I'm so happy this didn't turn into another early access game that died out the gate, the updates have been awesome. I've been revisiting this week too and love it, it even has a small online playerbase, unheard of for an indy flight game in early access
I think it's funny that he crashed after a black out. Many modern planes have terrain avoidance that take over after high G maneuvers and no pilot input.
I can't tell if your inputs actually go through during g-loc in this game. Yesterday I blacked out, then turned my plane around while still blacked out (I think)
@@thesongfinderman they don't, your input returns to 0,0 and the plane goes straight. you can see it happen by going into the third person mode and holding pitch up for a while
looks better than war thunder tbh. especially TGPs and all displays. quite modern. reminds me of early flight sims like Falcon 4 etc. They are still relevant and better than most of the AAA sims out there.
Hey Devildog, I just want you to know about a few of the games mechanics. You can switch to a jammer when flying jets to help lose radar guided missles (SARH, and ARH) but that requires you to either hug the terrain or "notch" the missles (fly perpendicular to the radar emitter). If the missile warning says "SARH", that is a Semi-active Radar Homing missile. so flares do nothing and you need to hide from the emitter (the launcher), hug the ground (jammer helps this) or notch it (jammer helps this too but it's very hard to do). If the missile warning says "ARH", that's an Active Radar Homing missile, so it has it's own radar emitter and is hard as hell to evade, hide or notch but also know that it was a plane launched missile (the same ones you were using) so that tells you the threat is close-ish. Oh and for when you are attacked by an IR missile, Throttle down is very important less so for crickets and for the ifrit and revoker (the planes with afterburners) they have to be throttled down for a while for the IR to lose em making close to mid-range IR missiles a death sentence for em.
check the workshop i spent hours working on adding to escalation "Total War Escalation" i made it a tad more difficult to just punch any old hole in the defenses by air and set up defence points on the ground for both sides to stem the spawnslaught
@@judahmarquis8702 i made some changes and turned down the escalation its a WIP for me carriers are on the east coast now for both teams. to be fair i hardly created anything just added to the largest mission available
I love this game. Really hope the devs keep going and it gets more attention. Would be crazy if it got to the point where there were multiple 100 player servers.
Holy, last time I've watched one of your videos was back when you still were making Space Engineers content like 8 years ago... damn am I old. Glad to be back.
You can switch to the radar jammer countermeasure (default is v to switch I believe) and it just increases the height of the radar floor and can shake off most SARH missiles and help notch ARHs
The game is amazing, though for the times I am feeling really lazy, I wish I could just turn on Ace Combat mode. Where it controls almost identical to Ace Combat. Sometimes trying to flying feels a bit much for me. Though I realize I am in the minority.
@@major3336it’s like a forza of combat flight: you can bind up sticks throttles and whatnot, but it works perfectly well out of the box with a controller
@@Mr00TedAwesome. From watching the gameplay, it seems like a good game to just sit back and relax with a controller instead of using a joystick. That’s why I was asking. Thx!
Does the F-35 have a tracking camera like that? I just did a quick search and it has a second frikin mini-cockpit underneath, idk if it does the same thing as the camera in this video though.
Played this Game too, a few times, but my Game alway Kills the Configuration of the Hotas SSystem so, after one or two Rounds Bammmmm all Button and Stick Assignments are gone. :(
I love this game, ive been playing since it was released. So happy theyve added building destruction so i can "accidentally" drop a 20kt on the main city😅
@@TheDevildogGamer do you use alt accounts to avoid this ever? i wouldn't blame you to not have your name be devildog in games because you're just gonna get griefed.

It is fun in co-op too, so you don't need a large playerbase.
This game DESERVES more attention. It's on it's way to being astonishing if THIS is basically 25% of the planned game total.
we need a map editor with the mission editor
Wakes up from black-out. "That's not good." smashing straight into the hill side 😂
Been playing this game so much in the last week when I decided to just dive in. Such a good game for being to EA. Glad to see another video on it.
Fun fact! You can move the ground forces by clicking on them on the map, then clicking where you want to send them
That’s awesome. Can’t do that in DCS
WAIT? sp now its also like an RTS?
@taubrigadier it's been like that since the demo ages ago.
How did I not know about this!! Thanks man!!!
As a huge fan of the early to mid 2000s flight games on my PS2. I feel that this is the spiritual successor to the PS2 game "Dropship"

Happy 4th of July Devildog! Thank you for the awesome content, been watching since the ARMA 2 MSO days :D loving your work! Stay Awesome!
Great video. Keep featuring this game imo, it deserves a large player base and people supporting the small dev team!
In case you haven't figured out, this game supports HOTAS and Track IR, definitely recommend

This reminds me so much of having fun in Multiplayer back in Novalogic's F-22 Lightning III/Raptor.. the nuclear option included.
about time! This game is absolutely needing more attention
Love that SDI spot!
its so shit, no self respecting business or gunsmith will hire you if you use SDI
I remember when it came out looks like they added cool stuff
Really happy you posted this because i forgot about this game and now i've been binge playing it lol

You can enable TRACKir in the settings if you have it. I thought I remember you using one for DCS, the planes all have HMD which is awesome

When I bought this thinking it wouldn't be any good I ended up playing for a solid 10 hours in one sitting
I enjoy this game a lot. It’s really good with an Xbox controller as well
4:31 he didn't know until he woke up
Bought it, thank you DevilDog
this game is basically Vtol Vr, but non VR
Exactly what I needed cause I sweat a shit ton using my vr headset
wow looks good. maybe ill reinstall. i wish there were a little more variance in the smoke columns.
can you use track ir?
Yes

I saw a Air force veteran play this game but with flying controls I forgot what's it called

Happy Independence Day

Ive never played the pvp (my internet sucks)
But really enjoying the game so far.
hmm this is cool
All this SDI sponsorships... inb4 garandthumb or micah mayfield collab. I'd love to see Mike play GZW.
Asuh dudes
You play with a controller? MKB? Or A joystick/flightstick??
I play it with controller and HOTAS, HOTAS is obviously preferred, but you can do just as well with a controller
Cool. I’ve been thinking on buying it and I kinda wanted to use a controller. I have a joystick too though.

Most likely yeah, most aircraft these days running any kind of air to ground have a targeting pod like that
It's all fiction vehicles base off some designs

more pls
does it have flight stick compatibility?
Yes
