'throwing' is a general gaming term; it usually refers to when people intentionally sabotage a match so they make themselves and their teammates lose. in splatoon, it could be someone just standing in spawn and not doing anything; or it could be them not focusing on the objective at all and repeatedly dying. it's also often used as an insult/accusation to describe how poor someone's performance in a round was lol
