  • The Rockwell T2 is GQ best razor winner award for 2022, it's that good. This razor is smooth as the rockwell 6C and it's easy to adjust on the fly. It is way more aggressive than any razor they have ever made. On setting six it's close to the Muhle R41, which is a beast. Check one out below.

    I know I am way late, but I had my first shave with the T2. I've been using a 6C for a long while and loved it. But this T2 was so smooth, I did not feel the blade, which was an Astra Superior Platinum, hardly at all. I set it at 4 for my first and second pass, and the third pass on 2, then went up to around 2.5 I used the green Proraso pre shave cream and shave soap with a Simpson synthetic brush. I was in shave heaven!

    I picked up the Rockwell T2 a few months ago and let me tell you I’ve gotten the best shaves with this razor. I typically use setting 3 or 4 on about 4 days of growth with the personna blades and it’s very smooth and efficient.

      It's a very good razor. I like the fact that it's adjustable and you can hold it into your beard length. Thanks for sharing my my friend.

    I love the fact that it is comparable to r41. With a feather or kai blade a lot of aggressiveness can give you such a smooth finish!

    So, took your advice, went to the Rockwell site and ordered the 6C, used the honey app and got a coupon for $12 off and applied for paypal credit and got another $40 off the order so I got a Rockwell 6C for $8 :) Can't beat that. Love this channel

    I just did a full head and face shave with T2 today. I like a razor with a long handle for my head but I don't like aggressive shaving on my head. I dialed the T2 down to a one. And it really did a good job. I used a three on my face and also left it. BBS. Coming from a aluminum hensen I like the weight of this razor. You have one of the best shaving channels on TH-cam. I really appreciate the work you do. It is helping me immensely. Cheers!

    I just got my T2 in yesterday. Did my first shave on my 6C setting (plate R3) and got a good close shave. Too close actually because I had some irritation after. I tried it again today with a lower setting….2.75 and 2.0 on my neck….with an Astra blade…and it was a totally different experience. Great shave…BBS and no irritation. Boy…this razor is aggressive compared to the 6C and 6s. It’s going to take some retraining on how to shave with it. I read an article on the T2 vs. the T2SS. Apparently Rockwell realized the T2 was too aggressive….and dialed the blade gap back on the T2SS. This is a good idea because for guys like me…I’m probably going to be restricted to a range of 3.0 to 1.5. Livable…bit I wish I had more range selection. This is a beautiful razor though…great feel in the hand and smooth mechanics. Can’t wait to get it dialed in.

      Thank for the update and review, Craig

    • @CraigRasmussen1
      @CraigRasmussen1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      P.S. This was my first T2 razor. The reason for the irritation I was feeling….was because there was a blade gap difference on both sides….causing excessive blade exposure on one side….too little on the other side. I learned about this on a B&B article with a picture showing it. I contacted Rockwell and sent them I picture showing it….and they agreed. Apparently, some early T2 razors had this problem….and it has since been corrected. They sent me a new T2…at no cost. This one was perfect…blade gaps equal on both sides and side to side. The difference in the shave was like night and day. I went WOW….this is a great razor. Absolutely BBS smooth with no irritation. It has become my favorite…over my 6S and 6C….because it’s so convent to use. The TTO and blade adjustment on the fly…are so easy to use….saving time and effort. I love Rockwell razors….and their customer service is first rate. This T2 is a great razor….recommend it highly.

    Nice review. I have heard from other reviewers that the T2 is more aggressive than the 6C/S. I do have a few true adjustable razors. My most expensive is the Rex Ambassador. After I discovered the Rockwell 6C and then the 6S, I realized that I could use the R4/R2 plate for everyday shaves. It only takes about 5 secs to flip the plate on my 3rd pass and pickups. So being able to adjust on the fly wasn't that important for me. What I like about the 6S over all of my other DEs is how smooth, comfortable, and irritation-free it is. When it comes to razor blades, I think that 95+% of the wet shavers can't go wrong with Nacet or Astra blades. I look forward to your review of the new Rockwell offering.

      I have the exact same setup- 6s with Astra green, 2 passes with plate #4 and third pass on plate #2. I don’t have much experience with other razors, but this setup is the only one so far that enables me daily shaves. (although I have the itch to buy more, hence why I’m watching this video lol)

    I was trying to decide between the T2 in Gunmetal, and the C in SS, I really wanted an SS razor, but I also really wanted a butterfly style, so wound up going with the T2, and so glad that I did. I tend to run it half way between 5 and 6 for the first pass, and then I'll drop it to around 3 for the second, and about 2 if I even need a third pass. The first couple of shaves with it worried me, I was using it on 2 to 3, and was cutting myself pretty bad, but oddly enough, I found that the more I turned it up, the better it became. I've only been using DE razors regularly for a year or so now, and maybe that's just what my skin and beard likes, but damn, I'd love to upgrade to a SS T2 now.

    Nice video, another bit of advice I can give about lathering is to not splay the brush too early, the way you put it on dry at the start and add water as you go is perfect for face/head lathering, but instead of splaying the brush dip the brush in water and paint water into the dry lather, keep doing that until the soap becomes shiny all over, this may take 12-13 applications of water being painted in or less depending on the soap, once the soap is shiny and glistening from the added water then splay the brush, that will generate a massive amount of thick rich lather, hope this helps you 👍 Chris from another cut above(TH-cam channel) explains this method very well too and gets great results, I actually think he has a full video on this way of lathering on his channel, have a look at his videos if you want to see it being done before you try 👍😊

    Rockwell Razor Model T delivers!
    Absolutely spectacular results. I have been using one of the original Rockwell razors for a couple of years now, and I keenly waited for the Model T. I've had it since 2019. The results have been spectacular. The ability to dial in the setting, not just at 1/2/3/4/5/6, but at any point in between has resulted in a fabulous shave. I thought it couldn't get any better, but I was proved wrong. In combination with the Rockwell blades, I am beyond delighted, and in fact glad I ordered a second to replace the original which I lost while travelling in New South Wales Australia. The engineering is solid. The tolerances are great and there is not a loose wiggle in the razor. Well done video mate. Just the amazing feedback listening to closest shave bbs. Excellent video. What sets your videos apart from others is that you come in tight with the camera so we can see exactly what that razor is doing. Well done on that. I must say, I like your idea of reversing the routine. I will try that myself and lather up first and let the soap do it's job while I set up the razor and blade. Great idea. For all of my shaving needs like soap and balm after shave, I have switched over to the Pacific Shaving Company products. All are 100% natural plant based. Love them, especially the nice spearmint after shave balm. It's incredibly soothing. Question. After watching you use the T2 with great results, how do you think it stacks up against the Leaf Thorn? I've been using the Thorn for awhile now and love how it gives me a nice close shave. Thanks for the video.

    • @OhioShaves
      @OhioShaves  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The tight camera clips take a whole lot of time editing. I had 10 hours in this video edit. I think it makes me stand out for others here on TH-cam. Thanks for the compliment.
      Switching up my shaving routine with lathering 1st has made a huge difference in the quality of my shaves. Good for you to give it a try. Let me know what you think!
      I've never heard of Pacific shaving products. Where are you buying it? I have tried others but the fall short of TOBS, Razorock and stirling soap company. Hoffman's sent me some free soap and it doesn't meet my expectations.
      I'm gonna need a few more shaves with this T2 too compare with the Thorn. I can say after one shave that it's hard to beat a safety razor that's adjustable and as smooth as this one. Rockwell is notorious for being smooth on your face.

    You need to try Razorock Lupo. Try the BBS razor or the Lupo 72 or perhaps the Lupo DC. Great razors ! I've got their entire razor range and are some of the best.
    I've got the model T from Rockwell. Waited patiently on their project for almost 3 years for 3 razors. Finally they sent me one in chrome as soon as their razors got ready. I exchanged the other two for two 6S's for give aways to friends and family. The model T is fairly aggressive compare to the 6 series razors as you've found out too
    For cold winter shaves try the Mitchell's wool fat. It's my fav winter soap. Many people don't like it or feel it doesn't lather. It lathers keeps the skin soft while and post shave. Post shave always is Nivea shave balm. My face thanks me rest of the day !

    Just started watching your reviews... great channel! Don't know if I could spring for the T2 price, but is there an appreciable difference in either the shave or the quality between the 6C and the 6S? Is the S worth twice the price of the C? Thanks!

    • @OhioShaves
      @OhioShaves  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great. Thanks for watching and subscribing. I personally think the 6C is a better price point and razor over the 6S. The 6C is a little smoother on your face. The only upside to the 6S is that it’s made out of stainless steel. Other than this, they are identical razors. Same blade gaps on all the three different plates. You won’t be disappointed with either. I have a ton of videos referring to the 6C.

    Hello David, how are you? Great review on the T2. I purchased one in December and am still running it through its paces. A fabulous razor, most definitely more aggressive than my 6C. Tomorrow I will be trying it on the 6 setting, tbh, been a little scared to go there, but we'll see what happens. I totally love the Rockwell products, they are some of my favourites.
    I trust that things are going well, take care. 💈🪒🇨🇦

      Setting six is scary sharp. I did a head shave 2 days ago on 6 and cut the hell out of the back of my head. There was a little pimple that it just sliced right off. The bleeding was crazy. Posting that video in the near future or may just a shorts video. Be careful my friend. Thanks for sharing Brad. Rockwell contacted me a couple of weeks ago and asked to partner up with them from all the various videos I have done using the 6C. It made me feel special that another company wants my insight. Just like Leaf and Henson. They just want my honest opinion with no fluff. I like it when companies stand behind their products and are not worried about you putting them up against their competition. So I’m getting noticed by manufacturers and for a small TH-cam channel like mine, that’s promising. The subscriber’s like yourself, reinforce all the time and effort I put into my videos. That makes me feel good and helps me push myself when I am editing a video for over 10 hours. So the hard work and effort is paying off. All good news here my friend

      @@OhioShaves so I just shaved with my T2 using the 6 setting and I survived. The plan was to just go with the cheeks, but I just kept going. I'd like to chalk it up to the fact I have reasonable technique when shaving, but tbh it did not feel as aggressive as I was anticipating. The next two passes were number 4 and number 2, ending up with a predictable BBS shave. The shave was just as good as my 6C, all for twice the money. 🤣🪒💈🇨🇦
