Thank you for this I didn’t have my harmonic balancer on because I wanted to test the timing and as soon as I put it on like you said it fired right up
In a 95 Maxima, if I mistakenly use the minor chain tensioner as the main timing chain tensioner, do you suspect it would cause a no start? I have spark, compression, and a good starter. I used starter fluid so we can rule out the fuel system.
My exhaust cam and crank gears are lined up perfect but intake gear is of by 5 teeth and I have a no start now. Is 5 teeth to far gone ? I do have a interference engine
I just watched a video right now I have a j 3.5 Acura MDX I replace everything and I checked all my timing top dead center when I start up the vehicle they ran for like less than a minute and the check engine light came on and then when I checked the code it was p0344 so could I be off timing from the cam
Duck ! I messed up . About 110k I replaced the tb & wp. Took my time , watched a lot of videos and asked a lot of questions. But ever since I replaced the tb , I would get misfire codes and the engine definitely feels likes it’s misfiring. I think I messed up at the crank pully with the marking . It’s been over a year now , fortunately the car hasn’t left me stranded. And I’ve taken many road trips from FL to VA . Should I recheck the timing ?
The pulley should have a timing mark. It's either a small arrow or a dot in most cases. Also, make sure cylinder #1 is at top dead center. Line up the camshaft mark at the sprocket. Use a camshaft holding tool if it's a dual cam.
My belt stripped on my 2018 peugeot boxer, full belt and water pump replaced, both sensors replaced, timing checked and still correct. P050b code showing on the diagnostic. It turns over plenty of compression i can hear a put put noise as it turns over from the air filter. I think ill need to check the camshafts but everything sounds normal
I just replaced timing belt tensioner hydraulic, crank sensor and align all timing marks on 2005 sedona. Prior to changing belt the idle was having misfires but at higher rpm , ran ok. I restarted engine and ran ok at higher rpm's but still have rough idle and misfire on #3 and bank 2 oxygen sensor code new codes. On second start up I inadvertently forgot to put the crankshaft bolt and the Timing Crankshaft Sprocket slid forward on crankshaft about 1/4 inch like it was going to come off but the engine turned off and now won't start. I had installed a new crankshaft sensor. Removed it and there were visibly excess rubbing in the sensor channel. Any idea what need s to be done? Also when I try start engine, it feels like it reverse direction while it's turning over. On this interference engine. Is it required to remove 1 plug and set TDC before aligning timing marks on cam gears and crankshaft? I'm about ready to send it to the crusher. It does have 225,000 miles. Any advice would be greatly appreciated $$. Ty...
Hi mate I had my timing belt changed by a garage and when I start the car, the car was sounding like a rotary engine after driving it a week hoping it will go back to normal, the car shut down and only cranked but did not turn on and the same garage said the engine is done any clues ( is a 1.2liter vauxhall/ opel corsa) please help😊
Timing was replaced on my 2008 Jeep Commander and it will only start with the camshaft sensor unplugged. It runs and drive great after I get it stated. Not sure how to solve the no start while cam sensor plugged in
Ok so, I thought it was the starter, then I thought it was the alternator cuz I replaced the starter still just cranks... I being told it might be my alternator or timing chain. All my sensors have been replaced my battery is brand new... what else is there ...please help
Okay so I fucked up lol. I can’t get mine to move I need to set it at the 11 o’clock and 1 o’clock position on top the bottom lines up at 4 o’clock but can’t get the top two when I turn then motor it turns but stops before a full turn. (I pulled the timing chain off before setting the 11/1 o’clock top ones

I just emailed you, hoping to find a remedy to correct timing on 2016 CRV without tearing back into the timing cover 😢

Great video thanks

Well how can you set the proper timing when the eco tech I was working on the camshaft sprockets can only go on one way because of the notch on it

Yes. Engine performance will improve once timing marks are aligned.
@ Thanks for responding. Do you have a video on how to properly time the crank pully ?
The pulley should have a timing mark. It's either a small arrow or a dot in most cases. Also, make sure cylinder #1 is at top dead center. Line up the camshaft mark at the sprocket. Use a camshaft holding tool if it's a dual cam.
And make sure to rotate the engine two revolutions to make sure timing did not move out of place.

Is it possible to replace the cam caps...?

#1 on compression stroke

It sounds like timing was off and then maybe timing jumped or belt probably broke.
That will cause a no start due to possible bent valves/low compression.
@@Top5AutoRepairs thank you very much, Really appreciate best mechanic channel ❤️
Hi I need help I have a 2000 baleno coil pack version after I changed the cam seal I got no injector pulse on 2 and 3
Hi i kept trying to start the engine on bad timing chain . Is it possible that i damagedy engine ?

After a tb replacement on a Honda civic it no longer starts, could that be the crankshaft position sensor?
@ yes but it could also be that the timing chain positioning is off
When I let go of the clutch I hear something so when I push the clutch back in I don’t hear it any more what could it be ?
Throw out bearing, in case you haven't diagnosed it yet. Needs new clutch probably.
👍👍
Timing chain replaced and power steering crunk up fine got gas came back home and once I turned in the drive way suv shuts
Off
Won’t start back thinking timing jump again
What was it?

Did you get it figured out? I’m having similar trouble
It’s most likely the timing belt
Could be immobiliser
My step dad changed the timing belt and the car will start now, however when he goes into drive it has 0% power, know what this would be?
Timing might be off
