Great review Jody! Thanks for the kind words, always happy to support the channel. I just love this piece, as ridiculous as it might seem 😉 not afraid to use this as a beater. Cheers, JP
It looks fantastic. I think there is a lot of hypocrisy going on with people saying it is too expensive and should cost $200 at most. I am guilty of this too. Mechanical watches often get a free pass even if they sport cheap, basic movements but because this Casio is digital we think it shouldn't cost much.
I'd wear it over the resin body. But don't kid yourself. Its manufacturing price is like $10, $20 tops. Selling it for more than $75 is a stretch. There's smart watches that cost $150 that have way more sophisticated hardware and displays in them, and there's mechanical watches that cost $50-$100 that have sapphire crystal windows. This is just a regular $10 gshock in a metal case. For the price they're asking, they should have given it a sapphire crystal window and at least a better display like e-ink. It's clearly just a shameful money grab.
@@peoplez129 Well if it was so cheap to make there would be replica watches, to begin with good quality solid stainless steel watchband cost a serious amount, not mentioning the whole case machined to the Casio quality standards. Sapphire is nothing its a sale gimmick it can be found on cheap watches too, and its not crack proof or a miraculous substance as well.
I got one as a present for Christmas, and I am absolutely delighted with it and have been wearing it almost constantly since then . Looks & feels fantastic on my wrist which is slightly smaller than yours and I have no problems wearing it, does not feel large on my wrist at all. The squat shape of the watch makes it wear smaller in my opinion.
Been wearing my black full metal square for a couple of weeks now and I love it! Bought it for 374€ (around $400) new in Germany. The price is totally worth it! I have a 6,5"/16,5cm wrist and it fits well but a 6" wrist would be small for it. The first links drop vertically down but it looks natural due to the very curved lugs. The buttons, the module and the display are the best of the squares although the negative display is not as readable in dim light. The automatic backlight works well though. I wish they made the resin version with STN display and buttons as big as on this one. Would buy one as a beater.
I've a 6.5 inch wrist. Gmw-b5000 in black with metal bracelet, I must say, is my favorite model. I'm extremely happy with my purchase. It's become my everyday watch. It's very versatile and goes well even as a formal piece. Ever since I've been wearing this, I really feel like I don't need any other watch. The quality of metal bracelet and clasp is surprisingly good for the price. The black one looks and feels like a so much expensive watch. And that black negative display is absolutely gorgeous (and legible from all angles). Also, with the black model, the writings on the front of the case are gray, which make it very understated and not so loud (unlike other g shocks) so that makes it a serious looking watch. Also, the black and gold color are more scratch resistant than the steel one. Overall, this is the best watch purchase I made. My honeymoon period with this one is nowhere close to getting over.
The price is right I think for the classic design and heritage. It's a stunner!! There are thousands of watches in that price point which have nowhere near the impact of that!!
You're spot on. These are for us Casio collectors. I have hand wind, automatic, vintage and luxury...but...I always find myself going for my GShocks. Just got the gx56bb-1. It is ridiculous, huge, unnecessary but surprisingly it is my new favourite. Like you said, few watches bring a smile so it is special when they do. I want the Metal in Gold for when I want to bling out.
When this came out I thought, "at that price no chance" as I fondly looked at my 5610 on the wrist. Time passed and I pondered.. they sold out and I was oddly sad. Sometime later they cropped up again and I pondered some more... they sold out as well. Not being someone who want's to pay above retail I ignored used examples. A year later I spotted one online in the UK reduced, one only and now I have it. And what a fantastic job Casio have done. My regular G-Shock it is not, the old faithful 5610 is that watch but when I'm not saving the world and I feel like a change I pop this on my wrist and the smile is from ear to ear. A great review Jodi.
I'm obsessed with these Casio videos. Brand new to Watch collecting at 40. Saving up for a Seamaster, but in the meantime, I think I'm going to focus on collecting Casio. No other watches get me as excited as these. Buy what you like, right? Thanks!
I'm in exactly the same position. My dream watch is a Seamaster300M. A bit out of my reach at the moment however! I am really falling for this Casio though...
This looks amazing! I don't think it's overpriced, considering it's the first gen of metal square G-Shock, there's gotta be some R&D costs to redesign the shock-resistance feature from resin squares to metal squares. I held it in my hand at the boutique and it feels solid like a tank. The finishing looks awesome for a G-Shock, and it's got a design legacy behind it. This looks like the kind of watch that could be both posh and practical, and it's definitely coming to my wrist soon.
Look at the specs, examine the finish, and this watch is unbeatable at the price. If you can get one with a bit of discount it’s an absolute no brainier purchase. A top quality watch which will always be correct to the second anywhere in the world with atomic time reception or Bluetooth, no maintenance required, no setting required, no battery replacement for 15 years (at least). The backlight can be set to 2 or 4 seconds and manual or automatic. All functions and more can be accessed using a mobile phone app and the Bluetooth connection. Any scratches or dings it may pick up in decades of wear will simply add character. A true classic.
Uh, it's bluetooth connected, waveceptor and tough solar, it's might not have a triple sensor like the Rangeman or Mudmaster line, but it's far from the most basic g shock they make
Love mine. You’re right I use my plastic version one for bashing about and the steel one as my dress g shock. They are for collectors really although it would make a great every day watch that looks awesome and can be used for everything from eating out to diving in the ocean. The moment you connect it to your phone it syncs the time so you can make it to the second accurate quickly and easily in countries without multi band signals. The display is a special version on the full metal too which is much cleaner and crisper. Also this is the only solar g shock to have the brick pattern display on for the full retro look.
I own one, the price for a G-shock is just irrational; but it’s a brilliant and very fun watch. I often take off one of my way more expensive pieces to wear it.
I think the majority of the cost is due to being made in Japan, while most of their cheaper watches are made in Thailand (except the actual quartz movement which is still Japan).
The reason the light does not stay on when you hold the light button is because holding it in for a few seconds should turn the auto backlight, (hold your wrist up and the light should turn on automatically) if its a typical 5600.
Recently I have been looking to purchase a G-Shock. I looked back through your old videos and watched your review you had previously done on another G-Shock then, this popped up. Thanks, keep up the good work.
A great review as usual but I missed the Bluetooth part because it definitely adds some functionality to the watch. I have two, the stainless steel and the gold one... ( but the gold one I am now giving to my son) so I am on to buying the black one for myself instead. I paid roughly 490 US each and I think that's totally ok for what you get. It's a fun, nostalgic and beautiful watch to wear when you want to be over the radar. I prefer the positive display for the negative even though the negative display is much better on the full metal than on the usual square g:s. For now my full metal is my classy watch and also my precious beater. I love it!
6,5"er here too. It wears fine. I love mine! The first links drop down vertically and it looks natural due to the highly curved lugs. There are gaps between my arm and the lugs but you only see them from certain directions where other people would rarely see. In the mirror it looks absolutely great. A 6" inch wrist would be too small in my opinion though.
I live in Russia, and I allowed myself this watch, they are cool, amazing accuracy of movement, even without synchronization, I have been wearing this watch for a year now.
I want a 5610 with the updated LED backlight. Love the fade in and fade out. There is an aftermarket source to get stainless steel case/bracelet for these for only $100. So $200 gets you a 5610 in stainless steel with all the features except bluetooth/led.
Love mine - I was able to get at list when it came out but had to order from a shop in Japan (I’m in the U.S.). Yeah it’s pricey but it makes me smile too 😀
When I got married, my wife wanted a Tungsten Carbide ring. Why? She just like that. I've been wearing that ring for a few years now, and it looks as good, as the day I put it on. The ring does not have a single scratch on it. Tungsten carbide is heavy, almost as much as gold, but it takes a beating. It the Casio G-shock B5000D-ER had been made of Tungsten, it would have lived up to it's reputation.
I have a habit of losing things, and breaking them. That's why my wife got the tungsten carbid ring. I actually lost my rings three times. The first one cost thirty dollars. The two after that, were twenty. Tungsten is a little expensive, but they use it for drill bits. Ten K? I don't think so..
A big feature of the Bluetooth and app connectivity is the ability to instantly reset the watch to the time on your phone. If your phone settings have the phone time synched with the cell network, the time is usually quite accurate. You can use this worldwide.
Right on the edge of fair pricing. It gets a pass because the price is still so much less than the old crusty brands from years gone by. Plus Casio has a legitimate history in horology.
My friend gave me a casio gift code for 38% off i believe. So I got this watch for about £280 directly from casio. I own a few 'affordable' watches and this full metal is now my favourite and i wear it a lot more than my automatic TAG and Longines.
I love that watch. Got the basic 5600 and it gets most of my wrist time. Just bought a Tudor Ranger but I still find myself choosing the G. That metal one is definitely next on my list! Great review
Great review. I love that it is Solar, that it has a blue tooth connection and that it has a quality metal finish and bracelet. But 600 beans!? Wow. I'm wearing my $14 Casio Royale as I type this, and loving it even more, now.
as a slight g-shock square fanboy this one looks really tempting but the price is too much for me, guess i'll enjoy my recently purchased phoibos quartz submariner as my only full metal watch then
alright, i did get one a week ago for 20% off (400€) new. really liking it, especially that you can change the language of the day and format of the date (as seen in the video). love the looks (the silver with the light blue backlight gives me nokia 6310i vibes), the feel and the atomic synced accuracy, however it isn't replacing my basic 5600 as my go-to beater, but thats not what i bought it for anyway. i do plan on getting a blue metal aftermarket bezel+bracelet from aliexpress and want to put it on yet another square i have yet to get just for that purpose, as i really want an all blue full metal one and to see how good these parts actually are and how much of the full metal experience you can get for a fraction of the price of a completely genuine one.
Excellent watch made by Casio with many advanced and useful features. However; I would prefer a Sapphire Crystal Cover instead of mineral Crystal. Many Thanks for the comprehensive review with technical assessment.
They are selling for $500USD. There are worse value propositions. It appeals to me, because, at least in part, I often have a bad reactions to some plastics directly on my skin.
The links on my Armida A12 use spring bars instead of pins/screws. They're easy to remove, but fiddly to get back in. Incidentally you should check out Armida, made by the same factory as Helson, and regular 15% off sales.
@@dnationapocalypse Copy from another comment of mine :) Price tip for Europeans! Check uhrcenter.de, from time to time they sell the black one for 429€. Now use the 10% discount code paydirekt18 which is valid until the summer of 2019. In the end pay with direct transfer (advance payment) to get an additional 3% off. Got mine for 374€! The delivery time might say 3-4 weeks but I got mine in under two weeks. Also, googling "GMW-B5000GD-1ER uhrcenter" will often give a lower price than going directly to the website.
Jody, thanks for the watch review. I never have seen a Gshock in Metal. I don't think it is worth 600.00 I am not sure because they make so many models but I think you can get that in plastic with the same features for 100.00. Plus the weight for the metal is kind of heavy for my wrist. I think it is the same weight as my Tisell diver. I have a couple of solar tough casios, and one is a Protek, this one is loaded with features. But kind of big. It has a digital compass, a barometer, an altimeter. Sunrise sunset with programming in the map coordinates. Graphs the air pressure. When it gets below 999 millibars it usually rains. World time, 5 alarms, count down timer and stopwatch for about 100 dollars. They were 500 when they came out. I waited until they came way down in price. The other tough solar is kind of basic but a great beater watch not much more than 30 us dollars. I think your purchase of the smaller Gshock for under 50 is a great beater watch too, probably better because it can really take a beating and still work well. Some of them are huge. Can get expensive. For 600 dollars you can get entry-level swiss watches. Or two really nice microbrand interesting watches. Take care and look forward to more videos from you.
Great intro, so glad I guessed the soundbyte, film anorak kudos! Love this watch but the price is farcical! Wish the Casio Royale would get a full metal update.
I have one of these when they came out I had to get one I have a eight inch wrist and it fits great and for a big metal g shock I have a gst-s110d with metal band they both put a large smile on my face
I see what you mean about it losing ‘beater’ status. Don’t like high polish end link (if you like) to the brushed bracelet as that has to be a magnet for scratches etc. Looks better than I thought it would but like you it grates with me paying that much for something that costs £50. Do fancy the black out one though, I think that is way cooler. Splendid review and your right JPs collection is fantastic.
Yes, but then after the initial thrill, the Scotsman in him might cause him to grieve. “Ya dint hafta spend all that money just because it’s shiny”, his inner Scotsman might tell him.
Love G shocks, have one on my wrist coming up to 10 years now. Have thought about buying this one but it's a couple of hundreds too much. Edit guess the devil makes work for idle thumbs, bought it at the end for 460usd. Wears very nice on my 7.25 inch wrist and goes well with my gold bracelet on my other hand.
@@sledgehammerlion You won't regret it, bit of a scratch magnet, but the gold masks them very well. Always get people looking at it, they think it's real gold lol.
I got a "Chipolo" bluetooth key locator as a christmas pressy from my boss. It's a tiny tag with a bluetooth chip and a little speaker. You pair it with your phone, it has an unobstructed range of 60 meters, and you can make it ring from your phone OR you can make your phone ring by pressing it. Also your phone remembers where it lost bluetooth contact with it, so you can roughly say where you left your keys. Now, it occurs to me that these bluetooth alarm watches should have pretty much the same hardware already that the Chipolo does. So it could be just a matter of programming to add that feature. Imagine using your watch to find your phone (even on mute), and vice versa? Now that would be cool.
you know.. i like my world timer ...yeah its not solar and doesnt do the atomic clock.. but it was 22 bucks and has a light albeit a crappy one... but it tells time , has zones, alarms and chrono.. with 100mt wr... never tire of it
Interesting that you mentioned the "nicer" packaging, but that's identical to 4 inexpensive models I recently picked up, all retailing well under $200 each and in some cases retailing under $100 each. But I don't have the base model, so maybe that one comes in a cardboard or plastic container? I'll look at these again when there's less chrome and more brushing, and a module with 3-character text for the day, as many cheaper models have. Until then, its "FA"bulous.
Beautiful watch. Got this one and the gold one as soon as it was released. Was one of the first few to get it on release date. Wear them more then any other watch I have and love them!!
Now why didn't AP think of a case and bracelet like that with their new 1 minute to twelve affair? An anologue in that case !!!!!!! Bingo.Too dear for a Casio but my point is how do they create such remarkable design ? Because they can and have done for decades! No fuss ,no hastle they just get on with it! Great video.Cheers.
It's an excellent watch,it's worth the price,it will last for decades, you won't see it on every fool on the street. However a new MR-G with lcd display would be nice, sapphire, hardened titanium, gps time sync, stn display or digital paper display.G Shock is heading toward a good direction and gives many many options. In a few years you will see new models for sale for many thousands of dollars made out of solid gold
Though not as tough, Seiko's sub brand, Pulsar, makes an amazing alternative ( the pw3001) for less than $100. Paired with a strapcode bracelet, it's a pretty awesome watch!
Thanks for the review. although Casio won't be. I've been trying to decide between this and a DW5600, going back and forth between the two. But as you say, if you buy this, you're getting a beater watch that you can't actually beat. Mind made up, cheers!
The garish gold one can be bought NOS 2nd hand for below RRP on watch forums. The nicer silver one is still available from Retailers new. The price has dropped to £339 about $434, Both have been usurped by the far superior titanium camoflage which i admit is more expensive but much better looking watch. I bought the titanium camo from ernest saunders online with a 15% discount code off the £1480 price. none of these watches are truly limited and its unlikely if you are buying to flip you will make a profit, so don't believe the "limited edition" casio hype.
Thanks for the video. Very attractive watch. I only have two g shocks at the moment, a mudmaster and a carbon fibre frogman, both would probably qualify as small clocks. But I find them nice to wear nonetheless.
I wear only metal bands and put aside my Rolex for this Casio, exactly to avoid unnecessary patina on my Submariner. Instead, I can beat this to hell the casio, which is a tank. Other points of view
Hi, if made in Japan why C E on back ⁉️ My phone can perform that task A Gentleman wears because of style not bling My 2 favourite watches at the moment are Dan Henry 1970, and Victorinox inox and alternate between steel bracelets and wide selection of Zulu straps, Keep up the great job 🏆 Cheers from Perth Australia 🇦🇺
I very much enjoy your channel Sir, but I can't get my head around watches that are not round. I don't know if this is a character flaw or maybe something from a traumatic event in my youth, but square watches are a no from me. I don't want people to think I'm a snob or anything, I recently bought a Casio abc watch that I love, but a watch or clock should be round for me. Anyway keep up the good work, loved the bollocking from the Mrs for breaking a Seiko, top notch Sir, top notch.
Darrell Butler couldn't agree more. I have an aversion to the squares. However, once I owned one (5600e) it really grew on me, although it's a backup watch to me. Give it a try. I guarantee that you'll be happy. lol
I spent months looking for a (round) watch. I despised the square ones and always filtered them out in stores. When I saw this one in black though... it was the first one I bought! Something just made me love it at first sight! I also bought a round mechanical watch later and I think they are great opposites to each other in my tiny two watch collection.
Anyone else listen to all the nay sayers who say don’t buy it it’s a waste of money! And be like I’m still buying one when I get the money! Full Metal G-Shock is awesome 😎 👌🏻
Ive seen your videos of "build your own metal casio for 100" and notice that the back and the strap connection is made of plastic, is the back of this one plastic too? The rear of the lug... Tnx in advance. Ps: ive got a seiko skx (jp build) a 24h full lume amphibia and a few other watches... id hive them all for a metal casio if you know some1 that would trade (i live in spain) Cheers and lots of beers! This is my fav watch channel on TH-cam!
I don’t believe the solar power system could handle a heart rate monitor. I don’t know, but that maybe the case. I wish I had gotten one of these when I went to the gshock event with mr. ibe at a local jewelry store. Although, since they were charging full retail, maybe I wouldn’t. .
5 ปีที่แล้ว
I think so too. There's no way the watch's solar battery capacity can handle the heart rate monitor, not to mention the processing powered required after that too.
When you showed the underside and the screw down cap....my heart sank. Looked like black plastic body covered in stainless steel rather than the ENTIRE watch body being stainless steel. Is that what this is? Plastic watch and covered in stainless steel? First I’m seeing this! Was going to buy one but not now! That is a $ 100 watch at BEST!
The WWBV Emulator App for Android works brilliantly to set the time via the watch atomic clock radio function. Simply install the app on an Android phone or device and setup the app for Standard Time or Daylight Savings Time as appropriate for where you are. Next start the app running, turn your device volume up and set the watch on or near the device speaker. You will hear some ticking sounds as the app runs. That ticking sound is the time and date set date data signal being generated by the phone according to it's internet synced system time (not the WWV atomic server time). Believe it or not, the watch picks up the ticks and in a few minutes, the time and date are automatically set. Keep in mind that Casio watches check for a data signal at specific times (usually late at night). Alternatively, Casios (mine at least) can be set from the buttons to start searching immediately. That is very handy so the app does not have to run all night long waiting for the watch to start searching on its own. Seems to me this should work with any Atomic Set Watch, but YYMV. For the more technically minded: The ticking audio output generated by the app causes the tiny magnets in the phone device's speaker to generate a weak data encoded magnetic field. That magnetic field signal is what an atomic watch is searching for and if the watch is very close to the phone, the volume on the phone is turned up and the watch is in its signal search mode, the time and date will set in a few minutes; it works a treat, as Jodi would say...
Love the reference to the film. Fantastic film. As for the watch.....you have found the only G-Shock I really like. I agree with you it's stunning. But $600? I love Casio but that is way overpriced

The reason the light does not stay on when you hold the light button is because holding it in for a few seconds should turn the auto backlight, (hold your wrist up and the light should turn on automatically) if its a typical 5600.
Ordered mine today at an online sale for 360€ - could not believe it but too hyped to not get one. Full silver stainless steel model.
I remember full metal Casio's when I was a kid (40 years ago) like the A158. Wish they still made those.
I bought the black military version DW5600MS-1 from amazon. same packaging. The 'All mate black" look is the best!!😊🙂
Great video! ⌚⌚
I have a DW 5600 that I coated in matt black steel with old patina, after three years there is no scratch, it looks fantastic at a much lower price.
Recently I have been looking to purchase a G-Shock. I looked back through your old videos and watched your review you had previously done on another G-Shock then, this popped up. Thanks, keep up the good work.
you're right Jody, it would be great if other companies would do bracelets with that adjustment design.
I love these and do own a 5610 as a watch I use in the gym. No way would I use this all metal one as a beater watch, it's just too nice.
This has been my grail watch for awhile. I found a mint one on eBay and had zero issue dropping the $350 for it.
I love it!
I might add that the sizing depends on wrist shape. I have a girly 6.5" wrist, but it's rather flat/wide so this watch wears fine.
6,5"er here too. It wears fine. I love mine! The first links drop down vertically and it looks natural due to the highly curved lugs. There are gaps between my arm and the lugs but you only see them from certain directions where other people would rarely see. In the mirror it looks absolutely great. A 6" inch wrist would be too small in my opinion though.
below 7 inches wrist is girly small
Was so waiting for you to review this one! Finally! Your growth is incredible. Nice job as always!
That is the best looking digital watch I’ve ever seen
It would have cost $10k tho
I have a habit of losing things, and breaking them. That's why my wife got the tungsten carbid ring. I actually lost my rings three times. The first one cost thirty dollars. The two after that, were twenty. Tungsten is a little expensive, but they use it for drill bits. Ten K? I don't think so..
Definitely picking up one of these. I am an avid collector of Casio watches! Great video!
Definitely one for the Casio collector. I haven’t got a G Shock as yet but looking at buying one soon. I’ll probably go for a solar powered one
A big feature of the Bluetooth and app connectivity is the ability to instantly reset the watch to the time on your phone. If your phone settings have the phone time synched with the cell network, the time is usually quite accurate. You can use this worldwide.
Indeed, I was a sceptic then, I'm a convery now!
Absolutely loving the humor on this channel. Keep up the good work Jody!
I just bought one for $400....absolutely worth it. Never buy something just as it comes out unless it'll be gone forever if you don't.
Same bought it an hour ago lol
Jody, always informative and entertaining, thanks mate.
Great review. I love that it is Solar, that it has a blue tooth connection and that it has a quality metal finish and bracelet. But 600 beans!? Wow. I'm wearing my $14 Casio Royale as I type this, and loving it even more, now.
I wish it was less chrome and more brushed stainless. The bling puts me off, but the full metal & size are awesome.
as a slight g-shock square fanboy this one looks really tempting but the price is too much for me, guess i'll enjoy my recently purchased phoibos quartz submariner as my only full metal watch then
instagram.com/gshock.customworks?igshid=p2f9y1doytwb can get the looks for way cheaper, this guy sells steel cases and bracelets for the square
alright, i did get one a week ago for 20% off (400€) new. really liking it, especially that you can change the language of the day and format of the date (as seen in the video). love the looks (the silver with the light blue backlight gives me nokia 6310i vibes), the feel and the atomic synced accuracy, however it isn't replacing my basic 5600 as my go-to beater, but thats not what i bought it for anyway.
i do plan on getting a blue metal aftermarket bezel+bracelet from aliexpress and want to put it on yet another square i have yet to get just for that purpose, as i really want an all blue full metal one and to see how good these parts actually are and how much of the full metal experience you can get for a fraction of the price of a completely genuine one.
Love the videos man, I got into watches awhile ago and have watched u since.
Thanks mate!
The links on my Armida A12 use spring bars instead of pins/screws. They're easy to remove, but fiddly to get back in. Incidentally you should check out Armida, made by the same factory as Helson, and regular 15% off sales.
Great video and review.
Can't justify paying 500 extra bones for a metal case though... But that's just me and my taste.
I have the Casio 5610 and I love it. I don't think I would pay 600 for this one though.
You can find them around $400 new. I bought my black one for 374€. Totally worth the money!
@@veeaa Stop saying that shit without providing a link for us! 😒
Just picked up the gold one at Heathrow T5! Not really a £400 watch but love it and could not resist it!
Nothing more tempting that duty free watches. I've fallen many a time.
Splendid review and your right JPs collection is fantastic.
get your self-one. if it makes you that happy
There is an argument in its favour......
I absolutely love that you edited that comment lol. I just bought one too.
@@sledgehammerlion You won't regret it, bit of a scratch magnet, but the gold masks them very well.
Always get people looking at it, they think it's real gold lol.
The way I see it, for something like a G-Shock every scratch is a story and adds character.
One for collectors, though I seriously doubt that it will be a good investment. I would be looking at a top end Suunto instead.
At the big retailers (Amazon etc) you cannot find it for the list price. So it's already a good investment.
you know.. i like my world timer ...yeah its not solar and doesnt do the atomic clock.. but it was 22 bucks and has a light albeit a crappy one... but it tells time , has zones, alarms and chrono.. with 100mt wr... never tire of it
11:06: "Are you really gonna be comfortable beating this watch? " .....
Good point.
"Nope" It is, like you said, a collector's item.
My G-Shock 3405 update with the atomic time in Trinidad if usually update around 12:04 a.m. 104 a.m. 305 a.m.
Purchased Casio for $499. Also purchased Skmei #1456 for $17 from AliExpress. One for gentle wear, one to beat to death.
Just bought this one (with rubber strap) because I couldn't justify wearing my Orgs Aquis to work lol. This is the only G-Shock I own
If that was closer to $200 it would already be on my wrist
Good point
Good point but i have one and to be honest $200 is definitely not a fair price for one.
Though not as tough, Seiko's sub brand, Pulsar, makes an amazing alternative ( the pw3001) for less than $100. Paired with a strapcode bracelet, it's a pretty awesome watch!
@@mattap98 those used to sell for around $40. The cheapest I found on eBay was $99.
Worth every penny
I loved the way it looked when it first came out but holy shit is it overpriced.
instagram.com/gshock.customworks?igshid=p2f9y1doytwb this guy makes and sells steel cases and bracelets for a very good price

Is it a good buy at 330 USD?
Sughosh Bhamore where did you find it for 330 usd?
veeaa may I ask where did you find it? I am also from Europe but I can’t find that cheap
Thanks for the video. Very attractive watch. I only have two g shocks at the moment, a mudmaster and a carbon fibre frogman, both would probably qualify as small clocks. But I find them nice to wear nonetheless.
Well, I did it, ordered the metal g-shock square. I had to have one. Did I need one. No. But after all it`s just one more watch.
Rare right hand shot. Love this, immediately checked prices
Casio should have put a sapphire on this. Downright criminal that they didn't.
It suppose that it is made to be hard under hits. Sapphire is more breakable than mineral.
Sorry if my English is not good enough 😅
@@David-lj2yo That would be Casio's excuse. But they put sapphire on the Mudmaster, Gulfmaster, new Rangeman, etc. so I don't think it's valid.
UsernameInvalidTHIS one more thing, titanium case and bracelet. Grade 5 one.
@@David-lj2yo Bullshit. Casio just cheaped out. Sapphire is the way.
I wear only metal bands and put aside my Rolex for this Casio, exactly to avoid unnecessary patina on my Submariner. Instead, I can beat this to hell the casio, which is a tank.

Hi, if made in Japan why C E on back ⁉️
My phone can perform that task
A Gentleman wears because of style not bling
My 2 favourite watches at the moment are Dan Henry 1970, and Victorinox inox and alternate between steel bracelets and wide selection of Zulu straps, Keep up the great job 🏆 Cheers from Perth Australia 🇦🇺
"A beater that's too expensive to be a beater" - your really selling it! I've got a few of them.
I guarantee that you'll be happy. lol
But it’s digital. Nothing to go around in a circle.
I spent months looking for a (round) watch. I despised the square ones and always filtered them out in stores. When I saw this one in black though... it was the first one I bought! Something just made me love it at first sight! I also bought a round mechanical watch later and I think they are great opposites to each other in my tiny two watch collection.
@@0017Bulldog Maybe I should try one to see if it sends me round the bend or not.
@@BubblesandthePurrMonster It's the same with plates, I don't like eating off square plates, it's just wrong. But I will maybe try it.
Anyone else listen to all the nay sayers who say don’t buy it it’s a waste of money! And be like I’m still buying one when I get the money! Full Metal G-Shock is awesome 😎 👌🏻
I want one, but can't justify the price. For that price, I'd rather get an Orient automatic.
Absolutely love it, no issue with the current price, I think its great value for money, what else can you get that's this interesting at the price?
Ive seen your videos of "build your own metal casio for 100" and notice that the back and the strap connection is made of plastic, is the back of this one plastic too? The rear of the lug...
Tnx in advance.
Ps: ive got a seiko skx (jp build) a 24h full lume amphibia and a few other watches... id hive them all for a metal casio if you know some1 that would trade (i live in spain)
Cheers and lots of beers! This is my fav watch channel on TH-cam!
I just picked one up on ebay for 299$ box and papers brand new. It gets here Saturday i cant wait!!!!!
This week i paid €1690 for a G Shock. (GMW B5000TVB). Insane i know but i still think it was worth it. What a stunner!
I don’t believe the solar power system could handle a heart rate monitor. I don’t know, but that maybe the case. I wish I had gotten one of these when I went to the gshock event with mr. ibe at a local jewelry store. Although, since they were charging full retail, maybe I wouldn’t.
.
I think so too. There's no way the watch's solar battery capacity can handle the heart rate monitor, not to mention the processing powered required after that too.
instagram.com/gshock.customworks?igshid=p2f9y1doytwb can buy a steel case and bracelet for your regular square off this guy for a very good price
Love the look of this one . Not a fan of the negative display ones . But is way out of my price . Thanks for the vid and your opinion of it .
Watch the video again.
It is FULL METAL.
I use JJYEmulator to radio sync my GShock Rangeman from Brisbane.
I built my own for a lot less using a regular blackout G-Shock with metal bezel and bracelet.

I love the passion you have for watches, handsdown awesome!
Very nice! Excited to see the Loreo diver review as well
Love the reference to the film. Fantastic film. As for the watch.....you have found the only G-Shock I really like. I agree with you it's stunning. But $600? I love Casio but that is way overpriced
