This job you did was exactly what my dad did when he was delivering new Mack's all across the country. He had to quit driving tho when a trucker fell asleep of the wheel and ran my dad off the road, causing the trucks he was pulling to basically pollvolt over his rig and smacked the ground somewhere in Tennessee. He was lucky to make it out alive and this video brought me back to that night at 240 in the morning with him on the phone thinking it was gonna be the last moments of his life. Imma watch this whole thing to the end, thanks for the good content you make Jeff!!

So as far as the "jake brake" rule goes, big companies preach new drivers to NOT use them during adverse weather conditions but these safety rules are mostly from executives who have never driven a truck before. In real life, the only time the jake brake has a negative affect during adverse weather is when you're "bobtail" or on ice and snow. As far as rain goes, I've been driving since 2003 and accumulated about 2.5 million miles across our great country and I have NEVER lost traction using jakes in the rain so have at it!

Which is - from the perspective of physics - correct, since the jake brake can be regarded as a "mild" brake, compare to a pneumatic driven brake.

When you got to the beach in Gulfport you were on hwy 90 I live in Long Beach about 5 minutes away from Gulfport so this is a pretty awesome video 🤘🏼

I have Jon Ruda's trucks. Have the KW, Pete and the Freightliner Classic. Love the Classic, you need to get that one also. Have no problem paying for something that is worth it. You should also check out his trailer pack. Love the videos Jeff, keep it up.
Gulf coast big rig truck show is July 17-18 at the coliseum in Biloxi ms. Convoy on the 18th on the beach at dusk for those interested in attending. The convoy will be recorded and posted on big rig videos.
Beta 1.37 is finally out and can't see you to check it out. Im running into a freezing problem but hopefully they'll fix it tomorrow.

That stretch of I-20 from Dallas to the state line is usually pretty heavy traffic irl too, the average traffic speed is about 80 but the truckers only do about 65 so they slow everyone down

As somebody that lives about 30 mins fro. Gulfport i got to say that this map is very close to the real thing like when jeff turned off of hwy 49 on to hwy 90 that what ita like irl.
Thankfully I have the ability to choose what to spend my money on, and if I see a mod I like, I can toss money to the maker if I want it! Hell a lot of freeware mod makers deserve some cash tossed their way for their work. If someone complains about it, it doesn't affect me in the slightest, I just keep on truckin'.
lol. Not really.. these mods can be developed easily if you know basic coding. But hey its your money or your mothers. Im sure it’s mommy’s but it’s fine. Just dont spend too much ;) dont wanna get chargebacks from mommy

Great video, as always. The rig I drive doesn't have jake brake, unfortunately. 2005 Freightliner Columbia. Slick top extended sleeper, dual rear stacks, super singles, CAT, 10 speed eaton fuller

Brake pedal at ten percent once you reach a desired speed, until you reach the very end of the grade in all weather conditions. There folks, now you have your answer. Just because I think Jake's are for ametures, doesn't mean Jeff is wrong. After all, this is a video game. This guy is a great content creator and handles that virtual truck like a master craftsman wields a chisel.
Actually Jake breaks are meant for people who are use to their trucks and know what it does to the truck. So saying it's for amateurs is wrong because an amateur would panic. I'd say Jeff is a pro.

I can honestly agree with this, and it doesn't even have that many customizations on it compared to the original one already in the game. Wouldn't pay more than 5$ for that truck

One of your videos popped up on my suggestion list so I decided to watch it. I am a big fan of sim games and never heard of ATS. I now have it and really am enjoying playing it. Thanks for being so awesome and putting your game play on here its a lot of fun to watch. I might even start making my own videos as well.
Funny you mention the Mary Kay cars. I worked at a Chevrolet dealership and we had a black Equinox come in and we had to put the emblems and stuff on it for the person who got it.
Whenever I see a truck piggybacking other trucks I'm like, I hope they don't come undone.

jeff if you show the truck when the video starts you should show the whole inside with the studio bedroom we wanna see the bedroom in the truck too. its just a game, if it was your own truck i could of understand that your bedroom in the truck is private and if you wanna show it, you can show it. but jeff its just a game show the whole truck my bro.
Not SUPPOSED to use jale on any inclement weather but most people do anyway
looks like the forums say turn jake power down or use lower rpm and use the air brakes as well due to the truck wanting to lock up, seems to be a mixed bag from what I can see and considering it is a game do what you wish much love a fan from NY. (Not the city but the part where all the farms are lol)
The 389 glider & XL classic are well worth the money from Ruda. I haven’t tried the W9 Highway killer but I’m sure it would be too. Just had no interest in getting it. But to those who are against paying for mods there are several great mods in the steam workshop as well. These pay ware mods are usually crazy high detailed & high poly count. If your cpu can handle it id suggest giving them a shot.

As far as the jake brake situation, it’s mad stupid to do so in the rain. I did as a rookie and it nearly cost me my life. It’s best to take her slow down hills with the four ways on in a low gear than risking using the jakes.
