    If you replaced the timing belt on your car and it does not start we will show you why and how to avoid that. Most vehicles will need some disassembly such as removing fuel lines in order to replace the timing belt or set the timing. This will lead to empty fuel system. So it might take a little bit for the fuel pump to build enough fuel pressure. Also, check if you connected the wiring harness for every sensor, such as crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensors.

    My timing belt ripped while driving on my 05 Chrysler 300 3.5 v6, replaced the timing belt and set timing, when I go to start it everything spins but it won’t turn on need help ‼️

    On those Ford vehicles like the one in the thumbnail the tool that you get from OTC is not marked correctly if you put it with the arrow facing you and pointing up it will be out of time I took one apart that was in time and to get the tool to fit on it correctly you had to face the arrow down and the letters away from you to get it to line up in time just an FYI from my experience

    If your car won't start after a timing belt change... that's the LEAST of your problems. Just hope it freely turns over. More than likely, you skipped a tooth and hopefully no more than a tooth or- you somehow disconnected a sensor which monitors camshaft position. Regardless, absolutely double / triple check that you absolutely have that timing belt on correctly. Match the crank pulley / harmonic balancer with the cam sprockets. After that- see if the car is throwing codes. You'll need a scanner to connect to your DIM - go get one and work the problem. Good luck.

    Excellent video as always, once you get past the accent :) Used to it now. Came here because I recently had my WS Fiesta 1.4l belt changed and the car's lost power. Uses more fuel, too. One thing that came up was that the belt kit comes with camshaft seals, but you need to take the cog off, and they're held on with single use (torque to yield) bolts. There was a long delay getting the bolts in. You'd think companies selling the kits would know this, and supply the bolts. I'm thinking the workshop may have mistimed the camshaft timing. Either that, or one of the many sensors has gone bad.

    I have a 2014 Subaru Outback after timing chain was replaced it I’m not getting no spark or fuel injector pulse . If the timing chain is off by 180°, will I still get spark or not?

    I did my timing job it ran, i had to get back down their to replace cam oil seal. put everything back together, now wont run, turns over and cranks maybe for half a second sumtimes n cuts off or acts like its about to crank then doesnt, sumtimes the dash flicks on and off as well

    Question: just changed timing chain and tensioner and water pump. Car started. Then died. Then used jump start and drove it 1.1 miles.to add air to tire. Then wouldn't start. Tried again to jump start. Wouldn't start. No spark.?? Put battery back on trickle charge. Cleaned plugs.
    Changed out camshaft sensors. No spark ??

    Oh replaced water pump and moved timing shouldn't have but can't start it what did I do wrong can't seem get aligned can't get it stay where it's right????
    If not that was running before I did it????

    I have a 2015 Ford Fusion 1.5 . I replaced the head . I put it back and followed the timing process . The car wants to start but won’t . Any idea or help you can share . I added new spark plugs and injectors also

      Timing is off. I have a 1.6. Did the head and followed this procedure exactly. The timing was off 1 tooth all e times I redid it.

    I have a 1999 Mazda protégé 1.6l
    I recently had to replace crankshaft seal, in the process I had to remove timing belt...
    I made sure my crankshaft and camshafts were at TDC and rotated engine twice to make sure everything lined up and everything before I reinstalled timing belt.
    After installing everything back in I turned the car over a few times but car would not start . What could this be?

      Just redo the timing belt again make sure it's tdc use a screwdriver and rotate engine twice.

    Hi jus recently my timing belt busted on my 98 2.3L ford ranger n I put a new one on and ya I realigned all the timing marks and same forbthe hermonci balancer pully n I know the oil pump is the diamond marking n cam is triangle it's all dead on but actsblike it's trying but won't start but one thing I didn't do was remove the number one plug shud I do that then manually do 2 full rotations then put plug back in n its a no inference engine

      Right!!!..spark plugs in the #1 of 4 cylinder or v6 or v8..Can make the crank seems stuck..You have to take the spark plug out so tge compressed air and leave thru it..Makes interference a Non interfence engine

    What a load of crap. The fuel system will prime on a petrol in seconds. They probably forgot to reconnect the cam or crank position sensor.
    If a car won't start after a timing belt. STOP, scan for fault codes, check the cam/crank sensors have been plugged back in, if all is ok, strip it back down and check your timing. (More than likely the car will tell you what's not plugged in or if the cam/crank correlation is incorrect).

      Have exactly that problem with a 3L diesel. No Errors after 2 tries of cranking, cranking sounds healthy and High Pressure pump has diesel in the see through tube.
