Black women sleep on themselves. Most are sitting on a head of beautiful hair they don’t even know they have. We were born perfect. That’s why society tries so hard to tell us we aren’t beautiful just the way we are. But we are born beautiful with perfect hair and skin, and features and bodies. We are the first women.

When you said “cope with having natural hair.”😩 crazy that society programmed us beautiful queens have to figure out how to “cope” with our hair, as if it’s some sort of illness. Thank you for this❤️

Girl, I have the thickest hair & the tightest curl pattern in my family. Nobody wanted to do my hair & although it was long, it was a struggle to do anything with it when it was relaxed. I’ve been completely natural for 8 months now & I’m about to get a silk press so that I can get my ends trimmed. I am scared that I won’t feel beautiful with straight hair because I’ve grown to love my natural hair so much. Luckily, I can wash it and it will revert, but I’ve done a 180 on what I view as beautiful and I’m so thankful! I’m so comfortable in the skin I’m in now.

This video inspired me a tremendous amount. I’ve been natural for 7 years but last year for my 21st birthday I chopped all my hair off. I loved it initially but I hated it after the first day. It’s crazy because my hair journey date is 8 days before yours, but I was so inspired and excited by your hair growth journey. It made me appreciate my hair all the more and love what God gave me all over again. Thank you so much. Also, please keep loving Jesus, it’s such an inspiration to me. God bless hun!

Zaire Colston hey..I also got a big chop..let's start a natural hair group..maybe like a challenge..6 months or 9...I feel so sad and this will encourage us together

    • @emblem8018
      @emblem8018 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Don't feel sad :(. BE ENCOURAGED! Be motivated. BE confident. If you want to watch a hair growth challenge here's one -> th-cam.com/video/h9XYQBKjUU0/w-d-xo.html
I also recently big chopped and I did it for me. Not for anyone else because if you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything (quote by Malcom X) Your confidence has to be the one thing that other people can't take away from you. Be mentally prepared for the hair struggles that may come too. My hair is at a twa and it's HECKA short. And at this stage it's understandable to be impatient for your hair to just grow already so you can be out of the awkward stage. Honestly, some days I get REALLY desperate and my hands are always in my hair massaging it because I can't wait for the growth. Now it's in a protective style just to limit manipulation to my hair and I'm still eager to get hair AT LEAST longer than it is now.... but sometimes you need to take a step back and focus on what's truly important. Which is the health. Sometimes you need to distract yourself from your hair too because when you're focused on it too much you become obsessed every day to see new growth. I say sometimes forget about it and do what you need to do. As long as you're taking your time and enjoy the journey you'll be okay :) . Maybe update me on your results when you see them ;). And have fun on the ride!

wow this was actually really inspiring! this thursday marks my one year natural and i have been battling with the length and curl pattern. i wanted my curls to be longer and i missed the waist length relaxed hair i used to have. but now I am really starting to grow with my hair and this video reassured me that my hair is beautiful the way it is. Thank you so much!! Being in high school plays a major part because i feel like i have to look a certain way to truly be beautiful and I know now to listen to Gods voice.

I love you... I just love you! You’re such a beautiful encouraging woman of God! Ive always had long hair but a freak accident with a new hair product I was forced to chop all my hair off. It was one of the worst days of my life but after realizing it’s just hair and my hair does not define me I got over it. Things happen for a reason and I am BEYOND happy my hair can flourish naturally as it should. Your video has giving me confirmation to trust the process and enjoy the ride. This was by far the best ,most, creative hair journey I’ve seen thus far 🌻 . God has really used you through many different ways . You’ve really inspired me to do more with my life as in perusing in TH-cam and walking out on faith and talking about the good things of the Man above . I’ve been following you since day 1. Being the same age you’ve really motivated me . And I pray God continue using you ! And you continue to walk on the path God has created for you ! 🌸

Your go to hair style was mines as well! The short relaxed hair with short or shaved sides were my favorite and I mastered it! I have been going back and forth between natural and relaxed since 2011 and I always found myself going right back to the relaxer. Now I am finally done! I've been natural now for 4 months and your video has really inspired me to continue my journey!! You know my struggle and your videos are the best Thank you!! You are very beautiful!

I have been natural for years but I really started focusing on not cutting it and trying different styles because of your videos. Scalped my hair on July 14th 2017 and then did a taper dec 14th and have watched it grow out ever since. I figure dec 14 will be my 1 year since I did recut it. But, thank you especially for that coil out video girl it saved me.

I've been looking for a video about afro hair I'm 5 months in... and my whole attitude has transformed... like u a complete acceptance of how MY hair is ... not what I want it to look like.. like someone else's... your hair journey is a message to a lot of woman saying they want natural hair but do everything to make it other than what they have... like me I did the same, stretched relaxed.. etc
I now sooooo love what I was born with even on those dry days... it's my hair !
I am totally, finally in love with what I got...
I was never happy, trying to do to it what it couldn't do...
Spook thank you for this video.... NEVER thought I would have found the right video and message..... peace and love

I have been through everything you've been through with my hair all my life. I have ironed my natural hair, I have gone bald, color it, relax it, curl it and continually kept cutting it into so many different styles through the years. I tried leaving it natural a few times but couldn't manage it so I relaxed it again. I have finally decided to accept my natural hair and I love it, love it. It's been one year since I did the big chop and I truly love and accept my natural hair. It's been a spiritual journey for me.

Girl, you inspired me to keep going. I'm getting closer to my second month being natural. I shaved my hair off back in July and it was amazing to see how it grew back from week to week. But today, I was over the whole natural thing and wanted to go back to the the creamy crack, but then I saw this video. I want to see me for real with my natural hair and all. I wanna be real from my skin to my hair and your video inspired that to me❤ Thank you so much! I will keep going 💪👣

This was a great video. Thank you so much. I felt many of the same things that you expressed in this video. I did my big chop myself in August of 2019. The amount of growth is amazing. I decided to go through with a natural hair transition after many false starts. When I saw my hair thinning as a result of stress and the menopause that gave me a kick in the pants to go ahead and go all the way and I'm so thankful I did. Thank you for your kind words and for sharing.

I've learned so much from watchin your videos plus others and this is the first time I'm actually able to grow my hair and it be healthy. But then the breakage it seemed my hair was stagnant. 😖 I was told several times that I needed to cut it but was like nope! But yesterday I gave in and did. I was questioning if I had made the right decision and 30 minutes later I see this video. Thank you ❤💛😘

What a wonderful video! Thank you so much for sharing. I am following down the same path, I am feeling the same things you said that you felt and you have accomplished your mission. You are walking beside us as we take that plunge. It took me four tries but I have finally made it all the way through. I've done it myself, I let my hair grow out stop getting a relaxer and then when I felt comfortable with the amount of New Growth I had I chopped off the relaxed portions myself. I have been natural since August 10th of this year and I am in those early stages of awkwardness, not knowing what products or what to do with myself so I am just becoming a product junkie unfortunately picking up anything and everything that says it will elongate and Define my curl. I am a 4C. I am embracing the transformation. You are right this is about much more than hair it's a rebirth and in some instances a discovery. I pray that my curls come out looking like yours - I know you said not to compare but I am not one for short hair and I am keeping it as healthy and moisturized as I can so that I have the long locks. This is a very sweet video and thank you again.

I’m in phase 1 of my natural hair journey. I too was stuck on the creamy crack. After I cut all my hair off in Sept ‘18 it started to grow back really pretty. But once I got comfortable I relaxed it again and dyed it black again. It didn’t resonate with me any longer. Now it’s May’19 and I cut it down again. I feel so much better, freer, and happier. Thx for the encouragement. I’m excited to see what the next few months hold.

This video really just motivated me because i have the same problem of not liking the texture of my hair. So i got a big chop this year and watching this video makes me regret it less and be more patient with the growth

I absolutely love this! I've been locked for 6 years now (started when I was 12) and I'm wanting to do a big chop but I'm afraid my hair will be too short or the texture wouldn't be to my expectations. You encouraged me to move forward with my idea of cutting off my locs however and I'm hoping my big chop day will be at the beginning of spring. I'm super excited about that journey and I hope to gain experience with working with my hair from this day forward. Thank you for sharing your journey with us and I hope to see more videos like this in the future. :)

Like you I've been doing my hair since about 15yrs old. I've always had long hair until I decided to go short pixie at 30. Now at 42 I said let me see how fast my hair will grow if I stop cutting it. About 2yrs ago I started doing my own color and cutting which I must say wasn't bad. Now I never started this journey to be natural but I stopped relaxing in April 2019 went from pixie to shoulder in less than a year. Now you have inspired me to move forward with seeing what my natural hair will do. I never started this to be natural but the curiosity is killing me. Thank you so much for sharing it has made me feel I'm not alone in my feelings, confusion and thoughts.

This video helped me a lot I’ve done the big chop 3 times since 2016 and have been struggling with loving my natural hair lately. I was feeling ugly with it and hating everything about it. I was considering putting the crack back in my hair lol. This video helped me gain some self confidence back and realize that my hair is beautiful and so am I.

Really made me cry 😭 I cut my hair 1 month ago. I was really depressed and confused on who I wanted to be. At first , I wasn't comfortable with it. But , NOW , I LOVE it 😍 Cutting my hair was the best decision I have EVER made! I too myself felt like the black sheep with the different hair in my family. I grew up Perming , cutting & dying my hair. So I took this video to the HEART ❤ Love you so much & THANK YOU 100 BILLION TIMES 🙏🏽❤😘

I went through the same thing with my hair journey. I was comparing my hair texture and asking why this and why that. My natural hair is KINKY. I will be honest, at times I still feel frustrated but presently my hair has grown to wear it is tolerable. I thank you so much for sharing your hair journey, it has inspired me to be me.

Loved your video. 😍 your hair did a crazy growth spurt at 7-8 months. When I done the big chop my hair took a similar route. My hair now, has been under a weave/full closure for 4 months (I take out, wash then redo monthly) so I forget how much it has grown. I'm giving myself 1 more year of this then intend to wear my natural hair out. For some reason my hair grows alot between Nov and February so I'm optimistic. Thank you for sharing 🥰🤗❤🦋🦋🦋🦋

Thank you so much for making this video because I too I'm struggling with the beginning phase of being natural. I've been getting perms since I was in the 5th grade and I'm now 47 and this spring I made the decision to go completely natural. The decision was a good decision it's just a challenging one that's all. Your video will be voice of reasoning whenever I get frustrated and have the urge to use that "head crack" as Chris Rock called it. Thanks for the hair tips as well on how to get style and play with your hair when with either wigs and braids. I'm wearing braids now but some of course are falling out due to some shortness but I'm going to stick with it I won't give up. Thanks again for sharing your journey.

This video just gave me life. I love how positively you speak. Ive been you my whole life, lol. Growing, cutting, coloring, bleaching, etc.. aka boredom. Im currently month 5 with my new growing out process. And I find it interesting how often Im in this place in my life, yet I always feel like idk where to start, or how to style it, or which products to use. lol. And oh the regret.. boy oh boy. the whhhhy did I do this agains? lol. This last time was due to heat damage, and breakage from letting someone else style my hair. I couldve cut in stages, but I was so flustered with all the time it took me trying to mask the damage, or balance my curl patterns, that I just said F it. But enough about me, I love your energy, and your videos and wise words have been very inspiring to me, and Im low key a pro, so I don't the power it'll have over the less encouraged ones. Keep at it. Take care and God bless. xoxo

one, the way you say hair cracks me up. two, i connected so much with the pressures from family looks. my mother's side is cuban (long thick, continuously growing hair) and dad's side is dominican (curly, fine, silky) and i got the bear of the middle and it's way more curly and kinkier than theirs.
this is such a beautiful journey. I'm struggling with mine now. I found a love and hobby in making wigs and got so good at it but i felt my natural ends were suffering from. Each time i did a braid out, i was cutting. then i just said, i'm going to give the wigs a break. and this past week, i must admit it has been difficult. i'm used to the ease but this has forced me (and costed me) to figure out what my hair likes, take on perceptions (Working in corporate) and show it some tlc. I'm learning. thank you for making feel a bit at ease.
