stampede platforms. They are great reliable cars that can be upgraded to very high performance levels.
@@redbanditracing I'm thinking between the 4X4 VXL Brushless Rustler or the Ultimate Rustler 🤔
What is around the body?
Body armor
@@redbanditracing is it a trim? And could you share a link or a how to, looks good.
The Maxx is obviously better. Is it worth the extra purchase price and cost for batteries?
Most definitely, we still have the original control arms, chassis, and center drive shaft. We broke a few c-hubs, carrier’s , and bulk heads, but that’s all depending how hard you go. If I wanna go out of town and don’t wanna deal with anything breaking I’ll bring the MAXX with me.
