      True story,
I was on Deployment with the Navy in Sicily, as luck would have it, We were put in Hotels while there. I was on the front entrance talking to one of my crewmates, when a lady come running up and said Finally someone who speaks english.
I said yes, im an american. She said, I cannot believe these people are so rude speaking some foreign language all the time.
I asked if she was in vacation to which she said yes. I said, ma'am, we are in Italy and they do speak italian here, You should learn a few words to get around or ask for someone who does (a lot of them do BTW, if your nice).
She just said in a very loud voice, THEY SHOULD SPEAK ENGLISH. They should learn english, why should I learn something im not going to use.
At that point my Crewmate and I exscused ourselves and went back to our rooms. We didnt want the crap storm that was coming.

Hearing a foreign language is supposed to be part of the experience. Language, culture, and cuisine. That's the whole point of traveling abroad. Cancun is supposed to be drunk dancing on a beach to a song you dont understand at all, while burning ur tongue with salsa.

To set the stage, my former friend wasn't annoying busybody who never kept a job, but just said at home chain smoking in her bathrobe while surfing the internet in a house that her unappreciated, believed good, overworked harried husband paid for. She seriously believed that everyone should stop but they were doing and make her plus whatever drama she had going on their number one priority. I didn't know this was called narcissism at the time. I just thought she was a high maintenance pain in the butt. It was more than that though. She was a grifter with zero skills, no ambition and no talent other than talking crap about the people around her with whom she was extremely jealous of. My former friend had neighbors who were Puerto Ricans and she would not stop talking about how she thought they were gossiping about her in Spanish. I told her to her face: you're not that interesting. She did not like that.

I was given a very popular doll that had sold out when I was young, but I didn't understand how popular it was. I took it to kindergarten, and another kindergartner convinced me to swap with her for just one day and promised to bring it back. Yes, this is a recipe for tragedy, but I was 5, and I really wanted to be friends with everyone. I brought her doll home and my mom got very concerned because my doll had been super popular, and it was in VERY GOOD condition. Like a good friend, I took her doll back to school the next day and gave it to her, but of course she "forgot" mine.
We never got that doll back. Her mom made excuse after excuse after excuse, swore up and down that she couldn't find it, and it wasn't in her room. We suspect the mom immediately decided to keep it because either she wanted it as a collectible or wanted to sell it, and figured there'd be nothing we could do about it. In the end my parents just couldn't justify pursuing it legally, and they got away with it.

Of us (nurses and CNA’s) decided to eat out at a REALLY fancy place. We each knew our individual bills were going to be about $100 each, so we had all saved up. Well, as it happened a nurse at our table was recently divorced and had been flirting with a birthday guy at a neighboring table. When they brought us the checks, the handsome birthday man tossed his platinum card on our table and said, “It’s okay, I got you ladies!” He paid for our ENTIRE TABLE (probably at least $1,000 tab) like it was NOTHING. Fun fact about the first video where the lady says that the person filming cant record her. Obviously they can.
The laws behind that are very interesting, there are 1 party and all party consent states, where either 1 party has to consent or all parties have to consent to being recorded. The interesting part is all of those laws only apply when there's a reasonable expectation of privacy, and a public place is definitely not a place where you can reasonably expect to have privacy. So in all states it is 100% legal to record someone in public without their consent.
