I have heard that from other people. I don't think I could go complete metric but I would like to get more familiar with it and learn it like a person would a second language. Thank you for the comment.
If you use the two legs on the edges of the doweling jig, you can center the 1/4 and 5/16 dowel holes. I do enjoy your videos. You make almost as many mistakes as I do. Keep it up!
You can use the dowel jig to center over the board when using the holes besides the 3/8...you have to put one of the front legs on the other side of the board...
Big fan of your vids so far. Little tip with dowels. You can microwave them on a paper towel on high for 30seconds to shrink them for a better fit. Maybe that will help with those unamerican measurements.
if you added a small rabbet on the bottom of your side pieces, you could inset the plywood bottom so you wouldn't need to worry as much about the fibers left by the router (and also no plywood edge exposed!) I would have picked the same stain colour. maybe even a sligthly darker one possibly.
Thank you, that is a great idea. I was originally planning to do something like that but then I went with the doweled butt joint instead of a mitered joint. If I cut the rabbet you would have seen the hole at the end because I had the side pieces going all the way to the end. If I would have planned it better I could have maybe reversed the butt joint so the front and back pieces covered the sides or I should have just did a miter joint! lol I hope I was making sense! 😂😂😂

12:21 for that dowel jig, did it say that the drill guides are hardened? If not, they will wallow out and get egg shaped so your holes won’t line up perfectly. The dowelmax system has hardened guides and a lot of companies try to copy the basic design, but skimp on the quality.
IDk, thats a good question. There is no instructions or any literature about it. Ill have to look on the website and see if it says on there. Thanks for the heads up, its appreciated.
