@@rotor13 TRD cancelled all their super chargers. Magnusen makes a s-charger for the new toyota V6 engine now though

nicholas b or just don’t buy an ugly Avalon at all. Go for a Mazda 6. Looks better, way nicer interior, turbo 2.5L and handles a lot better.
@@7homas0wen Mazda 6 doesn't compete with the Avalon. It competes with Camry and Accord and still comes in 3rd place.
Herbert Johnson not here in Australia. Think Honda stoped selling the Accord here because of poor sales. The 6 and Camry are our competitors. The camry has been getting caught up quick. Wouldn’t buy a Toyota at all after sitting in a Mazda. Toyota just looks worse, handles worse, interior is garbage compared to Mazda, and the value for money is not anywhere near as good as Mazda’s. Don’t see the appeal whatsoever.

They’re only snickering at it because they can’t afford it and are driving cars that will die at 75000 miles and this will keep going to 300k miles +
OMG! I went and test drove one of these last week; it was awesome! I owned a 2006 Avalon Touring for 12 years before it was totaled in an accident several months ago. The '06 was awesome. Super reliable and could smoke the tires at takeoff. I didn't think the TRD was worth the extra money over a normal model but I'm still thinking of getting another Avalon. Great video as always!

Been saying this for a while. Toyota just trademarked 'GR Corolla' and they have a hatchback concept already. I'd love to see that or a TRD version released.
WOULD LOVE a Corolla TRD to go against the Civic Si or even Type-R and N-line....

4:34 the cupholder is square due to customers using it to put their cell phones in it so it will stay in place.

I figured that out the day of the test drive. There is no where on earth that has D shaped cups, but there are billions of people looking to drop their phone in a hole on their car and hope it stays put.
I really like the exhaust note. Would've liked to seen a rwd or awd version though. And I'm not sure what to think of the grill. But it certainly stands out. And it's kinda cool to see people looking at it and thinking ...what is that?

Great review! I love my 2020 TRD Camry with resonator delete omg sounds so awesome! would’ve got the TRD Avalon but 10k is a steep price upgrade. I’m waiting for TRD AWD version if they ever release one.

I never thought I'd see an Avalon with some personality. That rear quarter view reminds me of a late 90's Grand Prix though.
The Aussies used to have one a few years ago that I lusted over but it's nice that Toyota has graced us with one.

@@FastSloW-qt8xf I have owned my 2017 since they came out with no reliability issues other than the typical software updates. The only problems I have are related to my driving like destroying a tire from a pothole.

Well, I guess this confirms my weirdness. Picked up a 2020 white Avalon TRD two weeks ago. Love it, the front grille is a bit over done, but it performs better than my previous Avalon. I had a 1987 Supra and this has come the closest to that vehicle than any other Toyota.

For the money.. Stinger all day. Prettier. Faster. Handles way better. More trunk space. Prettier interior. Better warranty.
I rather have size and smoother ride. My car right now only has 260hp so 300hp in the avalon would be a step up. I love cars but i honestly never use the full speed of my car. I live in a highly populated area so it hardly gets full use

I remember when I had a TRD supercharged Solara (yes, that's right lol...), I wonder why they didn't continue that as the TRD advanced throughout the years.

I have looked at this car, the problem with that huge front end is called a parking spot. Either you don't pull all the way in, or you are going to scrape the heck out of that snout. Smaller front ends fit okay but not that one. Turning circle as Sarah does a great job pointing out is also subpar. Love the review. They won't do AWD however in a sedan, they save that for Lexus only.

Apparently 2022 will be last year Avalon will be produce. I've got mine she's a sharp ride.

I've yet to see the Camry TRD, but I have seen the TRD Avalon (black on black) at the dealer, and holy cow, this car is VERY aggressive up front. So much presence, which really gives off a hardcore vibe styling wise. So good. 👍
P.S. It was also very roomy inside, which is great. 👍

I like the way you think! I had an idea of a 2012 Chevy Cruze SS with the 1.8 and take the turbo off the 1.4 and throw it on with the 6 speed manual at 210hp. Or Colorado SS with the new LS 4.3 v6 rocking a 6 speed manual and an extreme body kit lowered 2 inch all around on 16x8 with 245/50/r16 using all Chevy parts bin.

I liked the Lexus front grills and agree with you that the Avalon TRD grill looks super aggressive! Also love the interior! The rear end not so much; I think a designer went a bit overboard.

I have a request that you can shoot behind a car amp or a speedometer. I'd like to see how fast it turns.
I love that it exists too but I'd dial back the "body kit and rims" look. If this doesn't have the bird's-eye view camera system (and I don't know if Toyota does that), that front lip and/or the rims are gonna look rough after a misjudged curb or two.
I like little hot hatches. They should make a TRD Yaris with a turbo and a manual 6 speed. Wouldn't catch my Fiesta ST, but it would be fun in the corners with some sporty suspension and tires.
It already exists and it's way faster than your fiesta!

@@bongodave13 the previous generation was a supercharged 1,8, manual the grmn yaris and the new one has been everywhere. Its an awd turbocharged 3cyl makeng more than 260hp to all 4 through a manual transmission and its wide bodged! Just search it, you are already on yt
