An OG here. I have a black 2020 model. Aside from the boy racer rear wing and the problematic low front air dam, this is the most grownup car I’ve ever owned. Absolutely thrilled with it. 32mpg at 85mph all day long. Has excellent passing power. Excellent road car for Nana and me. I just ask, if anyone sees a couple of old folks hauling ass down the interstate, kindly move outta of our way.
My wife and I bought the Avalon TRD in 2020, and oh boy the looks you get when you step on the gas pedal. Unfortunately and fortunately for me the Avalon is discontinued, but that just means the TRD model will be a rare bird.
There's no replacement for displacement. Sadly the beloved bread & butter civic sport went to a 1 5 turbo in 2016. Guess they believe my friend who says the smaller the better for mileage ..
@@rstuff1605 Absolutely right! I bought the TRD to replace a Yaris. The reason was.... While the Yaris got excellent mileage around town, it sucked on the interstate. I live in the Ozarks, many elevation changes. Pulling hills with A/C required 3500 to 4000 rpm to maintain momentum. Anyhow, my TRD average combo driving for 25K miles has been 28.3 mpg. And I drive rather aggressively. My only complaint is the frontend paint seems to chip easily. They just don't make paint that can standup to the debris from tailgating folks. Oddly, all my vehicles have weak paint...LOL

I don't imagine anyone would buy any trim level of Camry for driving on a racetrack, but just give it a performance transmission, and this car would be perfect. Would a manual transmission be too much to ask for? I guess we just have to buy a used Accord for that.
I would have chosen the TRD, but Toyota left out some interior comfort features and Cabin noise reduction of the TRD therefore I selected the Camry XSE V6. Too bad they just did not make an XSE -TRD version. Meaning incorporate the TRD components into the XSE. I'm getting the 2023 Camry XSE V6 which is expected to be the last year Toyota will utilize the V6. Toyota intends to discontinue the 3.5L V6 in 2024 only offering the i4, i4 Turbos, and Hybrids. Same here. Mine are destroyed from working on bikes
Hey Sarah, with your score for how difficult it is to work on a car, you should have 1 wrench 🔧 for easy and 5 wrench 🔧 for how hard it is to work on a vehicle. I'm going to need more help, wrenches 🔧 to work on a hard car. I know you get it. Anyway love you videos as always. Thanks. 😘
Brakes are 4533 Toyota 2pots, standard on GSU40/45 Highlanders and many others. These are a great bolt on mod to nearly every Camry, Alphard, Estima etc after 2006. No mods required. Just use brakes and discs from donor car.
A donor Alphard, that would be an expensive way to go
@@plap. read the comment. Brakes and discs are from a Highlander/ Kluger. Can pick up used here in NZ for $150 all up. Didn't say anything about a donor Alphard.
The nerdly loud laugh you incited after the description 🤣 😂 😆 😄 😅... nice😊
I think the term "adolescent parents" works🤣.
I had a brand new 2011 2GR-FE 3.5L Camry. I did my own exhaust and installed the K&N “typhoon” intake. It sounded pretty awesome for a V6. People would always ask “what kinda Camry is that, I thought Camrys were slow?”
such a stellar review! keep it up!
This lady is sharp, great presentation
I learned a whole bunch about this TRD (coming from a 2017 TRD Taco) treatment in a Camry. Thanks a whole bunch. I rock a 2022 Corolla Hatch with a 6M transmission (old school, old Phart driver) and I’m super happy with this vehicle. Warmest thanks for the knowledge. Cheers and Thanks!!
Great review Sarah, your unique doing all your reviews
@Sarah -n- Tuned .. your TRD review deserves a 'stiff-icate' award for the amount of innuendo !!!
Hoorah. 10 seconds into the video and I’m still number 12. You are one popular lady. That’s what he said
Sarah: chuckle for you with today's experience . My old MINI started smoking and smelling today. I thought "this is it. It's on fire and the demise will be quick". Got my fire extinguisher out to put out the engine fire and under the hood was about a pound and a half of peanuts. 🐿
I've been looking for a new car and now am really interested in this. It wasn't on my radar so thanks for the awesome review. I even have the right t-shirt for it. It says "I'm a snowboarding grandpa. That's like a regular grandpa only much cooler"
My 2024 Tundra work truck has a 389 HP Twin turno V6 and it screams! Toyota! Please put that into a Camry!!!! P.S. Sarah Rocks!!
Yea it's amazing value. Still a practical car but not boring. It has not made me stiff but it's a long time marriage sort of car.
If you were like, my best friend, and you had a car with a prop rod hood, I would totally get you hood struts for it.
great review.. love the styling.. now crack on and finish the ranger.. 😋
Those Camry look sick. Great video Sarah
Another great review. Thanks Sarah. I like that u take off the engine covers
Stiffness is important.🐎🐎🐧🐧👍
Sarah, once again, a terrific and thorough review of the car , unlike anybody else out there!! You are single-handedly making a fashion statement by bringing back The Bell bottomed pants of the late 60s !! WOW: 4.6 Penguins !! 5 Cookies. Although this may not be a car for me, it sure does represent to be a True Value for the $$$. Thanks for the video and another opportunity to see you in that Lab coat and Black Glasses. You are the Best Lab Technician on the "Inter-Web".
I have no idea how you crack joke after joke when such a straight face. 👏👏👏
Lol I should’ve saved my comments later in the video you talk about what I was thinking Sarah on the lotus Evora and the supercharger….😜🌮🌮
