    Rode a T7 on a recent trip to Botswana and South Africa and was duly impressed. Ended up "settling" for the DesertX so very interested in your experience and product offerings down the road. Have a 690 for the more serious stuff, but so far the DesertX is a great traveler and works decent off-pavement.

      Unifilter in Australia have developed an oiled foam replacement air filter to replace the stock paper filter.
      Does anyone know what the US spec bikes are coming with ?

    • @CASTILSECO

      @@glenobrien727Something like: Unifilter AU 53SST for Multistrada Enduro. In the kit comes an oiled foam filter and a filter protector, as a pre-filter, also oiled.

      @@glenobrien727 just want to know how mutch work it is because of the placement under the tank compared to other bikes where it is under the seat

      Yes, I would like to see that too! My biggest (and the only) complaint on this bike is the airfilter placement. 😒

    I do not know about the US but in the UK Ducati provides, with the bike, a lithium battery charger and cabling for both a direct battery connection (SAE) and the connector under the seat.

    WD-40 for the bead. ArmorAll tire shine only inside. The safety bead made be holding off the tire bead if it is a tube type tire. ether

    I've had good luck using the NoMar Tire Lube Paste to seat the tires. Dish soap while cheap and easy is too thin. The tire paste is thick and you can gob it into the leaky spots, it also disappears after a while so no problem using it liberally.

  • @alvaroaragay6333
    @alvaroaragay6333 ปีที่แล้ว

    The tire that you mount behind seems to me to be a Dunlop 908 and you have mounted it without a tube or I misunderstood it.
    thanks and regards.
    Congratulations on the videos.

    Heh sounds like to me its time to cut the back grab bar and fab up a new set up there.. I have been watching this bike for a while and its awesome you have one so now i can see how well it does before i spend the cash on it. Cheers and good luck on the build cant wait to see it done!

    Very absorbing video and great workshop.
    I'd've been quite happy to see video of the tire/tyre installation especially with commentary addressing on-the-road/trailside fitment tips.
    Ducati seem to be similar to KTM re expensive aftermarket parts and subsequent electronic activation fees.

    Rumor has it Ducati would prefer Desert X owners to bring their bikes in for service. I like the fact that you're doing your own service and upgrades because you know how to do it.

    • @CamelADV
      @CamelADV  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sure all the manufacturers and dealers would like every owner to bring their bikes in for service rather than doing it themselves... but it's simply not who I am ;)

    There is a power plug under the seat from factory.

  • @rollyman3754

    The mystery plug is for the Bluetooth unit. $230.00, I installed the Bluetooth unit as I wanted the map displayed on the TFT, just to find out that it's not plug and play.
    You have to take it to the dealership so they can activate the unit. So yea another $89.00 for me to initialize it. Thanks Ducati for that.

    There's a real myth around tyre width. A 120/90-18 has the same profile width as a 140/80-18. The bead width is the same. Any of those tyres, providing that they have the rated load capacity would be suitable.

    Do you anticipate any manufacturer targeting the Tenere bracket? I assume with the state of everything it's economic suicide. Always keeping an eye out, I commute and rely on the format. I'm always disappointed by these releases. Too much power and weight for wet tar patch, ice, or snow. The only thing I can imagine is RE gambling with the Himalayan platform. The KLR seems to have healthily departed. My Gen 2 is barely under threshold with crash bars.
