This helps. I had to use a little saw to cut thru the white pin to get it out of the housing to get it off my heat sink. Why on earth can't they leave the parts separate in a pack of new mount pins! Instead they assemble them and then make them vulnerable to breakage before they are even used. Crazy! Thank you
I love that you did this in one take showing some mistakes but all in all good tutorial. Your video is the only one that I saw that disassembled the whole frickin' thing! Thanks!
Thanks sooner my channel gonna hit 1000 subscribers, you also subscribe it's free, and you can find pins in local junk yard or online or local repair shop, this thing's are cheap Don't over pay, or you can buy new full heatsink for less price in Amazon
thank you very much. It is not easy to get them removed (if they are already broke, then its fine to break them anyways). Installation is quick. thanks
This should be shown with a description "how not to do things". Use shims (you can make them out of soda can or plastic shot glass, but anything thin and bendable will do). White internal part has 4 sides. Two of them are completely flat without any notches and those sides are on the opposite to each other. It also has one tooth-like protrusion on it's top side that you will need to be mindful of. First rotate black external part so that it's latches align with blank flat sides on the white internal part. Insert shims perpendicular under both black latches, make sure shims got under the protrusion of the latches and then rotate the black external part so the tip of the arrow on top is aligned with protrusion (tooth) on the white plastic's internal part. Then pull on the black part and remove shims when black latches pass them. It will come off way easier and you will not break anything (even protrusion on the internal part will be OK).
Yep, heatsink clean and repaste, 3 out 4 pins failed, just hope I can retrieve spares from an unused mounting kit - as the only place I seem to be able to get them otherwise means a slow boat from China
Sunil Kumar took an old heatsink off, and 3 of those broke, and no local supplier, but another heatsink had alternative mounts - it seems the trickiest thing is getting them out undamaged
Brian (Techyescity) always strips, cleans and repastes, so thought I'd try it - as I wasn't happy with the temperatures. Got a lot more dust and fluff out than if I'd left it in place.
You can change the fan or u can buy full original second hand heat sink and fan for 150 rupees, or after market cooler if you can spend money, these are the professional solution I can give. There are so many unprofessional tricks are there but I know but I won't recommend. Let me know if you need any other information.
No, to remove only u need to twist. Follow this steps to lock. 1. Unlock the pin. 2. Keep the pin in top lock position means full end position, opposite to Grove position. 3. Then carefully press if you here click noise, then it's lock, no need to do anything, just for sefty, check it's position it's should be opposite to Grove position. If you didn't understand let me know
@@princesunil26k What is “Grove Position?” I heard all the pins “lock” upon assembly but I turned the “pin heads” in the direction of the arrow “counterclockwise” because I assumed that turning in the direction of the arrow would lock the pins. Do I need to reset the pins and start from the beginning, or can I just rotate the “pin heads” clockwise back to their original position?
