my issue is dry hair.....i sleep with the bonnet on at the beginning of the night and by the morning its off.

Gotta get my moisture up. I tend to neglect my hair sometimes where it gets really dry. I know my curls would be bomb if i gave it more tlc.

I more so do this routine in the summer and winter time , or when it just feels like my fro needs some love. Definitely gonna add that As I am water to my list to try out after I use up a couple more of my liquid spray refreshers/leave ins, which I'm pretty close

I practice the LCO method. It works much better for me. I get my choice of leave in and a cream and then oil and sometimes grease.

I haven’t used As I Am products in so long but they have so many good products now. I have high porosity hair too but I use the LCO method. You just reminded me that I have to oil my scalp now. 🤦🏾♀️ I’ve been sitting in this durag since wash day. 😂 Thanks for sharing❤️

I have so many textures legit range 3b 3c 4a and 4b...in different patches...ive cut my hair into a twa several times to see if it would grow back less variated lol. But omg I would love to have 1 curl type like the definition you have without gel is goals! Without gel my type 3 parts look like I got in a fight with my blow dryer 😑 lol
Wow, this video is so informative! This is my first time hearing of “High porosity hair.” I’ve done some brief reading about it and will continue to learn because I think that is my hair type too. I’ve noticed that even if I DUMP hair products into my hair, it STILL feels and looks incredibly dry a short time later. Like you said, the hair will quickly absorb the product, but it’ll quickly let go of it too.

GET IT. Lol my twists are super chunky when I use this and the moisture will last for days if you seal it. Plus it smells amazing and it's super thick.

How do you refresh your hair? My hair gets really frizzy with water too.
It makes so much sense why your hair doesn't respond well to hair dye. If your hair is high porosity when its virgin, dyeing it lifts the cuticle is probably too much. So it would be dryer, frizzier, stiff even..

I have high porosity hair as well. after you put those products in your hair how long do your hair stay moist? Do it for the whole day? Do it dry out later on throughout the day?
Water and oil does mix but you need to use an emulsifying Wax

I am a black male and I recently shaved my head bald because my hair did not grow in full in the crown area. I wash my hair every friday with shampoo and conditioner and then apply a leave in condtioner and then small dallops of castor oil to seal it in. For the following days i apply more castor oil (in small amount) to keep my hair moisturized with the leave in conditioner still in until my next wash day which would be friday. so my question is, is this safe for my hair or should i only apply the Leave in and oil once until my next wash to avoid clogging the follicles?

hiiiii ! i was wondering if i should do a routine like this everyday ? or every few days. my hair isn’t growing and i get dandruff and i’m just not sure what to do.
I cut all my hair off a few months ago out of frustration thinking I can just start over…& it’s not growing back😰….I’m so sad…I can’t afford an expensive wig install so I’m just stuck wearing these cheap wigs from the hair store that look like I just stuck a wig on my head! I hope urs is doing good

What does it mean when the water just sits on your hair? 😩 Some of my hair absorbs water in seconds but the rest doesn’t do anything.

Could be low porosity or your strands could be full of product. When you notice the water sitting on your strands is your hair clean or is it wash day and you have product in your hair?(oil leave in, gel ..)

Usually it is high porosity but it can also be low porosity if moisture doesn't properly get inside your strands. Does it take long to get your hair wet and do thick products sit on your strands? That's low porosity. If not, you can be medium to high porosity. When you get a good consistent routine down, you hair will be moisturised.
