    Uncle Geo… T2 is my all time favourite. Just sits on the sink permanently as part of the rotation breaker or when I’m bored of other razors. If I have to settle for just 1 Razor someday, I’m holding on to the T2 or Muhle R41.
    I’m curious, What’s your favourite go to?

    Have you tried the Penny Shaver? It’s a single blade cartridge razor that can be used with Fusion handles. The head reminds me of the Gillette Guard razor. It’s aggressive on the first shave but smooths out. I imagine it could be perfect for traveling without having to check a bag or mail blades to your destination.

    this is my first non cartridge razor, started 2 days ago, its quite a bit different experience, I hate shaving, so used a one blade, I have coarse facial hair like you do, I thought 6 was least aggressive so was using that, setting lol, first shave I knicked the upper lip, but worked, today no cuts, pulled a bit on mustache, its a knack, still learning, but nice to have a close shave, better feeling

      What do you find superior to the Fatboy? One reason I ask, is that it appears to be a Chinese clone to the Fat Boy, and with a cheap Zamac head. My favorite 3 razors in my current collection at this point are my Fat Boy, my Rex Ambassador and my R41. Was thinking about trying the T2, because of it similarity to the fat boy, but I’m currently hesitant to take a chance on it. Plus, it’s made in China. I would appreciate your comments. Thanks.

    I like the T2 and am happy with mine. But realistically it doesn't shave any better then my $26 Gillette Super 109. The price point is high for something like this considering the head is mostly ZAMAK. Personally I think if this razor sold for $80 it would be better, but $150 is allot for a Zamak head.

    • @geofatboy
      @geofatboy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's normal since your neck is more sensitive. That's the feedback.

  • @cyberyoda1611
    @cyberyoda1611 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You are unique. You have a very logical style of shaving with adjustable razors. The others start with 1 or 2, then they complain that it didn't do much of a job, then they go to 4, when they are much happier. Then they try 6, when their beard is almost totally removed and their skin is pretty wounded.
    Your style is better, you use the most aggressive setting at the beginning, then there is less and less hair, and you use less and less aggressive numbers on the dial.
    Interestingly, many people say that they can't feel any cutting of the beard on dial 1 or 2 with T2. But I can hear that even the dial 1 makes some audio feedback on your beard. So, it works for you, and your face and beard can't be qualified as 'gentle', or 'delicate', you haven't made a step backward and refused to shave with the most aggressive razors and numbers (if we talk about the adjustable razors).
    And your skim technique is also unique, with no scraping on the cheeks.

    One thing to note about the T2, is that it needs to be lubricated periodically. My razor started making clicking noises and became difficult to turn after about 1-2 months. So, I have disassembled it per the Rockwells instructions (remove the bottom cover and unscrew). And then just lube with pre-shave oil or any oil you don't mind on your face. Assemble back and the razor is smooth as butter. The only downside for me (and this is all DE razors, except the Leaf Twig) I wish I could shave my sensitive neck without razor burn. No matter how easy I go or what I do with my Rockwell, I get the neck razor burn. It's definitely a user error, but I wish I stopped making it. Leaf Twig gets me clean shaved without irritation. I suspect this is due to my being used to cartridge razors and I must be holding the Leaf Twig correctly, resulting in a mild, irritation free shave.

      I have a T2 also…..as well as a 6S and 6C. All three razors give me some irritation in my lower neck and chin area. For this reason….I’ll finish up the hard-to-get areas with my old Mach 3 razor. It’s much more maneuverable in creases and tender areas and takes care of the touch-ups wonderfully. As far as betraying the DE Code….I could really care less. My sole goal is to get a BBS shave with as little irritation as possible.

      I suffered from neck burn until I mapped my beard growth direction. My beard on the neck grows horizontally from left to right. So when I did my first pass up or down I was actually shaving diagonally! Once I corrected the razor pass direction life became easy. No more razor burn. Also I never do a third pass. If I missed a spot today I will get it the next time.

    • @Blue_3rd
      @Blue_3rd 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You have probably tried this, but Geo mentioned a tip a while back: Cold blade and hot everything else.
      Heat up your face as usual for your prep but run the razor under cold water. I have the tough beard/sensitive skin combo and the cold blade method has really helped, I get no irritation most of the time now.
      Apparently hot blades vibrate in use which can cause razor burn and cold ones don’t. Cheers!

The problem is that the hair on parts of his face and neck grow at some weird angles that the electric razor can get. He also suffers from acne which is controlled by medication. Proraso is one of the most overrated shaving cream of all time. You can’t avoid a nick o a cut, not to mention the non existent skin protection. Definitely recommend a TOBS instead. Thanks Gio!

      If you want a real shave with no irritation, try use the Arko shave soap puck, and rinse your razor in cold water.
