- Senator Fawcett questions Minister Penny Wong about the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade's advice to the Government regarding its decision to not donate the MRH-90 Taipan helicopter fleet to Ukraine.

This whole MRH thing has been a disgrace. If they are safe, why is nobody questioning why the ADF decided to pull them apart and bury them before the findings of the inquiry. Not the mention the 400 airbus tradies that got made redundant and had to leave the industry. It seems nobody is responsible. Heads need to roll but it is a giant cover up.
Absolutely mate. The way this has been handled and swept under the rug is a travesty. Why aren’t the main stream media reporting these facts, I thought they lived drama, and this would certainly cause that.
Let’s also be clear, the MRH didn’t just fall out of the sky, on that fateful night.
Were you around when the Blackhawk was first introduced? Or do you need reminding that there was massive concerns/issues with Blackhawk back in the day? Funnily enough for very similar reasons the MRH is called crap, parts procurement.

Yes, of course Aus is going to run into issues, being the lead country with MRH. Maybe due to that Airbus could have supported Aus better, due to Aus essentially doing unofficial Research and Development on the platform. So Airbus could have better supported parts availability, which is a very high percentage of the MRH downfall, not all the reported media rubbish.
Buck, you are ex Army, you know better than that !! They were removed from service, you have a pretty good idea what it takes to keep an airframe certified and airworthy !! To bring them back to a certified airworthy state because they were not kept up to maintenance standards that has slipped. The Senators comparison to the NZ model is an exercise in smoke and mirrors !! And I can say very openly I am no fan of Labor and their disgraceful attitude and handling of Defence.
It's all under Wong's direction and treason against Australians she's utterly inept to advise our military on anything let alone protect us against Chinese invasion she's clearly compromised nothing could be more obvious her acting is abhorrent she got one thing correct she's not influential at allllllll so why is she holding our most important valuable portfolios that's where needs to be answered Wong is a bully who doesn't like being questioned with he/him slimy smarmy ways that fake giggle is as bad as Kamala Harris

Thank you Senator for all your efforts to help our friends in Ukraine. A shameful response from Penny Wong and her body language suggests she is avoiding the issue because something stinks.
Giving our money to others for free is not a game. Someone is benifitting from. The deal. Much of the equipment that goes to Ukraine is sold in the black market by Ukraine.
Are they your friends? They are a police estate run by dictators, hijacking power, and cancelling elections.
@@Yourbrightspot The United States military tracks weapons shipments to Ukraine and claim there is zero evidence of aid being diverted. They are also creating a website, where it is publicly available.

@malcolmgibson5088 this is not correct. The drug warlords of South America are using Ukranian supplied weapons. Even the US is complaining about the weapons sold in the black market. Nothing is spontaneous when someone pops up from nowhere and claims he is supporting his brothers that he does not even speak their language. Ukraine is a very corrupt country.

Ridiculous, she cant find anytime to to give the senator to discuss any remaining Taipans which can be sent to Ukraine to help in humanitarian purposes. Labor government is a joke, between Albanese, Bowen and Wong i can see why Australia is going backwards.

War is not a laughing matter, minister Wong. There is a war in Europe and lives are being sacrificed for democracy. The very least you can do is make time to meet and discuss the Taipan helicopters.
Have democracy in Australia first before talking about democracy. If you do not know, the presidency of Zelensky has expired, and he has cancelled the elections. Which democracy are you defending.

The consideration or a rational thought on assistance to Ukraine should not be predicated on a diary. I am usually an admirer of M Wong, but not on these issues, what is WRONG with a pause ?

Senator Fawcett has pointed out it doesn't hurt any Australian interest to temporally pause this disassembly of the remaining "MRH-90 Taipan Helicopters" to consult with Germany, France and NHI if they would be willing to take the disassembled "MRH-90 Taipan Helicopters" and reassemble them for use for Ukraine in the Evacuation of Wounded Soldiers from the Battle Field, if after contacting Germany, France and NHI they aren't interested in taking on the responsibility for the Reassembly and Maintenance of the remaining "MRH-90 Taipan Helicopter Fleet" that the Australian Military have left, then by all means continue the ripping the MRH-90 Taipan Helicopters apart but... There needs to be someone in leadership in Government to finally step in and tell the Australian Military that they have spoken to Germany, France and NHI and that Australian will be gifting the remaining "MRH-90 Taipan Helicopters" to Ukraine, but we all know that the Australian Prime Minister doesn't have the leadership to actually take this action..
