Thank you for the comment! I use a water based polyurethane made by Behr. Water based is tricky because It can fail when used on an oil stain. The only reason I use it is because I like the matte finish and I have learned to wait at least 24 hours before I apply it even if the stain says dries in an hour. I haven't seen an oil based matte finish. Some people say it wont last as long on the oil stain but I have been using it for at least 5 years with no problems so I don't know. I want to start looking into some alternatives where I can get the matte finish but not have to worry about it failing. I hope that helps.

@@jascogoods thanks! I make a lot of things with wood and cardstock. I’ve been using Mod Podge matte glue … have you tried that?
