The thing I love the most about our natural hair is the fact that it's so unique to us. EVERY black person no matter the texture or whatever has hair that's unique to them. It amazes me how you could have the same texture but different shrinkage rate or density etc.... and it makes it look or behave completely differently from one another. Our hair is as unique as our fingerprints and that's what makes it awesome to me.

Not to get too scientific or anything. But, it makes sense given that hair are just strands of DNA & has proteins unique to you. God knew what he was doing. We are i-Robot=Unique!!!

Or different textures on the same head!
Ironically enough this makes it difficult to follow natural hair "gurus", because even with the same hair type, what might work on one may prove disastrous to another.

I'm gone through chemo 4 months ago so my hair really grew it took so long to see full hair on my head 😫 so now I see it's healthier stronger and going to be frizzy (don't know how to say it in English) it's not very long so it's wavy but happy I can brush them and put hair styler on them 🤗 you hair looks gorgeous you're a goal !! I can't wait to achieve your length

You have the BEST short hairstyles for natural hair! Your hair always looks so healthy, so shiny, and has wonderfully defined curls. Even though it's a pain, you take the time to style your hair. The results are extra-ordinary! You are beautiful so short or long hair works for you. Thank you for showing us how much variety and style our short natural hair can have! Be blessed!

I was so insecure the first time I cut my hair but it was so damaged due to me bleaching and dying my hair so often, Its been a up and down journey. I started off not knowing anything about natural and messed up a few times but I have gotten better and even starting to understand my hair type ❤❤ This my first time watching your video but I definitely love the vibe and can't wait to watch more

This video is so me. I didn't even think about it being the coconut oil drying my hair out but i knew i wasn't getting the great results like others. I'm at 5 months and i can finally say im loving my twa. Major growth and trying lots of new things. Your length also resembles mine at this time. Coils take forever but im getting better lol. And i love how you don't use alot to do your coils. All I've known was relaxers so its been hard. Thank you for sharing.

You are right about the coconut oil. Good advice. Ladies, be careful. If you hair doesn't like Coconut oil it can really become unmanageable. My texture even changes when I use coconut oil. From 2C/3B/3C *Yep got 3 textures. A nightmare to do, as I have to use diff products for ea section. Anyway, My hair will go from that to 4ZZZ (4 triple Z)!!! So, coconut oil is not for everyone. I am so jealous it smells so good & it looks so great when other women put it n --I get so jealous. But, what are you gonna do. I cannot do it. Although, if it's in products I can use it. I can't use it by itself. I have to listen to my hair.

I've been natural for 7 years and I'm cutting my hair off. I've been binge watching your videos just to prepare myself. I'm terrified. It's not damaged or anything, but I'm tired of long hair

    • @alishadanielle.2902

Kityara James Hey it's natural to be a little shaken when you make the decision to cut a year ago I cut all my hair off after being natural for about 3 years of transitioning from relaxed hair at this point my hair wasn't damaged at all.. the relax ends were gone.. but the moment I got in the chair I told myself this was it. It took a while for me to get used to it..(waking up and touching a bald head 😂😂) but I loved it and actually had the urge to go back and cut it again but I miss my Puffs..my puff is big but not big enough for me yet lol...if you're adamant about cutting your hair off go for it and embrace it... you're beautiful long hair short hair no hair whatever..it will always grow back..and it'll grow back even better.. and if you decide to keep it cut there's sooooooo many different cuts and styles you can play around with..I hope this encourages you girl.. blessings to you!!! 🙏+✌

My hairs already natural but I’m currently growing it out from a short cut for the second time. Smh every other day I want to cut it short again! Lol. But definitely use castor oil. It helps. And styling on wet hair will help your curls pop more and not have to coil them so much and using a denman brush. I have a denman brush dupe from Walmart 😊

No doubt you should always listen to your hair forever and always over anyone else. You can try shampoo and conditioner that has oils in them. The Argan oil of Morocco shampoo and conditioner or even detoxifying pomegranate and ginger shampoo and conditioner. It’s restores strength in your hair and retains your beautiful curls; also ride all the gunk you used to help your hair grow. There’s nothing wrong with wearing wigs or wearing braids. That will definitely increase your hair growth

  • @JasmyneContours
    @JasmyneContours ปีที่แล้ว

All hair grows, you are good at retaining length. I have learned to baby the ends and spoil them, and I get much of the same result. The roots need minimum. Follow that rule, you flourish! Its so fun to watch hair flourish. ❤ its not fun being in the natural hair community though,

  • @jls_cb

Omg !!! I cut April 24th I'm glad I subscribed lol!!! We are at about the same length. I felt the same way. I had pixie cuts before and was so ready to be like "relaxer" . We seem to have the same hair type too. Like.....I'm just able to make a high puff. Ayyyyyeeeee 😝

I literally paused at 2:58 to say how beautiful you are. I just bald my head off after using a texturizer. My hair was a little shorter than yours. I wanted to get some curl pattern in and the Texturizer made it worse. I look like I had a perm and I didn’t want that. My hair was your length but I wanted to cut off any ends looking like it had perm. Then to texturize it and mess it up more. Now I’m Amber Rose bald. I should’ve cut it and left it alone but I’m looking forward to my natural hair. I miss rocking my short cuts. Hair laid to the Gods when it was permed but my head can’t take the chemicals anymore. Lesson learned.

Coconut is a protein treatment for hair, that's why it leaves hair crispy or husky. Never use it to add moisture to hair.
Things like Shea butter and jojoba oil, neem oil etc adds moisture and pops curls.

my hair hates coconut oil. i went natural by accident. i asked beauty college to put rinse in my hair & they put semi-permanent color in my hair & it broke off so bad. i got a relaxer & then-another beauty college cut it all off-the same day. so-now-my hair is natural. i really don't like my hair natural. i am addicted to my relaxer. i have went natural 4 different times. every time i go natural-alopecia eats my head up. i went natural november 16, 2017. my hair has grown-but not much. i am going to leave it natural until i get rid of alopecia completely & grow my edges back. after which-i'm going back to my relaxer. face over matter-by the way-your hair is absolutely gorgeous & it's growing really well. i tried cantu curl activator 1 time when i went natural once before. i'm going to try it again-just to do something different with my hair instead of the teeny-weeny afro.

My hair gets crunchy with coconut oil too. And it also loves Cantu she’s butter products AND we have similar textures!

I never had an itchy scalp until I started using Cantu! Idk what is in it, but I am not the only person that had this problem. It might be the Cantu that’s making you itch.

LOVED the style! How did you refresh it each day/keep your hair and scalp from getting dry? Will working out ruin it? lol
