That is exactly it Jay. Feeling like you belong and can thrive, that is what drives "being" somewhere.. I felt very "at home" in Paris, as did Kadie. Given an opportunity, we would live there in a heartbeat.
This. This video is one of my favorites on your channel. We can really feel how happy Paris makes you and grateful you are to the opportunity of living here. I love the optimism and hope you portray. Keep on striking forward and good luck! I hope to meet you one day. Maybe we'll cross paths on the metro as I often take the same lines you show on your videos hahahahaha :) Big hug!
Thanks Michael! Paris is definitely where I want to be - and I am super fortunate for the chance to be here. Be sure to come to the next meetup if you're in town!
It’s great to see how much you love Paris and how deeply you understand the French culture already. You are not just another American guy in Paris, you truly are one of us ;) !
You could probably say the same thing about life in general. A good analogy. I'm happy for your process so far! Things are progressing quickly for you! It's been inspiring to watch and I really appreciate that you share it with us!
Hey Jay! Yet another awesome video! Looks like the needle is pointing in the right direction with regard to the Prefecture stuff. Not to jinx anything, but congrats on passing another milestone in the process. We so admire your tenacity and determination which we find very inspiring as we look ahead to embarking on our Paris expat journey a year from now. Many thanks for your refreshing transparency and honesty. Glad you celebrated with a cheat lunch! That pizza and beer looked amazing. Cheers!
If they’re taking your fingerprints, that means they’re putting you into the system which is a good sign (the Greek embassy did it for me when I was getting my passport); they wouldn’t do it otherwise, because basically they’ll link it to all your documentation. So that’s great news there! Please let us know about the watches, I’m really keen on them and I think they’re really swank ! And I know the feeling about being at home in a European city, I felt the same way when in Athens. I’m really happy for you dude👍🏻
Hey Jay I have a question. Obvious answer I think but still I'm craving confirmation. When we see you walking/running off into the distance, or across the street, etc., (like at 4:48) do you set up your camera on the sidewalk and leave it there filming you? and then you walk back all the way to pick it up, and have to walk the entire distance again to get to where you were going in the first place? You do that a lot in your videos, so that's a lot of double (triple?) walking! And how about the risk of someone just grabbing your camera/phone? Is Paris THAT safe? Ok that was more than one question. Thanks in advance for putting my mind at ease -- and congrats on your great progress on your immigration situation. I moved to the US from abroad so I went through a similar process... just substitute USCIS for Prefecture :)
The move to the US is probably even more stressful in many ways - I hope that it all worked out! As for the camera situation, you're not the first to ask, and you're not the first to be left wondering in the mysteries of the vlog... ;D
Oh, so you're not divulging your trade secrets, huh. How inconsiderate of you :) Yes, my move went well fortunately, but it was a several year process from visa to permanent residency and eventually to naturalization. Good luck with yours!

If you give me all of your butter, I will agree without further argument ;D
Second part is so emotional Jay, shout-out for sharing with us you these thoughts. Love you.
Thanks man - just trying to remain open.

It was solid! Paname makes some great beer and the food is definitely tasty.
Really great news!
Thanks!
Aaah congratulations on your cool visa news Jay! Just catching up on your vlogs here 😊
Thanks! Moving in the right direction!
Show up to the prefecture like the spaz you introduced this clip. Hehehehe
That would go over well 😂

Yeah, all signs point to GREEN. As for the watches, I'm collecting them today =D
Almost 4K! By the end of the week you will have it.
Here's hoping it's today!
Nice one Jay, am a pretty new subscriber but am chuffed for you nonetheless!
Thanks so much! New or not, I'll take the excitement =D I'm glad you're here!
What was the name of the restaurant you went to yesterday? Looked pretty good!
Yesterday? For pizza/beer? That was Paname Brewing Co - one of my favorites. Really reminds me of home.
Did Franz Kafka design the French bureaucracy?
Either him or Satan. Having a hard time figuring out which.
3.9....holy cow!
Getting close!
Goodness gracious, just SLEEP!!!
Haha - working on it! Easier said than done, believe it or not =D
So close to 4K 😱
Crawling closer.... =D
