- The government of Nigeria has changed the country's national anthem. Tinubu and his fellow indigenous neo-colonialists didn't compose a new one. They reverted to an old anthem a British lady, Lilian Jean Williams, wrote and handed over to Nigerians as Britain prepared to leave the West African country. That move horrified Rudolf Okonkwo, a teacher of Post-Colonial African History. Here is his list of top ten things wrong with the new old Nigerian national anthem.

The lyrics of the colonized national anthem are impressive, I mean, they contain powerful words. But, this is just a small part of what we anticipate from the government.
Citizens are suffering from hunger, unemployment, and homelessness - these are fundamental necessities that must be addressed. Ensuring people's wellbeing should take precedence over memorizing and singing a song.
Brethren, it's with a very heavy heart that I annouce to you that Nigeria has been Re-Colonized.
That's our independence national anthem
@@chidera66 Which Independence ...?

@@wisdomenake242 is it not our native land?

Backward ever should be the slogan of the APC ruling party.
Nigerians and our misplaced there are many things the should be done in Nigeria first before we focus on changing a national anthem
Mr. Okonkwo, don't you think that bringing back the old anthem is timely, given the fact that all you reeled off here have been ignored. It's time for the country to take another long look at the anthem, and begin to see how we abandoned the strong prayers and goodwill expressed by Lilian Williams in her 1959 anthem.
Stockholm Syndrome. These "strong prayers and goodwill " were being sung when its singers slaughtered 3 million Biafrans like you (assuming you are not a ronuist BATist using a fake name!)
But is this our main priority we are talking about putting food on people's table
I like this anthem.
I support this anthem.
Why
@@juliuschukwu189 it stands for unity. Look at where division and tribalism has landed us today
@@geesimon1372 "Arise O compatriot, Nigeria's call Obey. To Serve our fatherland, with love and strength and faith.....one nation bound in freedom, peace and unity." Where in this anthem does it oppose or stand against unity?
@@abioduna.1241 you are getting me wrong. I said it stands for our unity and that's why I support it. It doesn't oppose or stand against unity
By singing unity in our Anthem will not bring any unity in our country rather we need justice, rule of law ect.
Druglord Tinubu, we hail thee
Boring and colonial.
